First day 1

Chapter 16

Walking through the hallway to the S-class, were Elizabeth and Kevin.

"I will return your money," Elizabeth said, while having an argument it seemed.

"For the umpteenth time, forget about it." Replied Kevin for who knows how many times.

"But it's your money." She argued.

"I don't need it in the first place. I bought what I needed, and the rest was spare anyway, and I got a hundred after midnight anyway." He argued back and tried to get her off his back about this.

"I don't get this. Why can't they give us more money or allow us to use our own money?" She said with clear frustration, "I mean, what can I do with just a hundred bucks."

"It's seven hundred for a week. That's a decent amount if you ask me." Kevin said in return.

"My sandals cost more than seven hundred bucks," Elizabeth replied in a loud voice to show the severity of the situation.

Kevin just shook his head and didn't continue to argue on this matter.

They had reached their classroom, a hall was more like it but since it was designed like a classroom, it was a classroom, albeit a big ass one.

Entering the class, he could see groups of students in different places of the class.

The class was for only fifty kids and from the looks of it, not all of them were here yet. He recognized some faces but chose to not approach them.

Instead, he started walking towards the front of the classroom to find a seat only to be stopped by Elizabeth.

"What?" Asked Kevin.

"Let's sit at the back. I don't want to sit on the front." Said Elizabeth while dragging Kevin to the end of the classroom.

"We should sit on the front," Kevin said but didn't stop her from dragging him.

"So, we can bore ourselves better? No. We're sitting in the back."

Elizabeth chose the desk closest to the backdoor of the class. In the first column from the entrance.

"You do know that we can't leave the class during the lecture, right?" Kevin said upon seeing her choice of seating.

Elizabeth didn't reply and sat down.

"So, what do you think it's going to be like? They are going to train us against Dawrians by teaching us history lessons?" Elizabeth questioned since on the schedule, there were three classes for a day.

The longest one and the first one, a three-hour class, theoretical class, and homeroom.

The second class was after a short break, physical exercise.

The third class was more focused on individual abilities and how to train them better.

The classes were eight hours combined with two breaks of half-hour each and a lunch break too. Combined a day was nine hours long.

Kevin also doubted what they were going to teach the students for three hours for a month before tests if all they had was fabricated history.

"Maybe they will tell us something related to abilities, their origin, and their specifics," Kevin answered his own assumption.

He found it weird as this was something that could easily be arranged by these students' families. Lower-class children lacked guidance but not them.

But having no answer for that, all he could do was wait and see.

Students kept coming and groups kept expanding. Some new groups were formed but not any around Kevin and Elizabeth. The reason for that was simple.

Out of fifty students, only fifteen direct children were in the class. Kevin and Elizabeth were unique cases.

Now the thing was that all the fifteen families were not friendly with each other. Some were not so friendly as well.

Those families would send their talented children to accompany the main heirs of the families. So, fifteen seats were reserved, and the rest were open to competition. If you could prove that you were worthy of that seat, you could earn your right to be in the Special class.

Hence the groups. Politics was forbidden under Noah's regime, but it didn't mean there were no technical loopholes.

All of the students in the special class for those thirty-five seats are talents of the fifteen families only this year, there was a bit of a change. There were two students, who had won those spots through competition, and those two students were entering the class right now.

A young man with a strict face, like he was ready to go on a battle, but that didn't mean his handsomeness was affected in any way. He was very much handsome, with his brown hair and dark grey eyes, he seemed like someone out of a movie.

The second was a beauty with light raven hair and black eyes. A friendly expression on her face. She seemed someone who got along with everyone and was really outgoing.

Kevin recognized her as she was the granddaughter of Noah, the academy director. He had no idea who the boy was but what he did know was that the boy belonged to the middle class but had caught Noah's eye because of his talent.

The next person who entered the class was someone he was very familiar with. Another beauty but only with a cold expression on her face.

Sarah Callaghan. Supporting silver-colored hair and off-white eyes, she was a perfect definition of a cold beauty. Her uniform didn't match her pale skin and hair, but her beauty was enough to make her look good in anything.

Upon her entering, many tried to approach her. Like Kevin and Elizabeth, she also didn't have anyone from her family accompanying her. For a brief moment, when scanning the class, her gaze stopped at Kevin.

There was no change in her expression, but unlike others, her gaze stopped at her for enough time to make Kevin special for her in the eyes of the class.

"I guess she remembers you after all." Heard Kevin Elizabeth saying.

Sarah started walking in their direction, only to sit at the seat next to theirs. Right next to Kevin.

"Hey, Sarah." Elizabeth greeted her.

"Hello." Sarah replied in a cold voice and then turned to Kevin, "Hello Kevin."

Again, something that made Kevin special. The only person Sarah had taken the initiative to greet.

"Hello." Was all Kevin said with a smile? To the whole class, Kevin was the rudest person at the moment. How could he show a dismissive attitude to such a beauty?

Sarah nodded and it looked like she was about to say something when the door opened again, and a man and a woman duo entered the class.

The woman had black eyes hidden behind a pair of glasses, her dirty blonde hair braided resting on her shoulder to the front.

The man with a monotone expression, dark hair, and black eyes, was in the lead. The man looked ordinary in terms of looks, but what made him stand out was his bulky figure.

Kevin figured that this man was their physical exercise teacher.

"It seems everyone is here. Please take your seats, the seats you take will be your seats for the rest of the month until your tests after which you can change your seats if you want to." Surprising everyone, the voice of the bulky man was very soft contrasting greatly with his image.

All of the students hurried to pick their seats. Acquaintances sitting closer to each other. Noah's granddaughter and the boy with her chose the remaining bench at the end of the row by the window.

Another girl came and sat next to Sarah. Slowly, all the seats were taken, and the man said, "Great. Now let us begin with the introduction, a few things about yourself, your ability, and if you want, a demonstration about it as well. Let's start then shall we." The bulky man said while the woman with him just sat in the seat without saying a word.
