Chapter 38: The Aftermath

Achilles' Point of View:

"Yes. They are my father's people," I said in a low voice to Carlos. He looked at me and exhaled. It was obvious he felt pity for me—but I didn't.

Although it was true that I had no idea he would do something like this, atleast not before he even knew we got into a romantic relationship. It really makes me wonder if he had some people assigned to spy on me and actually did get the information on me.

It didn't matter. What matter was that he had taken Isabelle in spite and I had to get her back. It was somehow relieving to know that he was the one behind this—for some reason, I knew he wouldn't really hurt her. It was just so we'd not be together. If it were someone else, I wouldn't find her easily, nor would I know what they'd do to her.

"Achilles?"

Carlos' voice dragged my attention. I exhaled.

"I should probably stake out his secret places."
