Backbone of the Pyros

Xiangling was resting peacefully that lovely morning, she wanted to sleep before she had work to do, but that's when Hu Tao surprised her. "Wake up, Hothead, you have work to do" she laughed. "Nonsense, what right do you have calling me a hothead, and besides it's not time anyways" fumed Xiangling. "You're ten minutes past due, but I think that you were avoiding your job intentionally" she said playfully. "What are you on about?" asked Xiangling, while Hu Tao just snickered and went for her own work. When Amber told Xiangling that she had to deliver crates, she was furious. "I'm not delivering dirty and heavy crates up the hill, it messes me up severely" she complained. "I'm sorry, Xiangling, but you have to do it" assured Amber. "No I won't!" said Xiangling, then she sat down and didn't budge. Amber didn't fool with Xiangling's nonsense, so she told everyone to try to coax her into work. Xiangling just grumbled and shooed everyone away, except Hu Tao. "You know, Xiangling, you need to come to terms that you have jobs that you don't wanna do, but you have to, remember what Amber said to Chevreuse, 'All good Pyros must have resilience'" "Then I shall share my resilience too, I'm still not moving and that's that" "Alright, suit yourself, why not take a nice swim" said Hu Tao cheekily. That gave Xiangling a bright idea. She went into the water near the high tide to lie about her being frozen so that she could get out of work. Quite naturally, the water froze, Xiangling was stuck, Hu Tao just laughed. "Should've learned from Bennett, but oh well, you have resilience after all, am I right?" joked Hu Tao, leaving Xiangling in a spot of embarrassment. "Xiangling, I am most disappointed of you, you need to learn the true value of hard work, that's why I'm suspending you from working at Mondstadt and Liyue, and you shall be working at Sumeru for the time being" Amber said importantly. "But Amber, I-" "Stow it, you'll start tomorrow morning, now go home at once!" she snapped. "Oh my, putting Xiangling in Sumeru is not a good idea" whispered Hu Tao to Bennett. "Why not?" he asked. "Because of Mona and Tiga, I already know some issues are gonna spawn from there" "Ah well, don't worry, Hu Tao, hopefully Klee, Nahida and everyone will keep them in order" "I sure hope so too" finished Hu Tao. Next morning, Xiangling came in still fuming. "Greetings, Xiangling" smiled Nahida. "Now your jobs here will be very simple, you just need to carry crates and wagons here" "Nahida, can I only pull wagons please?" "I said and crates, Xiangling, Amber told me about your recent incident, so you must know that we Dendros tackle any jobs" finished Nahida firmly. "What's the eggroll doing here, she's supposed to be at Mondstadt" complained Mona. "Now don't you start with me, hag, I don't wanna deal with your foolishness now or ever" said Xiangling. "I'll keep being foolish, you mind not dipping into water all the time, you dirty, oh let me rephrase, muddy Asian" said Mona, Lisa was watching the entire thing with interest. "Fine, whatever, just let me do my job" she said while storming. "That Pyro, as much as she means well, she needs to learn how to speak plainly" remarked Tiga. "Just give her time, Tiga, she's still learning" Yaoyao said. Xiangling was doing her first few jobs with no problem, but she did get annoyed of Mona's insults and Tiga's remarks. "I'm tired of being insulted by a mediocre astrologist and a fox who's months behind on needing a manicure!" she exclaimed at once. "Mediocre, at least we get out jobs done, you just wanna be picky because you believe you're the best Pyro, you're simply in denial of who you are" shot Mona. "And besides, you barely can climb hills yourself, they named it Xiangling's Hill for a reason, you know" put in Tiga. "I don't put on a fake persona unlike you, Mona, and Tiga, I've helped multiple people climb the hill, and I know you're not talking, you just clawed and gnawed" Soon, Yaoyao lost her patience. "Will you three shut up, you guys act like literal children, Xiangling, keep your mouth shut before I move you somewhere else, and Mona, nobody cares about your self image but you, and Tiga, stop speaking pungently and get those wagons up that hill, got it?!" "Got it" they all unanimously agreed. "You know, Mona, I think-" "Shut up, Lisa" Lisa just shrugged her shoulders and rested. Presently, Mona had to deliver some wagons of gravel to the bridge that separates both Mondstadt and Liyue, they dug a mine under it so they could rebuilt a new bridge. Mona saw that it was deep, so she wanted to explore herself, she jumped in and forgot about the wagons, they rolled down and covered her all over. "Oh dear, now Xiangling and Lisa will laugh at me again" she sighed. "Mona's had an accident down the mins, anyone willing to help?" asked Nahida. "You know, I will save ol' Mona, fell down a mine, hahaha" laughed Xiangling. "That's odd of Xiangling to say" spoke Tiga quietly. Mona was not quite keen on seeing Xiangling. "Oh, Xiangling, I am really stupid for trying this, please don't laugh" "Ah well", she said while pulling her out, "It's not the first time something like this has happened, guess you say both of us have been "in depth", get it?" Mona laughed, "Yes, I do, but can you do me a favor, shall we form an alliance, you helped me therefore I can help you" "Sure, but what are you suggesting?" asked Xiangling. "Just follow me back to Mondstadt, ok" comforted Mona. When the two arrived, Xiangling was a little nervous. "Listen Amber, Xiangling helped me while I was stuck at an mine and has done her jobs quite splendidly, so can she come back here for work?" asked Mona. "Well after hearing that, sure, welcome back, Xiangling!" Amber happily announced. Everyone cheered and hollered for Xiangling, meanwhile she just winked at Mona before she left, now becoming true allies.
