Chapter 06
Ed couldn't help but feel lucky as the heaven and system is helping him. Blessing him with the appraisal skill.
With this appraisal he could help his pokemon and himself with strategies and also in catching new pokemons.
After learning about his pokemons' moves he put his attention to Beautifly.
"I accept your challenge!"
"Fly~"
"You guys ready!?"
Ralts raised its fist as it growled while Budew opened its bud. Azurill jumped on top of her balloon but the other two were just staring at us. Cleffa tilted her head as its was confused on what to do while Wurmple its face was full of shock.
While Ed was full of spirits for his first battle it was different from what Wurmple thought;
'I thought that I didn't need to worry about my life, just eat, sleep, and play when I followed you!'
"Beautifly~"
Hearing its mother's cry Wurmple remembered all the good food in the daycare. It couldn't accept the idea of leaving all those delicious pokemon food and pokeblock behind.
After much contemplation his face turned serious as he nodded to Ed. Ed just left Cleffa behind just turning it into a support.
Even though Ed has not experienced real life battle, he watched pokemon battles in Anime and also in Pokemon games it's just that real life is more closer to the anime than the game. He could finally use his fantasy into real action.
He used his appraisal on Beautifly

Ed's jaw dropped when he saw this as the pokemon's level is higher than Ralts by 10 levels. Add it with its Gold grade.
Ed gulped as he was thinking of backing out and not hurting his pokemon. Ralts also senses that his trainer is having second thoughts. It used a shadow sneak and smacked Edward in the back of his head.
"Ow" He shifts his head and looks at Ralts with tears in his eyes. Luckily trainers also get boost from their pokemon or else he would faint even if Ralts use 1% of it strength. Seconds later he smiled as his fighting spirit ignited.
"You're right! Let's battle!"
Beautifly did a battle stance for battle.
"Okay we will go first! Azurill Helping hand to Ralts! Ralts use Disarming voice!"
Azurill touched Ralts with its Balloon in its tail as she gave off an energy as Ralts growled as his voice carried a pink beam with notes hitting towards Beautifly. But Beautifly dodge it easily.
Beautifly charged up to attack and Ed saw that it was Secret power and attack with its body.
"Azurill! Use protect!" Ed ordered but because of inexperienced Azurill and it wasn't proficient with the move. Azurill failed to use move protect on time, hitting both her and Ralts.
"Ralts!Azu! Cleffa use a Heal pulse on them!"
Watching Cleffa's reaction tilting it cute body questioning Ed, Ed's energized face crumbles. Cleffa only stared at Ed which made Ed's lips twitch as this cutie pie only knows how to act cute.
Dew~
Budew used Extrasensory to Beautifly which shocked Ed. Which Beautifly immediately got out because of the difference of level
'Eh? How come Dew is so proficient?'

On the other hand Birch was sweating non stop as he searched for the brats.
"Ha ha ha…Is it me or are those little ones ran so fast? Am I getting old? No! It should be Ralts and his trainer they ran so fast for a kid who's rumored sick and a pokemon that should be slow. I'm still in my 20s"
While catching his breath he heard his name.
"Dan?"
Birch turned around to see Norman and Caroline.
"What are you doing here? Why are you breathing heavily?" Caroline asked as she could see Birch's giant body stretching and contracting.
"I can't find Ma'am Talya's grandson and his pokemons"
"What?" Caroline jump in fright
"Calm down he could just be here in the stadium" Norman calmed the two down.
"Your right we need to look for him" Birch sighed as they are walking pass the place where coordinators enter towards the stage. They heard a child's voice ordering his pokemon.
They immediately went to the voice's direction. They saw Ed battling against a Beautifly. Even though inexperienced the child is getting a hang on it.
"Ralts get behind her! Budew use growth! Cleffa, please try to use heal pulse again!"
Hearing Ed's commands the pokemons immediately spring into action. Ralts went behind Beautifly using shadow sneak as if it could understand its owners thought, Budew growl as its body shone, and Cleffa now used Heal pulse but it was so weak but still it could help Azurill.
"Azu bubbles!"
Ralts sneak attack missed but Beautifly got hit by bubbles. As Ralts immediately used confusion and sped up the speed of the bubbles hitting Beautifly. As the bubble hits, Wurmple who is silent until now used string shot immobilizing his mother's actions.
"Budew use extrasensory!" Out of Ed's expectation Budew pulled off the attack again. Unable to dodge, Beautifly got hit by the attack.
Beautifly staggered in the air but regained its balance seconds later and shook its head. Beautifly growl as it used string shot to all Ed's pokemon hitting them all in strings. The sticky string wrapped everyone was unable to move except for Ralts as he used teleport to dodge the strings.
While Ed was battling against Beautifly, Norman and the others were watching his battle. They couldn't help but be amazed at how Ed commands his pokemon and how his pokemon, especially Ralts, have a great sense for battling and that it was the pokemon who's really on sync with Ed.
"Ralts! Shadow Ball!" Ed and Ralts continued their assault.
A purple ball formed from Ralts as he threw the attack to Beautifly.
The shadow ball is getting near Beautifly but she blocks it using her wings but the shadow ball explodes when Beautifly hits it, taking the pokemon down before it regains its flight.
While Ralts is fighting Beautifly, Norman and the others see Ed nods to Wurmple. The pokemon uses bug bites to break free from the string and also help the other.
"Ralts retreat!"
Hearing its owner's command, Ralts back off using teleport. This part really shocked Norman and the other as they knew about teleport but it couldn't be used consecutively but this Ralts could do it with ease.
"Now let's try again! But this time Ralts use confusion on everyone." Ed asked
Ralts used his psychic power to float everyone like it did when catching up to Ed.
"Let's play then!" Ed's excitement connects his psyche to Ralts which makes Ralts know what he was thinking.
"Azurill Bubble!" With Ed's command Azurill prepares to attack while Ralts float Azurill towards Beautifly.
Beautifly used gust but with the help of Ralts, Azurill dodged it while releasing her attack which hit Beautifly.
"Wurmple String Shot, Cleffa copycat that attack of wurmple."
Wurmple spit strings from its mouth as Cleffa watched Wurmple and copied it and luckily she also used a string shot trapping Beautifly and making the pokemon fall from the air.
"Budew Stun spore!" With help of Ralts, Budew immediately arrived above Beautifly and opened its bud releasing orange powders and making Beautifly unable to use its strength to break free from the string.
Seconds later Beautifly concedes and declares them a winner. Ed jumps as he and his pokemon celebrate their first battle.
"Ralts your the MVP for this match hahahahah" Ed laughed as he carried Ralts on his hands as he circled around. Ralts smugly raised its head as he thumps his chest.
The others laughed as they also danced around.

Norman and the other two watching this scene was shocked because a kid could command many pokemon to use move which unlike in games it need the strength of the trainers to power up the moves with the help of the trainers spirit strength giving boost to their pokemon which is why pokemon with trainers is stronger than the wild ones.
"That kid is amazing even though he couldn't tap out the strength of his pokemons if he grow up he will be a strong trainer maybe like his grandparents reaching master rank." Norman said as he stared at Ed who was laughing with his pokemon.
"You're right Norman, but I couldn't help but be curious and want analyze that Ralts which has a strong bond with the kid." Birch piqued
"They're so cute but I couldn't help but feel vexed as Beautifly is my favorite pokemon." Caroline said adoring how cute and how she didn't want Beautifly to lost.
While the two couple are talking Ed took out a cheri berry from the inventory and gave it to Beautifly. This shock Birch who saw Ed taking out the berry even though not touching his pockets but from the air.
'Is this from the bond of Ralts and the kid? From what I read before, if the bond of trainer and pokemon could give the trainer a skill. This is best to add in my research' Birch eyes shone as he thought of a new research project regarding trainer bonds.
"Thank you Beautifly and I will take care of Wurmple."
"Beautifly~" Beautifly nodded as she flew away.
"Goodbye Beautifly, I promise to make your child into a strong and healthy pokemon." Ed waved to the leaving pokemon.
After Beautifly left, Ed heard footsteps behind them. He turned around to see Norman, Caroline, and Birch.
"You have a great battle kid"
Birch said smiling as he gave Ed a thumbs up.
"You will become a great trainer when you grow up" Norman complimented Ed
"I don't know about that after all I need to use five pokemon to battle one pokemon" Ed scratched his head as he remembers pokemon battle was supposed to be one-on-one or two-on-two or triple battle.
While he on the other hand need to use five of his pokemon to battle one Beautifly.
Seeing Ed's expression the trio smiled as Norman talks about pokemon battles that one on one only happen in a tournament while in a real battle you can use as many pokemon as possible but it was still better to train and bond with your pokemon as it could help both parties to get stronger. He narrate his experience when he start as a trainer.
Caroline also adds about the contest, and Birch is talking about understanding and becoming one with pokemon.
Hearing their experiences and stories Ed couldn't help but be entranced. He could remember Ash's travels in each region but now that he was in this world he couldn't help but also wanted to try too.
As Ed continued to listen on their stories Grandma Talya followed by Juan and Sebastian.
"Ed let's return home" Grandma said, stopping the group from their discussion.
"Okay~" Ed replied as he put all his pokemons back to their pokeballs, after returning them he immediately went to Grandma Talya's side.
"What happened to you?" Seeing Ed's pokemon looking tired and also his clothes Grandma asked.
"I have a battle with Wurmple's parent and we won"
"Oh so you want to be good at battling?" Grandma scruffs Ed's head. As she remembered how she also wanted to battle and couldn't wait to become a trainer when she was a kid.
Norman and Birch told Juan about Ed's battle and how he could command his pokemon also that the kid know his pokemon's attack more than the owner of the attack as if he knew his pokemon attack without training or without using devices to know the Pokémon attacks.
This shocked Juan as he was amazed with Ed's talent and skills as even full pledge trainers couldn't know their own pokemon's attack. He remembered about the training camp that will be held with the joint contribution of all regions.
"Then how about you enter the summer camp the association will be helding led by Professor Oak. This training camp was created so that the professors could choose kids that will be the first holders of pokedex in each region." Juan suggested
"Like Grandpa Yun told me about the junior trainer camp. But a Pokedex?" Ed's eyes shone as he heard the word as the pokedex is always part of both games and anime in the pokemon world. 'Also Professor Oak to booth, he was one and also the first character I met in games.'
"Yes it was we pokemon researchers and professors contributed on implementing the training camp though it was still in the initial stages. About the pokedex the association plan to turn it as an identification for the trainer and to use it to learn your pokemon's move and information by scanning it with your poke ball or maybe better as poke ball has identification lock using the trainer's DNA using it other professors propose on using this connection to the pokedex to expand it's uses" Birch proudly explained
"Wow, that's a great device after all we need to understand our pokemon's strength, aptitude, and moves through training and battle." Grandma nods as she he couldn't help but sigh on the advancement of the new generation of technology.
"Well enough for that today, we will be leaving first. See you next week." Grandma bade goodbye
"Good bye everyone!" Ed waved as he bade farewell, following grandma Talya, Exited of the upcoming camp. Macy bowed and followed the two.

When they got home they're greeted by Grandpa Yun and told them about Sonia and Argus calling.
"Ed your parents where calling and want to talk with you."
"Okay" Ed nodded and because of using energy the adult him was overtaken by his childish will which was suppressed for a long time. If Ed think about it he don't understand his feelings to his new family which as he know he wasn't someone who like familial love. But he thinks that it was the real owner of the body who have this feelings.
Watching Ed talking to his parents and still full of energy narrating his experience the two elders couldn't help but smile as the Edward they remembered is finally returning, a curious kid and also full of excitement to everything. Even when his body is getting weaker when he was at the age of two he still full of vigor but when he turned four the elders think Ed became another person or should they say another personality that is mature and estrange to everything. They walk towards their room as they talk about Ed.
"So what do you want to talk about?"
Grandma Talya asked after they entered the room.
"It's about the items our grandson showed me"
"Item?"
"Yes, they're pokeballs and the others are something that I have never seen before. But the worst part is a particular pokeball." Grandpa showed the documents he had about the master ball.
"This is i-impossible ... .so there's really a pokeball that could catch any pokemon?" Grandma was shocked and reread the file and she saw a mark in the file and a memo.
'Team Rocket'
"!!!" seeing the name of the organization grandma's eyes wide open as she was alarmed by the organization implementing the creation of the master ball.
"Did you report it to them?"
"Yes, I did and that old brat will sure be calling us any moment." Grandpa smirked and seconds later their telephone ring.
"Speaking of the devil" Grandpa answered the phone
"Yun! Is this true!" an old voice yelled in the phone
"Hahaha, we're just talking about you when you call. Yes it's true Vince" Grandpa Yun laughed
"Impossible! I couldn't believe this those raticates creating something that could be dangerous! And this is also connected to Norman's case! What a damn coincidence! Damn it! It was really suspicious!" Vince cursed
"The thing I explained on the message we want some compensation" Grandpa Yun express
"So you want compensation like Talya? So now tell me what do the two of you want? Last time I remember you and your wife don't care about something like compensations not caring about everything aside defending the world and defeating those raticates"
Vince asked curious but also anxious that this two old cunning couple would be excessive to their demands after all these two are cunning and strong which is the association is happy having them as an ally but it change when their children had accident due to those brain dead nobles.
"People adapt Vince that's why people change. We couldn't help it as you know our past everyone taking us pushovers that even an accident happen to us they'll forget about the help we gave. Also I heard that the league got many platinum grade pokemon from Alola"
Grandpa Yun said
"How did you guys know!?It should be classified! Damn is there really spying rattata in the association as you guys can get information it means those thieving Murkrow also know these information." Vince prattle as he feel his blood pressure rising as problem keep piling and now his suspicion of a spy could be real after all everyone has there own agenda.
"Ah right, the Hoenn only had few okay? But all of them are still an egg? Three from our own region, one from Kanto, one from Kalos, and two from Alola." Vince enumerated the locations where the eggs were found.
"From Alola? Do you know the parents of the pokemon?" Grandma Talya asked as the pokemon from Alola was rare
"We didn't know as you know the research team need to search for new Pokémon species which Alola's pokemon is still under observations as there are pokemon called totem pokemon and unidentified pokemon and the research group only found the two eggs and not the parents but they hypothesize that it was a pokemon egg of Bounsweet or Lurantis who is common in the area and when they identify the grade one is just silver while the other is bronze" Vince on the screen shook his head. That's why the people from Alola was ready to give the pokemon eggs as they have low grade and they're found an already found pokemon.
"They're both grass type pokemon right?" The two pokemon piqued grandma talya's interest as she specialize in grass type pokemon
"How about the pokemon egg from Kanto?" Grandpa Yun aksed
"No they didn't as they only found the egg in the valley where they found many Mankeys around so they're happy to gave the egg as it was hypothesized that the pokemon is a Mankey. But why are you guys asking about these? Don't you have strong and high grade pokemons? I heard from Juan that one of your grandson's pokemon is so strong for a Child pokemon nearing Beginner rank!" Vince yelled as he couldn't help but feel frustrated and envious of the two couples for their battle talents add it to their many high grade pokemons.
"Well we couldn't help on wanting more of the best for our grandchildren" Grandma Talya smiled
'Why didn't I feel anything like that for those grandchildren of mine?Maybe because their grandson was obedient while mine was chaotic?' Vince cursed as he felt a headache towards his grandsons. But he remembered his granddaughter who was now a trainer and responsible in any way unlike her cousins and little brother who were one only like stones and the other will always waste money for any beautiful accessories and cosmetics which they questioned where these boys got their habits from.
"Okay then, are you guys free tomorrow? Because it is better if we talk about those topics face to face and if you want the pokemon eggs isn't it better if you see them personally? I will also bring my grandchildren as they'll be choosing their starter pokemon I could also get them to help in our research in pokemon eggs and also maybe they could be friends with your grandson" Vince suggested
"Okay, that's a great idea. It's better if Ed could be friends with your grandchildren." Grandma agreed with Vince's idea and she also hoped that her grandson could make new friends and not just his childhood crush and his cousin.
"That's settled then let's meet at the league office at route 11. I really want to know about these documents you've sent Yun. See you guys tomorrow" Vince end the call.
After the call ended Grandma Talya couldn't help but shook her head.
"He's still hot headed as ever, even though he is already old and has many grandchildren."
"He didn't change huh?" Grandpa Yun laughed as he knew that Vince will only be childish towards someone close to him but strict to others.

Ed didn't know that because of him the league was able to enhance and create new types of pokeballs with the reference of some pokeballs he gave. Especially in the part of masterball luckily the materials were rare to find and scarce.
