Misunderstanding

All the graduate students present in the common room were first taken aback by what Qamara had just said. Then, they burst into hushed conversations.

Some men gazed at Adam with jealousy, while others glared at him. Meanwhile, the women in the room began gossiping with one another all the while giving knowing looks to the man and the elf.

Adam, despite all the life experiences from the memories and the illusion, couldn't help but feel uncomfortable at how things were unfolding. He cleared his throat and spoke in a voice that was just enough for everyone to hear, "Magus Feno, please don't slander me—"

"Slander?!" Qamara was enraged. "You really believe you asking me out ruins your reputation?! Adam Constantine, you are too full of yourself!"

Adam shot up from his seat and argued, "Don't spew lies, please! I did not ask you out!"
