A massive rip in the fabric of space and time leaves Space command's deep space fleet stuck on the other side of the rift. Meanwhile alien ships from another dimension arrive on Earth en masse on the other side of the divide. Captain Maguire, a decorated graduate of the Space command academy, whose unorthodox approach to duty is also his strength in a desperate bid to defend commands his starship the Sandawana into the rift in a desperate bid to defend Earth. 
Arriving on Earth he initiates the counter attack to repel the alien ships from Earth.  Other starships of  Space command's deep space fleet arrive on Earth to support the Sandawana's fight against the alien ships. Under the vicious barrage of lasers and missiles from Space command's deep space fleet, the alien ships begin to withdraw to their own dimension. But as they retreat the aliens launch a ground operation and take a senior Space fleet officer captive. 
Captain Maguire is forced to pursue the aliens taking the fight to their home world.

Interdimensional, a starship trilogy

"Pilot, climb 70 000feet into the atmosphere", ordered captain Maguire as the Sandawana brought out onto the surface of the ocean. Quickly reconfiguring to flight mode, the Sandawana shot up into the planet's night sky. 


"Switch off navigation lights", ordered captain Maguire. 


"What's the plan?", asked captain Lucinda. 


"I take it 'our wave friends' were watching us shoot up into the night sky. We are going to hover in position for a while. Let them think we have left the planet. After a couple of hours we are going back into the ocean". 


"Hence the navigation lights have to be switched off", remarked captain Lucinda. 


"We are officially not on the planet. Unofficially we 'll get down to what is going on", said captain Maguire. "I get the distinct impression that there is a lot going below the ocean". 


"You suspect the stolen aura is on the planet?", asked captain Lucinda.
