Chapter 340: Still Not Dead?

When the assault finally ended, everyone held their breath, waiting for the result.

After that, there's no way the enemy came out unscathed... right?

Otherwise, what's even the point of fighting?

Just drop to your knees and surrender already.

[Whoosh!]

Right when anticipation reached its peak, a figure flickered into view—right in front of Minato.

[BOOM!!!]

Minato reacted fast—but not fast enough.

One of his legs was severed.

Obito launched into a frenzied attack, his staff swinging wildly, landing dozens of devastating blows in mere seconds.

By the time the others reacted and moved to strike back, Obito had already withdrawn.

Minato was left in a horrifying state.

One arm. One leg.

The rest of his body battered and broken. Even his face was missing a chunk.

Fortunately, he was Minato—master of the Flying Thunder God Technique.

If it had been anyone else... they'd already be dead.

"Fourth Hokage!"

Tobirama stepped up to Minato, looked him over, and said in a low voice, "As I suspected. The enemy's attacks—Edo Tensei or not—can't be healed. The areas you've been injured won't recover."

Minato gave a faint, bitter smile.

"Good thing it was us Obito targeted."

If it had been someone else, they might've died on the spot from wounds like those.

At the very least, they'd have lost all combat ability.

But Tobirama disagreed.

"If he'd attacked someone else, that would've actually been better. Unfortunately, the bastard's not stupid. He knows we're the biggest threat to him."

Minato pressed his lips together and stayed silent.

He had been Hokage once. He knew better than to say something childish or naive.

Of course—

Minato wasn't exactly known for being the most rational person.

If he were…

He wouldn't have thrown everything away and died alongside Kushina back then.

If he'd made a different choice, the entire shinobi world might have turned out differently.

"Bastard!!"

A furious roar echoed across the battlefield.

Naruto?!

Both Minato and Tobirama turned their heads in alarm.

Naruto was charging straight toward Obito, roaring at the top of his lungs.

Chakra flared out from him, forming a massive hand that slammed downward.

[Whoosh!]

This time, Obito didn't take the attack head-on. He dodged it.

But Naruto didn't let up—he launched into a wild, relentless assault.

Seeing this, Sasuke immediately activated his Susanoo and joined the charge without hesitation.

As Naruto fought, he began to transform.

The colossal form of the Nine-Tails emerged, enveloping him in chakra.

"Take this!!"

Naruto roared as the fox opened its mouth wide, a massive Tailed Beast Bomb forming before it.

"DIE!"

[BOOM!!!]

As the Tailed Beast Bomb hurtled toward him, Obito's Truth-Seeking Balls finally moved.

They formed into a black sphere that shielded him completely.

The explosion was enormous—but the black sphere held firm.

"I see," Tobirama muttered, frowning slightly. "That's how he avoided our attacks earlier."

"ROAAAAR!!"

A deafening cry rang out as a giant paper dragon spiraled through the air and dove toward Obito.

Konan!

The Paper Bomb Dragon!

[RUMBLE!!!]

The paper dragon clamped down on the black sphere and began exploding nonstop.

Each blast chipped away at its defenses.

Inside, Obito's face twisted slightly with strain.

Soon, Naruto and Sasuke added their own attacks to the barrage.

As for the other Kage-level fighters and jōnin, many had already begun retreating.

After fighting this long, their chakra was nearly spent.

They couldn't afford to collapse on the battlefield—if they couldn't keep going, they needed to pull back and recover.

Staying would only slow everyone else down.

"Increase the pressure! Don't let up!"

Tobirama barked with urgency, "Now's our chance—go all in!"

Those still standing poured the last of their strength into a desperate, frenzied assault.

So what if Obito had that black sphere?

We'll smash it to pieces!

Their expressions were crazed, fierce, driven by sheer determination.

Cracks began to form across the black sphere's surface.

"…Hm?"

Uchiha Madara, who was still pressing Hashirama hard on the other side of the battlefield, suddenly seemed to notice something. A faint smile curled at the corners of his mouth.

"Hashirama… As much as I'd love to keep enjoying our little game—"

"Shut it!! You call this a 'game'?! Be a damn human being for once!" Hashirama cut him off mid-sentence with a furious roar.

He'd been on the receiving end the entire time.

This was what Madara called fun?

Fun for who?!

It sure as hell wasn't fun for him.

Look at my face—

Even my little brother wouldn't recognize me anymore!

Madara: "…"

"…Heh."

He couldn't help but chuckle.

After a lifetime of battling Hashirama, it was rare to see him this beaten up.

It was truly exhilarating—body and soul.

"Hashirama, I'm very satisfied," Madara said with a smile. "But… it's time to end this."

"End this?"

[Boom!]

Just as Hashirama was about to question him, he was struck head-on by a full-powered blow. His entire body was reduced to dust.

As he watched Hashirama's body begin to regenerate, Madara's gaze grew complex.

"Hashirama… it's almost over. Very soon, everything will come to an end."

[Whoosh!]

He vanished from the scene.

It was time to initiate the final stage of his plan.

Obito… had outlived his usefulness. Now, it was time to wring out whatever value he had left.

...

Meanwhile, the Great Buddha was still under bombardment.

No doubt about it—Konan, armed with her endless supply of explosive tags, was an absolute menace.

Honestly, Funan still couldn't understand how things had played out in the original timeline. With six hundred billion tags at her disposal, she had died without even landing a solid hit? What a joke.

Just look now—how many shinobi were struggling to take down that Buddha?

And now the Buddha was getting pummeled by Konan alone!

Every vital spot of the statue was being blasted relentlessly by explosive tags.

The masked man was completely cowering inside the statue. The moment he dared to show his face, a storm of tags would rain down on him.

He was so terrified, he didn't even twitch inside the statue. It was honestly impressive how well-behaved he was being.

And really—if Konan had decided to go all in, even the Buddha itself would've been blown to bits.

Don't say it's impossible. With enough explosive tags, anything's possible.

...

[Crack! Crack!]

Amid the relentless bombardment, Obito remained huddled within a protective orb of black spheres, silently watching as fractures began to appear across his Truth-Seeking Balls.

"How… how is this happening?"

"Why is this happening…?"

"Rin..."

He sighed deeply.

"I did everything I could," he muttered. "Now… time for one final gamble."

A fierce glint flashed in Obito's eyes.

"Raaahhhh!!!"

With a roar of fury, his Truth-Seeking Balls began rapidly absorbing energy.

[BOOM!!!]

A massive pillar of light erupted upward like a reverse waterfall crashing into the heavens.

A colossal shockwave swept across the land.

Everyone was caught in its path—no exceptions.

"All of you… die!!" Obito hissed coldly.

He refused to believe that anyone could survive this kind of attack.

Not even Uchiha Funan.

The dust gradually settled.

Obito hovered quietly in midair.

His strength had been heavily depleted—he could barely maintain flight.

But he didn't mind. After all, he had eliminated every single enemy.

He gazed up at the sky.

The Eye of the Moon Plan.

Infinite Tsukuyomi.

It was finally about to begin.

Rin...

We're about to be reunited.

As for Minato and the others, Obito had no doubt he'd already taken care of them.

That last blast had flattened everything within several kilometers. There was no way they had survived.

The only possible survivors were Namikaze Minato and Senju Tobirama.

But with just two Flying Thunder God users left, he wasn't worried.

As for the Tailed Beasts—he was sure they were still alive.

They were far more resilient, and they had been some distance away when the attack hit.

That was intentional on his part.

He still needed to absorb the Tailed Beasts to become the true Ten-Tails' jinchūriki.

"It's over."

"It's all over!"

Obito slowly ascended into the sky.

Moon...

Grant me the strength to realize my final wish!

He was in a great mood.

He wanted to fly higher—to take one last, perfect look at the moon.

Then, he would go absorb the heavily wounded Tailed Beasts…

And finally initiate the Eye of the Moon Plan.

[Clang!]

Obito suddenly jerked to a halt mid-flight.

He whipped his head down.

Chains had erupted from behind Yako, wrapping tightly around his leg.

Not only could he not ascend—he was being dragged downward.

Adamantine Sealing Chains!

"You… You're still alive?!"

Obito's eyes widened in disbelief.

The red-haired woman stood like a mountain, her chakra steady and imposing.

[BOOM!!!]

A sharp wave of energy surged forward.

Black flames suddenly erupted on Obito's body—igniting from nothing.

Amaterasu?

Obito's face darkened. He quickly surged his chakra and forcefully expelled the flames.

He turned.

Uchiha Itachi was walking toward him, step by step, his cold gaze locked onto Obito.

His Mangekyō Sharingan radiated overwhelming power.

"You… survived too?"

This time, Obito was truly shaken.

Yako surviving—fine. Maybe her Uzumaki sealing jutsu had saved her.

But Itachi?

Susanoo?

Did he use Susanoo to block the blast?

No, that couldn't be it either.

That final detonation… even Susanoo shouldn't have held up.

[Boom! Boom!]

Just then, several massive figures appeared in front of Obito.

[BAM!]

One of them landed a punch, sending Obito flying through the air.

The Four-Tails!

He was alive too?!

Obito's eyes filled with alarm.

What the hell was happening?!

The beatdown that followed left him completely stunned.

[WHAM!]

The Five-Tails charged in, headbutting him like a freight train.

Then the Six-Tails appeared and unleashed a spray of corrosive mist, launching Obito backward with sheer force.

The One-Tail emerged next, still within Gaara's body. The two coordinated their attack.

One hit!

Obito felt like his entire body was about to be ripped apart.

Gaara's technique—injecting sand into the opponent's body and then controlling it from the inside—was pure agony.

Even after forcing the sand out with everything he had, the pain lingered.

One by one, the other Tailed Beasts joined in, each unleashing their pent-up rage upon him.

Once they were done—

More Susanoo avatars arrived.

Uchiha Fugaku.

Uchiha Komehi.

Uchiha Tetsuhi.

Uchiha Shirayu.

Uchiha Setsuna.

Each Susanoo raised its fists and let loose a relentless barrage on Obito.

Then Pakura, Mei, and the other Kage-level fighters stepped forward.
