In a car, traveling to the edge of Vallenville city, where a gigantic building could be seen, Kevin checked his status after his recent level-up.

At first, when his stats increased, he did not feel much but now he could feel energized but permanently.

He felt his head lighter, not to the extent of being sentient but still better than before. He suspected it was linked to his INT stat.

He still hadn't found a use for his CHR stat so that was a mystery to him.

While in the middle of his thoughts, the car entered the gates of the academy, but the main building of the academy was still a great distance away.

The City of Athens, named after Greek mythology, was a city within a city, the biggest military academy in the world, Olympia.

Sitting on 700 acres of land, about a quarter of Vallenville city, Olympia had everything a city had. Of course, only for students.

Kevin and Elizabeth exited the car and made their way to join the rest of the students who were also there for the orientation.

Of course, their circumstances were special as they could attend the academy without going through the selection process.

They were guided to a big hall by the staff dressed in the same uniform as them only they had stars etched on their shoulders showing their ranks as soldiers of the federation unlike those who had the ranks of trainees.

They were taken to a building as big as five football courts, one thousand students were standing side by side, in organized rows and columns. Both of them were guided to the front of the row where candidates of the special class from the fifteen great families were standing.

A stage was constructed in front of all students with fifteen seats and a podium. At the moment there was no one there indicating the ceremony wasn't started yet.

Turning his head, he could see a few familiar faces in the crowd of the special class students but didn't pay them much heed.

The military draft was an important time in everyone's life. Everyone who turned eighteen would have to attend the academy. Of course, not everyone could attend the biggest academy, so the lower potential students had to go to less established academies.

The only exceptions were the children of the fifteen great families who had to attend Olympia Academy no matter what their potential was.

While in the middle of his thoughts, the field was filled with students.

Suddenly a man appeared out of nowhere, his sudden appearance amazed everyone on the field and murmurs were heard about his identity.

Nova Brown. A sixty-seven-year-old old man, with white hair matching his age but with the build of a man in his prime.

His presence was enough to silence everyone on the field and Kevin himself could feel some invisible oppression from him.

Nova Brown was a person with achievements even greater than the fifteen families. Only sixteen during the latter years of the first invasion, Nova had defeated many Dawrians and had helped humans gain many new abilities.

His kill count and save count were greater than any other person during the war. A war hero. After the war, many tried to coax him over to their side, but he remained neutral.

That in itself was a problem for the fifteen families, knowing that there was someone stronger than them whose power and abilities were unknown to them.

They unanimously 'requested' him to take charge of Olympia Academy and while he had to power to reject them, he took that role happily on the condition that there would be no politics in his academy.

Of course, that was impossible, but the interference of the families was very low because of that.

"Good morning." Said Nova in a calm tone but his voice reached every student in the field. No doubt with the help of someone else's ability.

"All of you are gathered here today because you deserve to. You have a great responsibility to bear. Each one of you." He began his speech.

Kevin was told that he would begin after the entrance of the fifteen families' guests, but it seemed the rumors about him not caring about them were true.

"Dawrians are the enemies of humanity and in doing so they are an enemy of you. An alien race that seeks your destruction."

"You are the earth's line of defense and the sword that will cut their vile ambitions. You are the protectors of the new generation, children who are our bright future."

"Devote yourself, train hard, and then train more to push past your limit and prove to the world that you are worthy of your roles, as the defenders of the human race."

An inspiring speech. No doubt many inspire many but not everyone. The students from the special class or those affiliated with the fifteen families thought differently.

What Nova was doing was assigning them a goal they had no interest in. They were only here for power and to them, Nova was an enemy as well with his blatant disrespect for the families.

Even after so many years, his power had only increased rivaling all the families and he had become an even bigger threat. For them, he was an enemy.

Ending his speech, a female holding a pad whispered something in his ear.

"Ah yes. I forgot about them." He said loud enough for everyone to hear. "And now welcome the members of the fifteen great families." He said unenthusiastically, a tone contrasting greatly with his tone before.

The scowl on the faces of the students of the fifteen families only deepened and Kevin was amused at his reaction.

Following his words, nine men and three women walked onto the stage. It seemed like three members weren't able to come today.

Kevin recognized most of them including his father. Their entrance had another great reaction from the crowd mostly from those affiliated with the fifteen families, but lackluster compared to the reactions for Nova.

The frown on some of the heads showed their unhappiness to that point but there was nothing they could do except frown about it.

"Ahh… these people here are also hoping for your efforts." He said unenthusiastically again. Continuing under his breath, muffled but for everyone to hear, "To leech on them later on."

Kevin had to hold myself from laughing at this comment and the scowls on the faces of the heads only increased making them look quite bad.

"Today there are no classes. Familiarize yourselves with the facility and from tomorrow, you will begin. You have already been assigned to your classes so your homeroom teachers will be in charge of your tours. Have a good day and work hard." Saying so he disappeared again just as he had appeared leaving most of the heads with ugly faces and many angry in the crowd.
