The two newly found heretics were brought to be chained next to the frenzied heretic, and shivered in fear. These people had seen how the man next to them had behaved earlier.
The frenzied man seemed to be almost fearless, having disrespected the Mages and Knights with no worry for his wellbeing. That kind of craziness was something that would scare most normal people after all,
The same was the case for the two men.
'Even if we were deemed heretics, we probably should not associate with this crazy heretic.' The two thought the same.
They had seen the knights being a lot harsher with the frenzied man than they were with the cowardly heretic. This allowed them to guess that as long as they were compliant they wouldn't have to suffer too much. Though all this was in their head and they knew nothing of the hardships and suffering they were to face in the future.
The frenzied heretic glanced at the two new addition to the 'group' and scowled.
"Pathetic." He spat at the ground seeing the two shivering men that were no better than the cowardly Heretic.
"Ah!" the two men were scared by this and hurriedly moved, trying to put as much distance as they could between them and the crazy heretic.
The frenzied heretic couldn't be bothered to look at them after a few seconds though and shifted his gaze back to the tent where the testing was still ongoing.
"Soon…" The frenzied Heretic muttered as he glared at the Immortals sitting comfortably at the back of the tent.
Their wings were folded and acted as a soft cushion while they reclined in leisure. They were the least bit bothered about what happened to the people and were merely glancing at it all as if it were a show.
Though in a way it was indeed a novelty to them. It was not everyday they got to see humans after all, and observe their behaviors. With how rarely immortals descended onto the human world, not all of them had actually seen humans with their own eyes.
Especially not the younger immortals who had never been to the human realm. They had been taught about humans and the demons before and only when it was time for them to take on their first mission would they come to the Human world.
This was the case for Immortal Yan, Immortal Wu Lei and Immortal Han Mu too.

At a certain point, a troop of knights returned bringing several people with them. The people following behind them were talking amongst themselves, feeling quite nervous. Similar to the others they were anxious about everything too as they had no idea what was going on.
One hour ago there were demons wreaking havoc everywhere and the next moment they had all been killed in a flash. It was utterly stunning to them and it wasn't until the knights found them that they discovered it was all the 'mercy' of the Immortals.
"We found more survivors, Mage Clor." The knight leading the troop informed.
Mage Clor glanced at the group of survivors and found them to be relatively uninjured.
"Hmm, they seem to be better than the previous ones. Get them to join the queue." Mage Clor ordered.
"At once." The Knight replied before ushering the survivor into the line. "Get in line and stay silent!" he shouted at them.
"Y-yes!" the anxious humans said quickly going to the back.
But just as the humans were moving someone among them came to the front.
"Let me through! I am the supervisor you buffoons!" A rather rotund man pushed the others and presented himself to everyone.
His loud voice caused the three mages and even the Immortals to glance at him. The same could be said for the other people who were very aware about the fat man.
It was a man they were incredibly familiar with as they had to not only see him everyday but also get tormented by him on a daily basis. Asher who saw the man couldn't help but furrow his brows and curse under his breath.
It was the man who had sent him to the prison and inflicted the hardship upon the people he considered his family and friends.
"He's alive?" the people whispered amongst themselves.
"Tidemother's fury! How can he be alive but all our people die to the demons?" Some people cursed openly.
There was no lack of people that hated the supervisor and seeing him alive only sparked the fury in their hearts.
"Who's this?" Mage Clor questioned finding the man rather repulsive.
"He says he's the supervisor of this region but has nothing to prove it." The Knight answered.
"Like I said before, I lost my things in the rush when the demons appeared." The fat man replied. "You all are mages so you should know of me right?" he asked.
But his words seemed to have fallen on deaf ears as the Mage didn't care about the man.
"What do we do with him?" The knight asked, not caring about the fat man either.
"He joins the line." Mage Clor ordered.
"But I am the supervisor! I can prove it! Look at the others, they all know me!" The fat man stated.
"Even if you are one, you will still have to be tested." Mage Rizal stated firmly.
"You heard him, get in line!" The Knight pushed the fat man with ease, showing that he was not joking.
"Ugh! This won't be good for you." The fat man said before walking to join the line begrudgingly.
This increased the length of the line again, and the ones who had 'passed' watched it all. Many feeling schadenfreude seeing the treatment of the supervisor.
"At least he has to go through the same treatment as us."
"It would be even better if he fails the test."
"That would be great!"
Now that the people had found a person to target, they latched onto it as a distraction from the situation.
