1. Dead? Not Really

A boy sat on the bench. He held his phone while sighing. He played build and strategy game for five years. And now, the game almost closed after almost no one playing. He looked at his inventory and smiled weakly. It was basically a treasure trove. He never use any speedup or hero special equipments. He event never use general heroes fragments!

For the five years, he enjoyed being F2P player. For five years, he held his desire to top up for in-game currencies. He simply didn't have money to defeat whales. It's waste of his pocket money to compete with them.

He closed the game and pocketed his phone. He stood up from the bench and took his backpack.

"Well, life is never fair. At least I really enjoyed this game."

And bang!

A stray bullet hit his head.

He was dead. The F2P boy simply dead just like that.

The youth woke up in the strange room. He rose up from the bed while massaging his head. He doesn't know what going on. He simply felt unbearable pain at his forehead and then he woke up here.

Suddenly someone entered the room. A beautiful female with Asian traits stood beside him.

"Thankfully you are fine, Governor." She said.

The youth narrowed his eyes and asked. "Who are you? What about Governor? Me?"

He saw the lady sighed.

"Let me introduce my self. I'm Jeanne Wu, Your deputy. And you are our Governor, the highest in command..." She explained all the basic he need to know.

After digesting and Q&A for around two hours, he finally understood his current situation.

His name is Raden, one of choosen players from Earth. He was second batch of player who need to stay alive inside a real strategy game.

The game randomly choose players around the world. Total players is one hundred. Fifty is Governor, the rest is Deputy.

He opened his player panel.

Very simple credentials. He had heard Nusantara in his previous life. At least he remember Bali Island, or known as Island of Gods. He had visited Bali before with his colleagues.

And his new name somehow difficult to pronounce. Well, it's not his mom language after all.

Then he looked at in-game inventory.

"Oh my God!"

He saw dazzling array of treasures inside. From Heroes EXP potion to General Heroes Fragments. He tried to inspect all items, and it was his previous life in-game item inside his character's bag.

"What's wrong, Governor?" Jane Wu asked.

Raden, he simply called himself Raden as it's similar to Raiden, didn't immediately respond. He looked at her and asked back.

"Are you basically officer under me?"

She nodded.

Raden nodded back and said. "I know my previous behavior indeed very excessive. So, this is my token of apology."

Raden took two glass bottles with bluish fluid inside.

She was taken a back for a seconds. After a short hesitating, she received it and asked what items it was. Raden explained that these two bottles was an EXP elixir. Different from Governor who need comprehensive territory development as level, Officers or Heroes in online game only need EXP to raise the rank. Despite Jeanne Wu is player like himself, she doesn't exempted from game's rule.

"If you afraid I give you questionable drugs, you can drink it inside your private bedroom." Raden said. He didn't have time to indulge in sexual desire currently. Danger would knock his small territory any time.

Second day inside the real life game. On the territory hall, stood beautiful woman in front of office desk.

" So? "

Jane Wu happily tell her current condition to Raden. His EXP elixir indeed working. She was almost rank up to level 2. She only need to kill two or five mobs outside to level up. Just for reference, from official report, officer needed at least five days to level up by killing mobs.

Raden nodded. "If you swear to be my loyal servant, I can raise you to be formidable officer."

Jeanne Wu looked at Raden in deep gaze. She seemed want to discern his truest intentions. After a brief weighing pros and cons, she decided to agree. Her only condition was her family is eligible to move here if he successfully developed his territory.

Raden agreed immediately. He provided five golden EXP elixir. "With these elixir, you can rise to level 20 in an instant. You can recruit your own aide."

It was well known to all that level 20 officers can recruit their own aide to help their task and groomed his/her aide to be another officer. These information was available in FAQ.

But in reality, no first generation officer could recruit one as their base territories got burned by the mobs and bosses first before they could recruit one.

Without hesitation, Jeanne Wu drank all EXP elixirs and undergo series of level up. After the last bottle empty, she raised to level 25. She genuinely happy. She is the first officer capable recruiting an aide.

Raden asked the benefit of level up and Jean Wu explained to him thoroughly.

First, her Strength, Dexterity, and Endurance increased one point each, per level up. So, her total stats was increased 24*3. For comparison, first month of mobs only at level 12. So, with her basic stats alone, she could clean peripheral territory.

Second benefit is talent tree. She has Field Combat talent tree, General talent tree, and Assault talent tree. Each talent tree is important, but Raden told her to develop her Field Combat talent tree and Assault talent tree according his instructions. Why he intervene her talent matter? Although the talent tree was different from his beloved talent tree from the previous online game, he had prior experience in managing these talent tree.

Field Combat and Assault talents would be useful in open field combat again mobs and other players. It was boldly stated at FAQ that player could attack each other. Of course, the best talent for attacking base territory is Siege Talent. But no one is perfect. Raden understood it very well.

Currently, his territory had 100 Infantry, 45 Rider, and 10 Marksman. He commanded Jeanne Wu to clean surrounding mobs to collect resource drops.
