Shuffle Playlist: Tragedy by Tatiana Manaois
''Actually, Georgia told us what happened. Bianca was the one at fault. I am also at fault. I shouldn't let such classless people attend my party. But, don't worry, that will be her last time.'' Pat instead apologized.
''Miss Sabrina, you look beautiful in this dress.'' Georgia commented.
''Thank you.'' Sabrina turned towards Vincent and he walked away, ignoring her. 'Will he die if he doesn't act cold?'' She mumbled.
''Sabrina, how about you join me for dinner on a scheduled date? I want to make it up for you.'' Pat asked.
''Dinner will be on me. You don't need to make up for anything. I am glad you didn't kick me out. I shouldn't have acted out no matter how angry I was.'' Sabrina replied with a pleasant smile.
''No, you did the right thing. You addressed the issue right away instead of letting people run with their own narratives. Besides, you are the victim here.'' Pat was very understanding of the situation and didn't hold Sabrina responsible.
''Can I ask you a question?'' Sabrina asked.
''Go ahead.''
''How much does this dress cost? I want to buy it.'' The dress looked expensive, so Sabrina wanted to pay for it instead of taking it for free, if she could.
Pat smiled. ''I'm sorry I can't disclose the amount to you. Vincent was the one who asked for it and he is my friend. If you want to pay it back, why don't you take it up with him?'' Pat asked. It seemed like he was hiding something from Sabrina on purpose. Pat smiled and walked away.
''I understand. Thank you!'' Sabrina smiled and turned to look at Vincent. She didn't know what to think of the situation. He clearly doesn't like her but why… why did he come to her rescue time and again?
''That was quite a scene there. I didn't think you would react that way in front of everyone.'' A man spoke behind Sabrina and she turned to face him.
Sabrina recognized the man. She had heard of him and seen him around but they had never really had a conversation before. He was a producer under UNB Records.
''But I loved your attitude earlier on. This industry is tricky and one must know how to protect themselves. You did well, Miss Van.'' Fernandez looked at Sabrina with admiration. He seemed to be fascinated by her.
Sabrina smiled. ''Mr. Fernadez is mocking me, right? Don't men hate classless women?''
''It's not every man that hates classless women. Elegance is from within and is portrayed outside naturally.'' Fernandez sipped his wine.
''Bianca has a reputation of been hostile to other peers in the industry. This time around, it will take a while before she goes hurting another person. I'm really proud of you and your actions made me realize I misunderstood you before.''
''Enlighten me, please.'' Sabrina looked at him with a curious gaze.
''When I first saw the scandal between you and Vincent, I have to admit. I thought you were one of those girls who clung to rich people. I apologize for judging you without knowing you first.''
''It's nothing…'' Sabrina shifted her gaze towards Vincent. She guessed that was what it looked like when she tried getting closer to him.
''Isn't that Paul Fernandez? I didn't know Miss Sabrina was acquainted with him?'' Georgia mumbled and Vincent heard her. He turned and saw Fernandez chatting with Sabrina and she seemed to be enjoying his company.
Vincent's countenance became strange as he turned and walked away. Sabrina caught sight of him leaving and excused herself and hurried out of the place to catch up with him.
At the lobby, Sabrina caught up with Vincent and called him. ''Mr. Maraj, hold on!''
Vincent had one of his hands inside his side pocket. He stopped when he heard Sabrina's voice and turned to face her.
''Yes, Miss Van! Anything else?''
''I wanted to thank you for helping me back there. Also, the dress, if you could tell me how much it cost, I will pay you back.'' Sabrina spoke.
''Do I look like I lack money?'' For some reason Vincent was angry with Sabrina and she could tell from his voice.
''I…'' Sabrina was speechless. She didn't know what to say to him. He had mistaken her words yet again.
''Aren't you busy? Shouldn't you go back and curry favor with Paul Fernandez since your attempts on me failed?'' Vincent seemed to be mocking her with his words.
Georgia's lips parted in shock as she watched her boss ridicule Sabrina.
''What?'' Sabrina didn't understand how the course of the conversation became about someone she had just met and chatted with for the first time. Her lips parted dryly and no words came out.
''This is why a lot of people distain the entertainment industry.'' Vincent scoffed.
''What are you talking about? Mr. Maraj, don't you think you are going too far? Did I do something wrong to you? In which way have I offended you to warrant this disrespect from you?'' Sabrina asked angrily.
''You take it as disrespect because it is the truth. You've been throwing yourself at me these past few days, isn't it because you want to use me to climb the social ladder? Because your attempts at doing so with me failed, you jumped on to the next man you can find. But I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Sabrina, but Fernandez is a wrong take. He will only use you and dump you.'' Vincent's words were quite vicious that it made Georgia even speechless.
''Shut up! Are you done?'' Sabrina felt offended by his choice of words.
''You told me to shut up?'' Vincent smirked.
Sabrina chuckled sarcastically. ''I think there is a misunderstanding here, Mr. Maraj. I have enough money on me, I don't need to rely on a man to survive.''
''Money can't buy social status, which is what you are looking for. No?'' Vincent's words cut through Sabrina like a knife. She bit her lips trying to calm herself down.
''CEO, that's not…'' Georgia wanted to speak in favor of Sabrina but Vincent gave her a cold glare and she pursed her lips.
''You are really insufferable. You are right! I am chasing you. I came here because I wanted to meet you, but you are wrong about something. I never wanted to use you to change my social status. I do not find you attractive one bit.'' Sabrina laughed.
''What?'' It was now Vincent's turn to be speechless. In fact, he felt insulted when Sabrina said she didn't find him attractive.
''I am not interested in you romantically because you're not my type. I am chasing you alright, but it is for a different reason. Come to think of it, seeing how arrogant you are, I just came to a conclusion. I would rather die than chase a man like you romantically. There is absolutely no substance in you at all.'' Sabrina continued. He wasn't the only one whose words could be vicious.
''Are you drunk?'' Vincent asked.
''No! How many times do I have to tell you I don't drink?'' Sabrina felt her chest tightening and she couldn't hold back anymore. ''These words are from my heart. Now that I know the kind of person you are, I am no longer interested in chasing you anymore. Tomorrow, I will send the dress to you and we will become strangers.'' Sabrina pushed Vincent aside and walked out.
''Stop there!'' Vincent turned and saw Sabrina running out of the hotel towards the car park.
'CEO, you went too far with your words. After all, it was Fernandez who walked over to Sabrina first and she even left him to chase after you outside here. I don't think they have a strong relationship.'' Georgia spoke.
''Go and get the car.'' Vincent said before walking out.
…..
Luna Estates- Beverly hills.
Tia was outside waiting on her. When she saw the car approaching, she walked out of the garden pathway to meet her.
Sabrina got out of the car and took the keys from the substitute driver and paid him before he left.
''Darling, what happened to you? You're drunk?'' Tia held Sabrina as she stuttered.
''I just took a little sip.'' Sabrina chuckled.
''You have low alcohol tolerance. Why did you even drink? Let's go inside. I will make you honey water to sober up.'' Tia helped Sabrina into the house and closed the door. She sent Sabrina to the couch and went to get her some honey water.
''Jerk! That man is an asshole. I will never go to him. I'd rather die than chase him ever again.'' Sabrina slumped on the couch as she mumbled drunkenly.
''Here, drink this…'' Tia brought the honey water and made Sabrina drink it up.
''Aye, you look a mess. Did you get drunk because of what happened?'' Tia looked at Sabrina again and finally noticed the yellow gown on her. ''Hold on! This isn't the dress you wore out. What exactly happened to you?''
Sabrina sighed. ''That man is a jerk. Why did he help me out only to be hostile towards me?'' Sabrina pouted her lips and stood up. ''I'm going to bed. Let's talk tomorrow.''
''Darling… darling…'' Tia followed Sabrina to the door and Sabrina shut the door on her.
