The fire was hot, so hot it melted the earth around it. However the Angel still managed to find his footing, and extinguished the flame. Its skin is now a thick black, the once gorgeous hair has been melted off, and the angel's eyes are singed shut. It tried to open its mouth, to speak a plea, or to cry in pain. But nothing came out, just a waspy whine. What was left of its ears shot to and fro. It stumbled to its left, then chose its right. Leaning back and forth, barely holding its ground, the powerful beast fell to its knees.
"Are you an emperor?" Nick asked.
"Somewhat, not really. I'm just a high king, I believe they call me fire Lord."
"To be expected of the Holy knight he keeps worthy men around him."
"You think? I don't think any of us are worthy to be alive."
"What do you mean?"
"You're still so young." He turned around and whispered. "Power above all else."
"As a paladin of the bishop I have no right to kill that beast. So please return him to heaven."
The fire lord nodded, moving towards the beast, when out of nowhere he was tackled by a massive blue tiger, cutting straight through his fire shield. Planting its claws deep into his stomach.
It didn't even take a second for Nick to move into action. He reeded and slammed his fist at seven times power. The beasts got sent tumbling down the hill, a large imprint of a fist stuck in its thick hide. Nick's arm turned into a tangle of muscle and bone, his remaining skin dyed red with blood. Nick's face crumpled in on itself, clinching deeply in pane.
From the fire lord's stomach leaked his intestines. His eyes were sharp like knives.
"Why is a heavily defiant beast here. Jackolon, the guider of souls." The fire lord forced himself to his feet, grabbing the crying Nick and putting him on his back. "I will get you out of here."
He booked it for the main group. From behind the tiger chased.
There's a saying in Siberia, 'tigers never forgive.'
"I'm not fast enough." The fire lord complained.
A group foolishly seeing the chase jumped in between them. Just to be ripped to shreds.
"Run. Run. Run." The fire lord bagged his legs to move. He knew if he just let Nick go he would make it. But he already let too much go in his life. He was not about to leave a new friend.
For a king the fire lord is one of the slowest. His fire power is the only reason he was respected. Anyways no one expects a mage to train physically. Right. The fire lord wished he did.
Arthur spotting the chase ordered for all to retreat, and to avoid the tiger. And so they did. Everyone ran away from the mage as fast as they could. Some to such an extent they were run down by the angels.
The fire lord seeing this wanted to give up hope. All was lost. But his legs kept moving, his will to live burnt strong. He knew if he just waited for the Holy lord they would have a chance of making the tiger retreat. But that was all they could do. There was no snowballs chance in hell they could kill a heavenly defiant monster.
