Chapter 36: The Big Question

Isabella's Point of View:

"I think I'm in love with you, Bella…" He whispered.

I froze as I processed his words. My heart beat could easily be heard by my ears at this point, as my brain tried to comprehend the meaning behind the words he just spoke. His voice echoed through my brain, ears and whatever it travels through.

Even though I wanted to prompt myself to speak up, there was no sound in my throat. There was no reaction. Everything was too dramatic, to be honest—I shouldn't freeze like I was in a movie, but I couldn't help it.

His eyes wandered from focusing on one of mine, to another and then down. The sudden break in the eye contact snapped me back to reality.

"Uh…" I whispered, dragging his attention back to me. "I–I don't know what to–um…"

"Uh, I know," He muttered softly, "I probably, I–I shouldn't have—"

"No!" I exclaimed and let out a small breath, "It's—it's not like that."

"Then?"
