Shuffle Playlist: Cornelia Street by Taylor Swift.
Milan, The Sun Hotel.
Sabrina looked at herself in the mirror and was quite satisfied with her appearance. Since she was going to tour Milan with Adelaide and the weather there was a little warm, she decided to go for a matching blue crop top and skirt with a black hut with white Jordan sneakers. She picked her black purse and phone before walking out.
Sabrina checked her wrist and smiled as she walked towards the lobby. ''Spending the whole day with Vincent really added another few months to my time. This is great.''
As she walked towards the lobby, a man came out of one of the rooms and recognized her. ''Sabrina? What is she doing here?''
The man decided to take a picture of Sabrina's back view and send it to someone else.
''Sabrina, you are here…'' Adelaide was excited to spend the day with Sabrina. She had woken up early to dress and get ready. She wore a green blouse and paired it with a pair of blue jeans and a black hut.
''Hi, Adelaide. Did you sleep well?'' Sabrina asked.
''Yes, I slept well. Shall we go?''
''Yes, of course.'' Sabrina replied. Adelaide held Sabrina's hand and they went out.
''The men have left for their business; it's left with us. We can't be waiting on them. Today, I will be your tour guard. I will take you to all the fun places in Milan.''
''Then, I will gladly let you lead me.'' Sabrina got into the car with Adelaide and the latter drove out of the hotel.
''I'm telling you the truth. Sabrina is really in Milan. Are you coming or not? I will follow them to know where they are going. I will send you the location later.'' The man who recognized Sabrina and took her picture was speaking on phone to the one he sent the picture to.
''I didn't know Pat was married. I didn't see you at his birthday party.'' Sabrina asked curiously.
''We are married but don't make public appearances together that much. Pat hasn't spoken about our marriage publicly because he wants to protect me. The nature of my work is dangerous. So, we are just been careful.'' Adelaide explained.
''What work do you do? I'm sorry if I'm crossing the line.''
''We are considered friends, and since you and Vincent's girlfriend, I know I can trust you. Vincent doesn't keep people he doesn't trust around.''
''Vincent and I are not in a relationship. We are just friends.''
''If you say so.'' Adelaide didn't seem convinced.
Sabrina sighed. She felt that Adelaide had made up her mind already, so it was useless explaining things.
''I work with the NSA in New York. I go undercover a lot. Pat and I prefer spending our time alone with each other.''
''I didn't picture you to be such a resourceful woman. I thought you also worked in the industry but I now understand.''
''You haven't had breakfast yet, right? Our first stop is at a restaurant.'' Adelaide said excitedly.
Sabrina looked at her phone and pouted her lips. She had sent a message to Vincent early in the morning but he was yet to read or reply to her message.
True to her words, Adelaide made sure she sent Sabrina to the popular places in Milan. Right after breakfast, the visited the Duomo Cathedral of Milano. Adelaide was a catholic so she didn't miss out on taking Sabrina to the famous cathedral.
They took a walk around the cathedral and even book tickets to go inside. Once they were inside, Sabrina took a lot of pictures. She loved the smooth marble half a millennium of history, light filtering windows to the aisles and the priceless artworks within.
They also visited the famous Fashion District known as the Quadrilatero della Moda. This was the heart of exclusive, high-end shopping in Milano. The area was famous for housing famous Italian brands such as Corso Venezia and Manzoli.
Sabrina shopped to her heart's content. She bought clothes for herself, Tia, Bia and Lucia. She didn't want to go back home empty and decided to spend a fortune in the brand shops.
Adelaide also took Sabrina an art gallery. The Pinacoteca di Brera was one of the world's premier art galleries and had magnificent works by Mantegnam Raphael, Bellini, Piero della Francesca, Caravaggio and Hayez just to mention a few.
Sabrina had a lot of fun at all of these places. She did videos and recorded every single place she had been to. Now, it was almost evening and they hadn't eaten yet. They were furbished and wanted to get something and eat before returning back to the hotel.
Adelaide drove them to the famous street food joints in Milan and pulled over. When they got out of the car, the different aromas coming from the variety of street foods entered their nostrils. Sabrina exhaled and smiled.
''Adelaide, I don't even know what to eat first. Can you recommend anything?'' Sabrina asked.
''No problem, come, let's go to my favorite Pescaria- seafood sandwich. You eat seafood, right?'' Adelaide asked.
''Yes, I do.''
''Let's go.'' Adelaide locked hands with Sabrina as they walked the popular street. They arrived at a food stand and joined the queue.
''Let me tell you, this seafood sandwich is in two folds. One side has a filing of only raw seafood, and the other side is cooked. The raw seafood usually added is the fish. The fish is always fresh. All their ingredients and free. It is a mixture of quality fresh fish and the best of haute cuisine. The taste is just impeccable.''
Adelaide couldn't stop praising the street food. She kept looking into the plates of others and explaining to Sabrina what food they were eating.
When it was their turn, Sabrina allowed her to make the order. They took their food and went to sit at an empty table in the open to eat.
''One thing about Milan is that, they don't really care about one's social status. Once you are here, you don't have to care about been a celebrity. A lot of the locals here are too focused on their own lives to care.''
''I can see that. I feel like a normal person here. I don't have to be careful. I don't have to cover my face. In fact, here, I look like a normal girl from the next street.''
''That's true, but that doesn't stop others from admiring you. Do you see the table at our three-o clock? That man hasn't taken his eyes of you since we arrived. A lot of the Spanish men here like light skin black Americans.''
Sabrina chuckled and turned. When she met the man's gaze, he waved at her flirtatiously and Sabrina smiled and looked away.
''Aye, I better tell Vincent to come over. I'm afraid that his girlfriend might get snatched from him. Do you know why I married Pat?''
''Why?'' Sabrina sipped the mixed local juice that was served to them as she asked.
''He is a monster in the bedroom. A lot of Spanish guys really know to do it.''
Sabrina choked and coughed. She picked the bottle of water and sipped. Even though her face was red, it didn't stop Adelaide from furthering her conversation.
''But I know Vincent will be very capable. Have you seen him down there?'' Adelaide asked.
Sabrina coughed. ''Adelaide, we are really not in a relationship.''
''Why? Sabrina, aren't you curious about him?'' Adelaide bit into her sandwich and asked.
''Hi, I'm Stevie.'' The Spanish guy walked over and spoke to Sabrina.
''Hi, Stevie. How may we help you?'' Adelaide asked.
''Your friend is a pretty woman. I like her and I'm here to talk to her.'' Stevie replied.
''I see. Well, you can talk to her. I'm going to make a call.'' Adelaide stood up with her phone.
''May I know your name, Queen?'' Stevie asked.
''My name is Sabrina.'' Sabrina replied.
''Nice name. Do you mind if my friend and I sit with you?''
''Yeah, sure.''
''Danny, come over…'' Stevie called his friend and he joined them.
Adelaide returned and saw the two men seated at their table and she smirked. She sat down and gave Sabrina a sly gaze.
''So, Stevie, are you from Milan?'' Adelaide asked.
''Yes. What about you two?''
''I'm from Milan but my friend is from California. Actually, she is a voice actress. Her works are really good.''
''That explains it. You have a very captivating voice, Sabrina.''
''Thank you.'' Sabrina smiled and looked at her phone when it vibrated. She read the message from Vincent and smiled.
''I'm outside with Adelaide. We're having lunch.'' Sabrina replied the text back.
''Okay!'
''Okay?'' Sabrina mumbled.
''So, I just googled you and saw some of your works. I will be checking them out tonight.'' Stevie was enthusiastic about Sabrina.
Under the table, Adelaide was busy texting Vincent with a smirk. She wanted to see his reaction when they arrive and find them seated with two handsome men. When she stood up earlier on, she had gone to make a call to her husband, telling him where they were and the guys that approached them.
