Chapter 339: Sealed with an Idiot

"Paper Clone Jutsu," Konan said coolly.

One Konan after another emerged, diving straight at Obito.

At the same time, dozens more Konans unfurled their wings and flew toward the masked man controlling the Great Buddha.

"Yah-ho!"

The masked man was startled and quickly darted into the remnants of the Great Buddha statue.

Obito's expression shifted slightly as well.

Just because he could control regular ninjutsu didn't mean he was completely immune to it.

The effects were simply minimal.

Explosive tags were the same.

Use enough of them, and even as the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki, he still had to fall back.

Obito lifted into the air.

Konan's paper clone also soared upward.

Wings unfurled from her back, making her look like an angel descending from the heavens.

"This woman…"

Obito's gaze turned cold.

His advantage was aerial combat.

But Konan could fly too.

In a way, at this very moment, Konan posed just as much of a threat to Obito as Tobirama or Minato.

The others, while not weak, weren't quite as dangerous.

The battlefield once again settled into a tense stalemate.

"Cough, cough!"

Naruto hacked up a mouthful of blood, gasping heavily for breath.

Yako was beside him, using medical ninjutsu to treat his wounds.

"The Nine-Tails…"

Naruto said hoarsely, "He's after the Nine-Tails."

"More precisely, he's after all the Tailed Beasts," Tobirama said as he approached. "I've been keeping an eye on him to stop any move against the others. But you…"

Naruto had always been charging ahead at the front lines.

That gave Obito his opening.

"Can't be helped!" Naruto grinned through the pain and slowly forced himself to stand. "After all, I'm a Sage!"

"You…"

Tobirama looked at him, stunned. "You're planning to keep fighting?"

"Of course!" Naruto rolled his shoulders and stretched, still smiling. "I'm the future Hokage, aren't I?"

Tobirama stared at him for a long moment, then said in a deep voice, "Don't fight just yet. First, share some of your Sage chakra with the others. And more importantly, figure out a way to merge the Nine-Tails' chakra with your Sage Mode. If you can do that, your power will increase dramatically."

Naruto nodded thoughtfully. While maintaining Sage Mode, he let the Nine-Tails' chakra begin to burn around him.

"Like this?"

"You…"

This time, Tobirama was completely speechless.

This kid—who seemed so careless and loudmouthed—was this talented?

He'd only mentioned it once, and Naruto had already done it?

And not just any fusion—this was combining two immense energy systems: Sage Mode and the Nine-Tails' chakra.

Could even Big Brother, with his 'clap-your-hands-and-make-it-happen' attitude, have pulled this off?

"Naruto!" Minato exclaimed with delight. "How did you manage to do that?"

Naruto burst out laughing. "I have no idea! It just kind of… happened!"

"…"

...

"You idiot!"

Kurama roared from within Naruto, cursing him harshly.

Using Nine-Tails chakra and Sage Mode simultaneously?

What a joke.

Did he really think it was because he had some kind of earth-shattering talent?

The only thing earth-shattering was his talent for stupidity.

The truth was simple: Kurama had agreed to it. His chakra wasn't resisting, and the nature energy from Sage Mode was inherently inclusive and adaptable.

That was the only reason it worked.

And why had Kurama agreed?

Because of his deal with Uchiha Funan. What else?

A measly frog's power—if Kurama hadn't given the green light, Naruto could dream all he wanted about synchronizing with his chakra.

In his dreams, maybe.

So what if it had a bigger body or was called a sage? In Kurama's eyes, a frog was still just a frog. Not even worth mentioning.

Kurama hadn't wanted to take part in this war at all.

He didn't care about Konoha's side or the Uchiha's. Frankly, if they all died, that'd be ideal.

But...

He was currently in a deal with Uchiha Funan—the only person who could actually help him.

If Madara won… well, Kurama didn't even want to imagine what that would mean for him.

So all he could do… was bet on Funan.

"Sigh…"

For the first time in his long life, Kurama let out a deep, helpless sigh.

For the first time, he felt weak.

Even as the so-called strongest Tailed Beast—even when just half of him was enough to beat the Eight-Tails into submission—he was still utterly powerless before someone like Uchiha Madara.

...

"G-Good!" Tobirama said stiffly. "In that case, can you share that power with the others?"

He gestured around. "Just like them. Can you pass on both Nine-Tails' chakra and the Sage's chakra?"

"Of course I can! Leave it to me!" Naruto grinned and smacked his fist into his palm, full of excitement. "I'll protect everyone!"

Inside his mind—

Kurama: "…"

If it weren't for my deal with Uchiha Funan, I'd have eaten you by now!

So quick to share my power—have you ever stopped to think that this power doesn't even belong to you?

It's mine, you little brat. Who do you think you are, acting like it's yours to give away?

Kurama was fuming.

How the hell had he ended up sealed inside this lunatic?

Always reckless.

Always causing trouble.

And now he was giving away his chakra like it was candy.

Had it never occurred to him what would happen once he drained too much of the Nine-Tails's power?

Forget everything else—this idiot got himself hurt all the time. If he gave away too much of the Nine-Tails' strength, he'd be the first one to die.

Because the Nine-Tails wouldn't have enough chakra left to heal him.

Just now—who did Naruto think healed him so fast?

What, did he think the Nine-Tails' power was infinite?

Outside, Naruto quickly went from one person to the next—touching each of the Kage-level and jonin present, sharing the Nine-Tails' chakra and Sage Mode with them.

"So strong…"

Itachi stared at his hand, murmuring, "So this is the Nine-Tails' power?"

In that moment, something clicked for him.

No wonder Sasuke had always been so obsessed with becoming a jinchūriki.

With power like this—and Uchiha abilities on top of it—one could practically become invincible.

Itachi then recalled what Funan had once told him.

Even if Funan stepped down as Hokage, he would make sure the Uchiha clan's future was secure.

The Tailed Beasts.

Funan had quietly told Itachi that from his generation onward, every Uchiha clan leader would form a contract with a Tailed Beast.

This too was part of Funan's agreement with them.

This was Funan's final gift to the Uchiha clan.

And the tailed beast he chose? It wasn't the strongest Nine-Tails.

No.

It was two beasts.

One was the Three-Tails.

The other—the Seven-Tails.

One lived in the water, and the other could soar through the skies.

Among all the tailed beasts, these two were the most unique.

Water and sky—two extremes.

This was the Uchiha's last fallback.

"With tailed beasts like these, the Uchiha clan will never fall again."

Under Funan's careful planning, there were only three people left in the world who could pose a threat to the Uchiha.

Uchiha Madara.

Senju Hashirama.

Uchiha Funan.

Such individuals—how many times had they appeared in history?

As long as they were removed from the equation, the Uchiha could carry on, even if their strength waned.

...

Obito stared down at the shinobi below—each one cloaked in Nine-Tails chakra. His eyes narrowed in frustration.

Again.

Every time he thought he'd finally become invincible, more people showed up who could actually hurt him.

Again and again, they stood in his way.

Was this heaven's punishment?

Was this... his fate?

Bullshit.

Rin...

I will see you again!

Obito's eyes gleamed with ferocity.

I don't believe in gods.

And I don't believe in fate!

"Everyone, charge!" Naruto let out a loud howl.

Unfortunately... no one moved.

Even a couple of jonin, who'd half-lifted their arms to follow, glanced around awkwardly and quietly lowered them again.

It was a little... embarrassing.

But Naruto didn't seem to feel it at all. With a shout, he lunged forward.

A Rasengan swirled in his palm.

With the Nine-Tails' power pouring in, the small orb began to expand—until it became a massive Rasengan over a hundred meters wide.

Obito's expression turned icy. His Truth-Seeking Ball morphed into a spear, his gaze locked coldly onto Naruto.

[Whoosh!]

Just then, a figure suddenly appeared behind Obito.

"You—!"

Obito's eyes flicked backward, filled with shock.

Flying Thunder God?

Impossible!

He'd been so careful. He had specifically guarded against that technique.

So how—how had Minato still managed to teleport right behind him?

Still full of doubt, Minato slammed a Rasengan infused with both Sage Mode and Nine-Tails chakra directly into Obito's back.

[BOOM!!!]

With a thunderous crash, Obito was sent plummeting from the sky, smashing into the ground below.

"Yes!" Naruto shouted, hurling his own Rasengan forward.

At the same time, the others began channeling chakra infused with Sage and Nine-Tails energy into their attacks as well.

In an instant—

Explosions rang out one after another.

The earth itself trembled as if crying out in pain.

Dozens of Kage-level shinobi.

Hundreds of jonin.
