Chapter 08
First POV
I don't know how long our journey is but Ralts woke me up when we got to our destination.
"Raaa" Ralts call Ed as he try to wake Ed up. But I was in the comfortable position but I felt that energy was converging so I opened my eyes and saw that Ralts was planning to use an attack.
"Um, Ralts? What is it?" The hell are planning on using an attack on me.
"Ra" Ralts pointed outside disregarding my questioning gaze. I look to where he was pointing and saw a tall building.
"We have arrived already?" I asked him and he confirm it. But it is weird as the elders didn't wake me up so I look at the front seat and found it empty as I only saw Roserade in the front seat it was looking at Budew who was in my lap. This Roserade is Budew's parent. but her attention is only on Budew who was sleeping in my lap.

Roserade has six main moves but she can use old moves because in real life moves can be combine or lower or power it up to use other move. As you can level up your moves such as leafstorm it came from Roserade training Magical Leaf, Razor Leaf and Petal Blizzard. Sludge Bomb if you control the poison power it can turn into Toxic or vice versa and also Roserade can condense the poison energy into her fist to use a poison jab. But the effects is still the same as the game.
Seeing my action of searching the elders Ralts pointed outside again and saw that the elders is talking to someone.
3rd PoV
When the trio arrived on the branch office of Hoenn League in Route 111 near Mauville City. They're greeted by their friend Vince as he cheerfully greeted the couple.
"Long time no see you two"
"Hahaha long time no see" Grandpa Yun happily greeted Vince as he was the first person he got close to when he arrived in Hoenn.
"Your so busy now aren't you, that now you became the director of the information department of the hoenn alliance" Grandma Talya teased him as different to them who choose to live peacefully with their children after they retired Vince continue to work as he gain his present position but it was hard for him as different from Kanto and Johto where the influence of nobles and clan is small, other regions was strongly influenced by this families.
"Sigh you can say that as I want my family to have a great position in the league. As I'm different from you guys as both of you as you two are powerful and strong. Your rank when your active is higher than mine." Even though he was an Elite trainer he was only a reserved Elite as he didn't get to the top 5 as he is only at the 12th rank at their time.
"So where's your grandson?" Vince asked as he was curious about the first grandson of the couple and added to it that his parents were strong elite trainers.
"Well he is in the car sleeping. I think the pokemon will wake him up." Grandpa answered cheerfully
As grandpa finished speaking they heard a noise in their back so they look behind and saw Ed getting out of the car with Ralts using confusion to carry Ed and Budew.
"Come on Ral, I can take care of myself" Ed couldn't help but complain as it was embarrassing to be carried out in the car like he didn't know how to get out. But his complain turn in a deaf ear as Ralts carried him to where the elders are.
Grandma Talya and Grandpa Yun is already familiar with this scene as Ralts will always babysit Ed even though the latter don't want to but Vince was shocked because Ralts is a rare pokemon and a normal Ralts have a little capacity in there inner force but the Ralts in front of him is using its psychic power without any backlash.
When Ralts and Ed arrived in front of the elders Ralts put Ed down.
Seeing Vince Ed greeted him
"Hello sir, my name is Ed"
"Hello little one, I am Vince your grandparents friends. So how about we get inside?" Vince lead the group inside. While traveling towards Vince's office he will explain to the elders about present situation and also the other offices under the information department of the alliance.
When they got inside his office Ed saw that their are people inside. Two elders, one teen, and three childrens. The elders are talking with each other while the two girls, one teen and other a child are talking and eating snacks, one boy with turquoise hair is also joining their talk,and the last one was engrossed in looking at fossils in the cabinet glass.
"Yun, Tanya and Ed they are my grandchildren. Everyone introduce yourself."
The eldest of the group is a girl with a turquoise hair introduced herself first.
"Hello my name is Luvia Mikuri, nice to meet you everyone." Luvia greeted them.
"And this is-" before she can introduce the boy beside her who have the same hair color as her, the boy interfered with her introduction
"I am Wallace and sister I can introduce myself you know. It's not elegant also you guys introduce yourself and also Steven stop looking to my Grandpa's collection" Wallace scolded the boy with silver with light blue hair looking to an old rock.
"Hello, I am Steven Stones" Steven greeted them before returning to the fossil in the glasses.
"Hello I'm Winona, long time no see grandma Talya" Winona also greeted them.
"Oh little Winona, long time no see you too Reluya and Gritt" Grandma Talya cheerfully greeted Winona as when her elders left Winona to the elders' care they treated her like their granddaughter.
"Hello grandma" Winona answered
"Ed you also introduce yourself"
"Hello everyone my name is Sarhed" Ed introduced himself with grandma's instruction but he felt someone was pulling his shirt so he looked and saw Ralts pointing at himself and Budew. "Ah this is Ralts and Budew, nice to meet you everyone"
"That's great then" Grandma Talya answered and Grandpa Yun look at Vince and both nodded to each other.
"Luvia can bring Ed and the other for a tour but don't enter forbidden places okay"
Vince instructed his oldest to take the other children with her.
"Yes grandpa, everyone follow me" Luvia answered and told everyone to follow her
The first one to follow is Winona as she was close to Luvia, Wallace don't want to follow but glared by his grandfather, Steven was so focus on looking to the fossils in the glass that Wallace couldn't help but drag him out, and Ed want don't want to follow and want to hear the adults' topic but dragged by Ralts using Psychic.
When the children got out of the room, Luvia who was leading the group look back as she said.
"Nice to meet you Ed and also your pokemon. We are going to tour the place but due for Steven and Wallace choosing their starter pokemon we will be going to the lobby down floor. Are you okay with that?"
"I'm okay, I'll just follow you guys around as I'm excited to see the pokemons" Ed answered as he didn't care about any arrangement they have but he was excited as he can see new pokemons.
"That's great then, I've been waiting since this morning to meet my first partner and I will become a top coordinator like master Juan" Wallace said as he stated his dream which made Ed realize that Wallace was the Wallace in games and animation a champion and a top coordinator.
He also looks to Steven and now he knows why they're familiar as Steven was the Hoenn champion and has the same character who was a rock and fossil addict.
Thinking of being a friend of a future champion and coordinator, Ed get near Wallace and starts a conversation.
"So you want to be a coordinator like Mister Juan?"
"Yes, my dream is to become a great coordinator" Wallace answered
"Woah that's great I can't wait to see your performance. I was also entranced with how coordinators perform right Budew?" Ed said as he added a proof using his pokemon. After he said that the mission panel in the system updated.

Seeing this Ed was more excited to befriend them.
On the other hand Ralts was shocked as this is the first time its owner acted like this. But seeing that its owner is doing the initiative to gain friend without the help of other like before he was contented.
"You saw Master Juan's performance? It's great isn't it?" Having a topic for conversation and his favorite topic Wallace become excited talking with Ed. The two hit it off immediately as Wallace talks about pokemon contest and Ed listen same as the other. As they listen to Wallace narration they finally got to their destination.
Ed saw people wearing lab coat roaming around holding stack of papers. The group was greeted by the man it a suite.
"Hello eveyone" Theodore greeted everyone and saw someone he didn't know
"This is?"
"This is Sarhed, Dr, Theo and you can just call him Ed." Wallace introduced Ed
"Oh, right young master Wallace the pokemon are ready" Theo said
"Really? Let's go" excited on getting his starter pokemon Wallace excitedly ran toward the lab.
Ed holding Budew followed them. In the room there are many wires, screen, and document around the room. In the center there is a larger screen and in the table there are five pokeballs and also a transparent crystal ball in the middle.
"Now if you may Wallace" Dr. Theo said to Wallace
"Okay" Wallace went to the table and touch the crystal ball and the ball lit up with blue and white light.
Dr. Theo looked to his computer and said.
"You have the highest affinity with all water type young Wallace"
"Really?" Hearing this a wide smile form in Wallace's face
"Affinity?'' Ed was confused as he didn't know about
"Affinity is about which type of pokemon are more synch with a trainer maybe it was in our blood as most of our family's affinity is water type pokemon and the biggest example is uncle Juan." Seeing Ed's confusion Luvia explained
"But affinity depends on every person as there is someone who's affinity is cat pokemon as she like cat type pokemons." Dr Theo added
"So everyone with affinity need to train to their specific types?" Ed asked as he remembered that most trainer in animation and games have different type of pokemon aside for gym leaders and elite four.
"No, they can still train with other type of pokemon but they can bring more of their pokemon potential if they train a pokemon in their affinity. Base on the research when a trainer with the same affinity pokemon with their pokemon is stronger than the same species wild pokemon and also they can help the pokemon more cultivate smoothly."
Dr. Theo explained further, hearing this nod as he digest the informations he got.
"Now can I get my pokemon?" Wallace said as he was eager to get his starter pokemon.
"Right but wait for Young Steven to know his affinity" Dr. Theo said as he gestured to Steven to touch the crystal.
"You have the highest affinity in both steel and rock type pokemon" Dr. Theo told Steven his affinity
"Hahahaha, maybe because he always with his rare minerals and stones as always" Wallace joked as the other giggled.
"Now let us meet the pokemons" Dr. Theo went to the table and opened the first pokeball. As the white light showed up after as it formed a pokemon.
"This is Mudkip, a water type pokemon and also one of the official starter pokemon of Hoenn" Seeing the Mudkip Wallace stare at it as he remembered the Milotic of Juan and he couldn't help but compare it. Ed on the other hand saw Mudkip's information

"Now choose your pokemon" Dr. Theo told the two to choose their starter.
Wallace immediately pick Mudkip as his starter pokemon as he want to follow Juan's footstep in being a Water type specialist and add it with his affinity so he choose Mudkip.
'Too bad there is no Milotic, it's not as beautiful as Milotic' Wallace complained in his heart. If Dr Theo heard he will reprimand Wallace as Milotic is an Adult pokemon and add being rare to boot.
If Ed heard him he would surely throw a Feebas on his face.
Unlike Wallace who chose his starter based on looks and type, Steven chose Aron when he heard that it was highly recommended by his elders. He also knew that Aron could help him in his dream adventure, searching for rocks as base on studies Aron can sense rare metals and rocks.
After the two finished choosing their starter, Dr. Theo gave them the pokeballs of their chosen pokemon. Unlike in the animation where new trainers are given pokedex this time there are no pokedex given due to it not being invented or released yet.
"Right, I want to recommend you to enter the training camp of the alliance." Dr. Theo endorsed the training camp. Ed hearing this couldn't help but get excited about the training camp as not only Juan recommended it but also his elders.
"What's in the camp? Is it different in our school camping?" Wallace asked
"Are there caves where you could find rare rocks?" Steven has different things in his mind. Which gained him the look of everyone.
¯\_〳 •̀ o •́ 〵_/¯ "What? Is there a problem going to camp and finding a cave? Also in our school camp there's a nearby cave but I only found a hard rock." Steven said when he saw everyone was looking at him.
"You're really hopeless, how come you have that hobby?" Luvia asked ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌
"I need to go to the arena to train with my pokemon." Wallace on the other hand didn't wait for an explanation and rushed outside to train his new pokemon.
'Is Wallace always like this?' Ed couldn't help but exclaimed silently
Winona followed Wallace when Luvia asked her to follow Wallace as I and Steven followed after her.
While walking Ed remembered his mission so he talked with Steven.
"Steven, you said you're searching for rare rocks?"
"Yes" Steven nodded because being exposed to research about rare minerals and using them to create new items and also collecting them for collection.
Ed took out a rock with a leaf in the middle.
"How about this? I saw it when me and my pokemon were roaming in the flower park."
"A leaf stone!" Steven, seeing many leaf stones before, was shocked and excited. Because he could only see them but not own them. So he looked left and right before saying to Ed. Afraid someone will notice and take this baby
"How about you sell it to me?" Steven said as his eyes shined looking at the stone
"Huh?" Ed was shocked because he only plan on showing the stone not sell but thinking that he couldn't use it and he had many in his inventory so he certainly could sell one for money.
"Sure, how much is it?"
"Um, the present price of evolutionary stone is 5,000 pokedollars. But I didn't bring that much money, I just brought 1000 pokedollars." Steven remembered that he didn't bring enough money to buy a stone.
"Then just 1000 then after all I just found it and if it wasn't a leaf stone I could just refund it." Ed said
They didn't know that the elders saw them as they were watching the children in Vince's office.
"Oh Talya did your grandson found something again" Vince said as he combined Ed finding the master ball and now the leaf stone even though they don't know if it was real but a it's still rare. Ed was a treasure magnet.
Back to the children after finishing a deal Steven and Ed walked to the stadium. They saw Walkace learning his pokemon's attacks.
"How about we have a battle?"
Seeing Steven and Ed coming Wallace asked them. Hearing this Steven was excited that he went to the other part of the arena.
"Then I will be the referee" Ed immediately proposed as he rushed to the center outer part of the arena.
"Now trainers bring out your pokemon!"
Steven and Wallace smiled as they heard this and released their pokemon (Wallace returned Mudkip to its pokeball). Mudkip to its pokeball).
"Mudkip take the stage"
"Aron come on out"
"Raaa"
"Muuud"
"Battle begin!"
"Mudkip, water gun!" Mudkip eject wategun towards Aron
"Aron Mud Slap" Aron used it's small front legs to slash the ground as Mud was hoping to block the water gun but before the two attack clashed the two attacked dispersed.
"Aron get closer Tackle" Steven instruct Aron
"Mudkip growl" With this status move Aron stopped for a moment and seeing this and with his training in trainer school and under Juan, Wallace commanded Mudkip "Water Gun!"
When Steven heard this he ordered Aron with Harden and endured the atack.
"Iron Head!" Steven immediately instruct Aron after the water gun is gone and due to small distance now Aron attack hit Mudkip. Mudkip step backs from the force.
"Tackle!" the two commands at the same time and the two pokemon bump into each other and after a moment the two lost their combat ability. Seeing that the two pokemon is not standing up Ed called off the match as a draw.
"The match is a draw!"
Wallace and Steven take their pokemon back as Wallace said that next time they battle it will be his win.
The elders who's looking in the office talk about the children's battle.
"Hahaha seeing them reminds me of when I first got my starter pokemon. " Elder Gritt said as he watched the two kids battle.
"Yeah, you remind me when we battle and you got your first lost" Elder Reluya said
"Wha-" Elder Witt is speechless when she said that
"Hahaha hahaha" Everyone in the room laughed
While the elders are having fun Luvia came with Dr. Theo.
"Oh I want to challenge you guys myself but you already tired yourselves." Dr. Theo said
"How about me Dr. Theo?" Ed, inspired by the battle between Steven and Wallace also want to try it himself.
"You want to battle?" Theo hearing this was surprised as he knew that in the room Ed was 2nd youngest. His goal is wanting to teach the children so he could only comply.
"Sure then" He released Torchic
"Then, Then I will be the referee" Wallace want to try being the referee.
"Then I choose you Budew"
