Matching Tattoos

- VANESSA -

I was feeling pretty buzzed before when Dominik was quizzing me on whether or not I could make certain drinks and then we were taste-testing them. But the pizza sobered me up. So did watching Dominik get his tattoo, and now that I'm in the chair and Edwin, the artist, is transferring the drawing onto my skin, I'm wondering if I should have drank more.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Dominik has a crooked smile when he asks. He doesn't seem bothered at all by the new ink on his forearm even though the skin is red and inflamed.

"Yes. I want one to match yours."

The black and grey design now permanently marking Dominik's skin is of wildflowers that grow beneath the Redwoods. He said they remind him of childhood.

"Are you sure? It can be whatever you want."
