It took a while for Zane to wake up from his Transcension, but while I waited, I simply sat next to Tessa.

She looked at me and sniffed. "You've gotten a lot stronger, haven't you?"

"I have 103,000 Mana now and I'm level 95."

She sucked air and turned to the sky. "You know, since this whole incident my self-pride has been nearly dashed to oblivion."

She had a wry smile on her face as she turned to me. "This Focus mana… Has it really helped you that much?"

I shrugged. "I mean it hasn't hurt me. Did your pride make you unnecessarily confident? Did it get you into the whole mess?"

"Go into your soul and focus on who you are. Focus on your past experiences. Build a basis for your focus from your memories. After that, focus on who you want to become and what you want to do and where Focus will help you reach that goal."

She nodded and then closed her eyes.
