Bedroom Dinner

The soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated Kimberly's peaceful face as she slept soundly. Melvin approached her quietly, not wanting to disturb her rest. He gently shook her shoulder, whispering her name to rouse her from her slumber.

"Kimberly, wake up. Dinner's getting cold," he said softly, thinking that it was best she woke up to eat now than for her to wake up hungry to have a late-night meal.

Kimberly stirred, blinking her eyes open slowly before focusing on Melvin's face. She yawned and stretched, rubbing her eyes as she sat up.

"Sorry, I must have dozed off," she mumbled, still half-asleep.

"It's alright. You needed the rest," Melvin reassured her.

"Come on, let's eat before it gets cold."

Together, they sat down at the table in the bedroom, and Kimberly ate heartily, savoring each bite as if she hadn't eaten in days.
