"W-What did you just say? You want us to escape with the boat?"

"Yes," Haru replied calmly. "It'd be faster to row a small boat than drag this giant ship. If I'm not wrong, the island should be in that direction. So take the map and a compass."

"Do you even know what you are saying?" Akira stared at him in disbelief.

And it wasn't just him—every surviving crew member looked shaken.

"I know what I'm doing," Haru said firmly. "Luckily for us, the weather's stable. You guys won't have trouble finding land—"

"This isn't about the weather!" Akira cut him off, saying, "Y-You're seriously planning to stay back? As bait? While we escape on our own!? How the hell do you expect us to agree with that!?"

The plan—risky as it was—was still the safest option for Haru. After all, to pass the Test, he had to protect everyone. But Akira didn't know that.

And he wasn't the only one who objected.
