Chapter 18

In the wild, a Flygon and a Garchomp would leave their child alone after it hatched, or when their cubs reached the beginner stage they left the child to fend for itself. 

As this characteristic and behavior were due to survival, they could protect their young against strong and big Pokemons but also it was like training for them.

But Grandma's Flygon who was hatched and trained by humans since young lost the behavior of wild pokemons leaving their children. But it doesn't mean that they're not willing to let their child go. On the other hand, they want their child to have trainers like them that could help them grow. 

Flygon and Garchomp were happy that their cubs were safe. The dragon couple saw Cynthia doing her best to take care of their cubs and couldn't help but feel that it was fate. That she and their child could achieve greatness together. 

Ed on the side was disregarded by the couple. Ed was assisting Cynthia and also cursing his predecessor's trauma on Garchomp in his mind as every time he wanted to help he would see Garchomp even though he wasn't afraid he would still freeze for a moment. 

But everyone was confused as they just knew that Flygon was pregnant and that it was still too long for her due. 

The elders ponder on what could hasten the growth and birth of Flygon's cubs. It's more impossible because she's giving birth to twins or else this premature birth would kill one of the cubs. 

Then Grandma Talya and Grandpa Yun remembered about the water Ed gave to the Pokemon but what confused them was that Gyarados was still not giving birth. 

Grandma Talya wanted to confirm her theory so she asked Gyarados. Gyarados answered that she felt an increase in her strength and level as she had a huge jump in her level as she was close to champion rank. When she drank the life water she could feel energy being absorbed into her body. 

On the other hand, Flygon didn't feel any energy absorbed into her own body but she could sense some energy went to her unborn cubs. 

When the elders confirmed their suspicion they couldn't help but be amazed at how beneficial Ed's life water is. 

Grandpa Yun explained to Jin how Ed got the water and its connection to Ed's awakening. 

Cynthia heard the conversation between the two grandpas and couldn't help but want to awaken a special ability. So after she and Ed left the place when they were instructed to by the adults she asked Ed about it. 

Ed who heard his cousin's request was hesitant as he didn't activate his special ability with the water and he didn't know if this could really affect human

'System could it help?'

'... Okay, I give up I just hope this thing can help Cynthia' 

"Here sister, I don't know if it could help you but it's never bad to try" 

Cynthia happily took the bottle as she immediately drank the water. After she drank the water Ed saw that Cynthia shone as aura was released by her but all of it receded. 

'If she wasn't my cousin I would have done my best to court her'

After Ed received the award he immediately used it and he saw a panel on top of Cynthia.

Ed saw Cynthia's talent was inclined to the future her. 

Cynthia was confused for a second as she didn't feel anything. She looked at Ed and noticed that her cousin was looking at her in a daze. 

"What's the problem?" 

"Um.. your body brightens like an angl- I mean Lanturn illuminating the dark sea" 

Ed wants to say she's beautiful but part of him which he knew his synchronization from Sol doesn't want to flatter his big sis. 

"Really?" 

Luckily Ed didn't continue saying angler fish or else Ed would have a problem with his beautiful cousin. 

"I didn't feel anything" 

"Sis, aren't most abilities related to pokemon?" 

"You're right how could I forget about that" 

"Sis I think your ability is more related to battle." 

"Really? Hehehe" Cynthia smiled

'yep cute' Ed thought

"You changed Ed" Cynthia said

"Changed?" 

"Before you would always say words that I won't like. Maybe because you were ill before? But I still like the present you." Cynthia smiled

When Ed and Cynthia were preparing to enter their room*. They saw two hanging pokemon in the corridor. It was Cleffa and Wurmple but what confused Ed was who could use string shot to bind the two pokemon. 

Ralts opened Ed's door and saw the confused gaze of his trainer and his cousin. So he could only explain and if they still couldn't understand he would use telepathy on Ed again. 

But moments later Ralts was shocked because the one who understood him first was Cynthia and not his trainer who has the ability to feel pokemon emotions. 

"So you are saying that you challenge Wurmple to a battle with a bet that if it won't battle it couldn't eat food for tomorrow?" 

Ralts could only slowly nod his head. His battle against Wurmple is to make Wurmple use his String shot and he would use it back to both Wurmple and Cleffa. 

Ed was shocked as he knew Cynthia could feel the pokemon's intent but not their growl and action. So he asked Cynthia. 

"I just feel the intention of what Ralts wants to convey from his actions and eyes. This, Mom! Grandpa!" Cynthia ran down as she excitedly wanted to convey the news. When she finished drinking the life water she thought that she failed to activate any ability but she was shocked that she could sense the intent of Ralts on its movement. Even though she needs some time to process the information she is still happy that she has an ability. 

Ralts was confused as to what happened to Cynthia. Ed smiled as he looked at how excited Cynthia was. 

'Right system, in the original do Cynthia have some sort of ability?' 

[She has but it was through her hard work. She couldn't activate the ability to sense the intention of a pokemon. Most of her talent or ability was related to battle] 

'I see' 

Ed turned his attention back to his pokemons as he listened to Ralts recounting what happened. Ed looked at his two pokemons who were dangling from the ceiling. 

'Both of you behave okay' Ed told his pokemon. Cleffa and Wurmple nodded their heads as their eyes were pleading for mercy. 

He could only sigh as he asked Ralts to unbound the duo. Cleffa hugged Ed as she cried and he could only carry the little one as he placated her. 

When Wurmple was put to the ground its stomach grumbled. He looks at Ed with his big eyes wanting the permission of his trainer to eat food. 

Ed was helpless as Wurmple is such a glutton.

"Okay let's get some food" 

As Ed said that he saw Pikachu (Zeraora) running towards him. Both he and Ralts could feel the anxiousness of it. 

"Pika-pika pi pika pi pika pipikapi" Zeraora's action was so chaotic but Ed knew that the only thing that could make this pokemon anxious was the Togepi egg. 

"I understand, everyone, let's go down. Zera leads the way" 

 So with Zeraora in the lead, the group arrived at the place where the elders put the eggs to incubate. He saw Zeraora pointing to the Togepi egg. 

When he looked at the egg he saw that it was glowing but when he came closer to the egg it stopped glowing. 

"Hmm.. So Zera, could you tell me what happened?" 

"Pi-ka" Pikachu told him that while he was guarding the egg a human girl passed by and the egg shone brightly. He was anxious about what happened to the egg so he instinctively searched for Ed, the brat with Jirachi and Celebi's scent. 

Ed nods as he thinks that it was Cynthia who passed by. He also remembered that Togepi is more inclined and energized to have a positive and happy aura around it. 

Then Ed suddenly remembered that Cynthia also had a Togekiss in her champion team. Then add to Gyarados being pregnant which has the probability of being Milotic, and there are also Roserades in the ranch that could give birth to a Budew. Except for Lucario, Gastrodon, and Spiritomb most of her team could be found here at the elders' house. 

'Uhh.. why do I feel that most pokemon of Cynthia will come here' 

Ed tried touching the egg under the doubtful gaze of Zeraora but the egg didn't shine. 

'Why do I feel fate let me take this egg so that Cynthia could obtain it? But I won't give away Zeraora .' 

Ed then suddenly remembered the two soulless eggs and almost forgot to put the two eggs in his pocket dimension. And the time limit was almost finished. 

'Heavens!' 

So he took the two soulless eggs and put them in the pocket dimension. Zeraora who saw Ed's immediately put himself between the Togepi egg and Ed. 

"Am I really untrustworthy? Don't worry I won't put the egg in the pocket dimension." 

Zeraora looks at Ed before lying on the table and closes its eyes.

Ed smiled as he left the place to take his hungry Wurmple to eat.

After eating his fill, Wurmple's body began to glow and Wurmple spit silk upward to cover itself with Silk. Ed was startled at first but when he saw that Wurmple was not in trouble it was evolving. 

When the glowing light receded, the once Wurmple became a Silcoon.

Ed was confused about Silcoon's new aptitude. Instead of increasing his aptitude, it turned into bronze. But the system told him that most bug-type pokemon in their cocoon stage would have a lower aptitude from their pre-evolve form. 

But the cocoon stage is where the pokemon could absorb and condense their essence so that when they evolve they would have higher aptitude than their past forms. 

Hearing the explanation of the system Ed sighed in relief, afraid that he had done something that could destroy his pokemon's potential. 

"Congratulations Silcoon" Ed complimented his newly evolved pokemon. 

"Everyone let's celebrate with our moomoo milk" Ed announced as it was a joyous celebration. He took out the moo-moo milk from his inventory.

While Ed was celebrating with his pokemon. Cynthia excitedly told the elders about her awakening. 

The elders had a shocked expression and couldn't help but exclaim the miracle of the water. 

"But that's weird because the other kid didn't awaken any ability from drinking." Grandma Talya said

"The highest possibility is that because Ed and Cynthia have the bloodline from the Shirona clan for Cynthia and Ed from you guys." Grandpa Yun speaks out about his deduction. 

"If those families with ability lineage would be greedy on this" Grandpa Jin smirked. 

Ralia was happy for her daughter as she and Cynthia talked. She wants to know the future plan of her daughter so that now she has an ability. Even small it was still an ability. 

But Ralia was surprised that her daughter wanted to train here with the elders before starting her own journey as a trainer. But what surprised her more is that her daughter wants to follow her grandmother

's footsteps in researching Sinnoh's past. 

"No matter what you choose, as long as it won't be bad for you we will support you all the way, dear" Ralia hugged her daughter.
