Chapter 8

Phantom woke up to the chirping of birds. The man feels good. He was about to get up when he felt something heavy next to him.

He was awestruck when he saw Savannah hugging him tightly. He smiled like a love-sick fool. The stubborn woman was beside him, taking care of him. He watched the woman's face while she was fast asleep. Only now does Phantom remember what happened yesterday.

He almost ruined what happened yesterday, if not only for Savannah. The woman really fell from the sky for him. He traces her pointed nose and her cheeks. Her skin was smooth. It is very soft to the touch.

"So, beautiful." He muttered. He didn't move. He let the woman sleep. He even put his arm on the woman's head to make it a pillow.

'I want you, but you are a risk that I wouldn't dare to take.' He wanted to say this to the woman, but how could he when he was falling in love with her?

He would rather risk his feelings by falling in love with the woman instead of stopping himself.

He just stared at her while she was sleeping soundly. He can't imagine that this tiny girl has a huge strength.

She is strong and brave compared to others. He remembered their first meeting. She was so breath-taking that night. If it weren't for his rude mouth, the girl probably wouldn't be aloof to him but he will change that. He wanted to cling to it. It seems that the woman is doing something in her heart, which is why she can't help but think about it every now and then.

He leaned in and hugged her. He heard her heartbeat. It sounds so good. Their heartbeats had the same sound. She must be tired, and Phantom should let her be.

As much as he wanted to prepare a meal for the woman. He can't. His foot was swollen, so instead of getting up, he enjoyed the time next to the girl.

'Is she the one? She is the only woman who can make my heart beat like this. She's the only woman who can't get out of my mind, even for a moment. Am I falling hard at her?' He thought.

'I know I am falling in love with her. Who wouldn't fall in love with this girl? She is everything a man could dream of. Beauty, bravery, kindness, and patience She has everything; no matter what happens, I will not stop this feeling that is growing in me.' Phantom was determined.

Women like Savannah can only be counted on one hand. The only problem is, how can he tame the tiger's attitude like Savannah?

He stayed awake for a while before drifting off to sleep. Maybe he was tired, just like Savannah. The two of them were just tired. Who wouldn't get tired of this island if they had to survive in this place just the two of them?

Savannah woke up when she felt something heavy on her tummy. She opened her eyes and looked at what was on her tummy. Savannah's eyes widened and rolled back. Phantom's hand was there, and he hugged her tightly. Savannah was speechless.

The man was sleeping heavily. No matter what she did, he didn't wake up. She sighed and slowly removed his hands from her. She needs to prepare their food.

Her companion is sick, and she is the only one who can move them properly. Even Savannah's heart was pounding because of what the man did. She needs to hide her emotions. Despite the fact that her heart kept on beating for this man, She promised her brothers not to assume if she was not sure of what she felt.

She likes Phantom, but that's it for now. She can't just assume that she falls in love with him.

"Ah, what a drag." She muttered.

The girl was about to get up from lying down when Phantom's hand on her waist stopped her.

"Hey, I'll get our food. Let me go." She patted the man gently.

The man didn't even move from what she did; that's why she woke him up. "Wake up, you idiot! How can I get food if you don't let go of my waist?" Savannah snorts angrily.

Phantom woke up in a panic because he thought something bad had happened. He sighed in relief when he saw nothing. He turned to the woman, whose face could not be painted.

"What happened?" He asked. Savannah glared at him and looked at his hand.

"Will you remove your hand, or will I cut it off?" The woman said this sharply while looking at Phantom's hand.

Phantom removed it quickly. "Sorry." He muttered. Savannah rolled her eyes. He did not comment again.

"Stay here; I'll go get us some food." Savannah said she was rolling her eyes, but Phantom stopped her. "Those fruits are enough for us. Rest for a few more hours. I know you are also tired from watching over me and my temperature," the man said to Savannah with concern in his voice.

Savannah was stunned, knowing how many times she had woken up last night because the man's temperature was constantly going up and down. She thought and sat back.

Phantom was right. She needs rest too. She was tired of this island, too. Savannah really misses riding horses and resting in their trees at the hacienda, and she misses everything in the city.

"You are right, I am tired. My energy was drained." She said. The woman sat back from her place earlier.

Phantom smiled because the girl seemed childish with her behavior. He discovered another side of Savannah. While they are here, he continues to discover the characteristics of women.

"Then, we should rest for today." Said the man who laid down again. They were silent for a while before Phantom spoke again.

"Do you miss the city?" He asked suddenly.

Savannah looked at him. "Of course I miss it, but I mostly miss our Hacienda." She answered.

"I am not a City girl; I am a provincial girl because I am protected by my older brothers. I'm just on a Cruise Ship to escape my Otuosan. He wanted me to marry the son of his business partner, which I don't like. I don't want him to interfere with my life," she suddenly told him.

Now they are resting and doing nothing. They were talking about themselves. Phantom was still stunned when the woman said that she would have married someone else.

His face darkened. He was not aware of it, but his face said otherwise. He also heard from Savannah that her father almost forced her to marry someone. 'Thank goodness, this woman was tough and doesn't want someone to control her.' He said it on his mind.

"I am glad you ran away," he said, but it was a whisper. Savannah looked at what he said.

"What?" The woman asked because she hadn't heard much about it.

"No, I said. Is it alright to tell your story to a stranger?" He says. He changed what he said earlier.

"There is a saying that it is better to tell a story to a stranger because no one will judge you; however, you are no longer a stranger. I have known you for almost a week. Except for your big rude mouth, sometimes you're okay," Savannah said.

She was telling him that it was okay, and Phantom laughed hysterically before asking again. "Then, can I ask some questions?" He thought this was a chance to get to know Savannah more.

The woman thought for a moment before nodding. "Don't get me wrong, but why didn't you want your father to interfere with your life?" He asked.

"He took mommy and her Japanese woman together as his wives. We are the legal family in the Philippines, and the woman in Japan is the legal wife there. Isn't it funny? He only comes home here when he wants to! I hate him for that. I hate all those kinds of men. I never treat him as my father. No, he was never my father. My older brothers raised me; my mommy died because of my shameless father, so my older brothers are the only family I have!" Only now did the woman express her thoughts, and she wanted to talk about them.

"Sorry to ask that; I didn't mean to anger you," he consoled Savannah. Phantom thought that he needed to choose the questions he needed to ask the woman, or he might make her uncomfortable.

"Nah, it's okay. I was just pissed off at my father, which is why I couldn't go out and stayed at our hacienda because my older brothers were afraid that our own father would abduct me. He doesn't have any daughters. I am the only child who is a girl, and her business partner's son is a boy. My father has connections with the Prime Minister of Japan, which is why my brother is afraid he might have used them. And because of that, I am here; my brothers helped me get away from the place I grew up." The woman looked up at the sky while telling the story of her life.

Phantom handed her fruits to eat while they were talking. "Then it's unfair; I'm the only one telling the story; you should be too!" Phantom was about to speak and ask another question when the woman cut him off.

Phantom laughed. Their relationship here on the Island was getting better. Phantom suddenly leaned into Savanna's face.

The woman's eyes widened in surprise at the closeness of their faces. She blushed, but Phantom didn't seem to have it, and the man continued to speak.

"Fire away all your questions, Savvy. I'll answer it with honesty."
