A Pro’s Pure Power

Harrison, Angela, and Jake were all fighting hordes of transmuted humans. Harrison blasting them with fire, not even bothering with the fact that they're technically still human. Angela freezing all of them solid, preferring to restrain them instead of the "burning everything with fire" approach. Jake on the other hand wasn't really attacking but instead shaking like a leaf as he watched the two of them fight for their lives.

"D-Damn it, why can't I not move, all I ever wanted to do was run but, I can't move a muscle…" He thought to himself.

As he was thinking, a transmuted human came behind Jake and tried to crush him with his massive bicep.

But before it could connect, a solid ice wall came between the two, blocking the arm.

Angela then slid behind Jake and punched the creature with a icy fist.

Harrison walked over to Jake and grabbed him by his collar.

"What the hell are you doing!? We can't have to freezing up!" Harrison said.

Jake snapped back to reality and clenched his fist.

"I-I don't know what's wrong with me, I haven't been in this type situation!" Jake exclaimed.

"Aren't you guys scared too!?" Jake asked.

Harrison let go of his collar, and coated his fist in fire.

"Are you crazy? Of course of scared!" Harrison yelled.

"But as heroes, villains feast on that negative mindset of yours, holding yourself back from defeating them and saving the innocent, so tuck your fear away!" Harrison said as he blasted a dozen of the monsters with fire.

"And do the job you signed up for!" He said looking back.

Jake looked at Harrison in awe, he was glad someone felt the same way as him and sharing his fear and still having the courage and determination to fight on.

Jake smacked his face with both his hands as him, Angela and Harrison stand back to back with each other.

"Let's win this guys-" Before Jake could even finish a boom from a nearby building was heard throughout the area as debris was scattered over the ground.

Jake, Angela and Harrison all turned to the building in confusion.

Before they could even process it, all the monsters they were fighting were all gone, all dispatched of and destroyed.

Roughouser stands by them and smiles.

"Looks like you kids were struggling!" Roughouser said.

"Teach!" Jake said hugging him.

Angela and Harrison were visably relieved as they seen their teacher beside them.

"Yeah Yeah, thanks for the warm welcome Jake, but works not done!" Roughouser said gently getting him off.

Harrison pointed at the destroyed building.

"So Roughouser the guy you punched…" Harrison said.

"Yep, that's the boss" Roughouser said looking at it.

Roughouser walked up the the building for a follow up.

"Wait Roughouser! Are you confident you can actually win!?" Jake asked.

Roughouser looked back and smiled.

"Of course, my job is to protect you kids from that guy, I'll win for sure!" Roughouser exclaimed.

Out of the rubble, The Transmutor stood visably injured.

"This is quite the big fish, maybe I'm in over my head fighting you!" He said smiling.

"Who am I kidding, I already came this FAR!" The Transmutor said jumping at Roughouser from the building.

Roughouser pushed the three out the way and blocked the momentum boosted punch from The Transmutor and using his offhand uppercuts The Transmutor in his jaw sending him into the air.

Roughouser, not being able to fly, ran up the destroyed building and once at the top, used his strength to jump to meet The Transmutor.

Roughouser threw a powerful punch that The Transmutor blocked, but the force was so powerful it sent him flying to the road.

The Transmutor landed and immediately sent a flurry of fist using the concrete as material.

Roughouser kicked one of the fist, immediately turning it into pebbles and using another fist The Transmutor made, ran straight down to him as a platform.

"Naive…" The Transmutor said as he created three sentient creatures using the concrete and sent them all to fight.

Roughouser seen the creatures guarding him and frowned.

Roughouser immediately blitzed all three of them, destroying them all with a single punch and immediately grabbed The Transmutor and threw him into a building.

The Transmutor seen that Roughouser was gonna follow up and immediately jumped out of the way as Roughouser destroyed the buildings second floor.

The Transmutor immediately stretched his arm and wrapped it around Roughouser and slammed him through the wall.

Roughouser coughed out some spit but he quickly recovered and pulled The Transmutors arm and punched him out the building.

The Transmutor rolled on the ground and looked at him as the building collapsed.

The Transmutor got up and looked at the standing Roughouser.

"The battle is only just beginning hero…" The Transmutor said smiling.

Roughouser smiled and got into his boxing stance.

"Just box…" He said awaiting a move.

Roughouser immediately turned the ground into spikes, trying to stab Roughouser to slow him down.

Roughouser sidestepped all the spikes and immediately ran full speed at The Transmutor.

The Transmutor predicted this and immediately created a thick wall of concrete that barely blocked the punch from Roughouser.

Roughouser was taken aback and before he could dodge a fist came from the wall and nailed him in the gut sending him back.

Roughouser did some acrobatics to quickly move out the way awaiting another attack but one of the rock creatures greeted him from behind.

"A unaccounted one!?" Roughouser thought as he roundhouse kicked it in half.

The two half's quickly morphed into restraints that tied up his arms and legs.

Roughouser had no time to react to this and he had no window of time to destroy the restraints either, as The Transmutor stretched his arm and grabbed him.

The Transmutor whipped his arm around like a lasso, spinning Roughouser at incredible speeds and with insane power.

The Transmutor using this momentum, put his stretched arm high into the air, and with all the momentum, slammed Roughouser with incredible power.

The dust was heavy and none of the three spectators could even see what was happening.

"N-No way…" Harrison looked in shock.

Harrison turned to Jake.

"Jake, we need your super speed! We have to find a way out of this, this is getting dangerous!"

Jake nodded and immediately put the petal to the metal, quickly running towards the entrance at incredible speeds.

Before he could make it to the entrance, the injured mask person that Roughouser punched moments ago came out of a portal in front of Jake.

"We can't have that can we?" The Feminine voice said from the mask, immediately teleporting Jake back as if he was in a loop.

Harrison seen Jake come from a portal and land on the ground.

"This is a issue, screw it! Angela, go with him!" Harrison demanded.

Angela nodded as her and Jake ran towards the entrance once again.

Harrison looked back at the fight as the dust settled.

Roughouser layed on the floor, blood coming from his forehead.

His face was emotionless as he jumped back to his feet and took a deep breath.

Roughousers blood flow increased as he increased his strength and martial arts capabilities.

Roughouser seen this and immediately hardened his body, but Roughouser was too fast, punching The Transmutor through a building and his body getting flung into a tree.

The Transmutor punched the tree down and immediately picked it up and slammed it into Roughousers side. Roughouser blocked it however and dashed towards The Transmutor and kicked the side of his leg and ribs.

The Hardened skin made the hits less impactful, but it still did damage.

The Transmutor punched Roughouser in his face with a straight right and kicked him in the chest as a follow up. However, Roughouser grabbed his leg and pulled him close, nailing The Transmutor with a hook.

Roughouser grabbed The Transmutor and threw him back into the destroyed city.

The Transmutor was slowly losing steam but the same could be said about Roughouser.

"The Difference between you and me is that I have options, you don't, face it, I'm your perfect counter!" The Transmutor said to Roughouser as he got up from the floor.

"You talk to much for a bastard who's only been able to land hits from unpredictability rather than actual combat skill" Roughouser said.

The Transmutor scoffed and immediately created a thick dome of concrete around Roughouser and preparing a huge attack.

The Transmutor created a huge hand, building it higher and higher and before he could bring it down, Roughouser destroyed the dome effortlessly.

And using one hundred percent of his power destroyed the giant hand with a barrage of punches.

The Transmutor for the first time was genuinely shocked.

Roughouser immediately appeared infront of him and uppercuts him in the air and jumped to meet him.

The Transmutor could only watch as Roughouser charged his penultimate punch.

"You made one grave mistake in your pathetic life villain!" Roughouser said as he clenched his fist with all his might.

"MESSING WITH MY STUDENTS!" Roughouser yelled punching The Transmutor downward and making his body crash into the ground with insane speeds and unstoppable force.

The shockwave it cause made Harrison almost fall over as he sheilded his face from the debris.

"Did he keep his promise!? Roughouser! Did you win!" Harrison yelled.

The dust took a little while to clear as Roughouser walked towards Harrison.

Harrison looked in disbelief.

"So this is the power of #2…" Harrison said.

"Chin up kid, no reason to be in shock, by the time youre my age you'll be stronger than me tenfold!" Roughouser exclaimed.

Before Roughouser could celebrate, he was hit with a sharp pain.

Roughouser fell on one knee as he felt the pain throughout his body.

"Roughouser are you-"

"Don't worry I'm fine, just over exerted myself, going all out like I did without taking a rest will do that!" He said getting up.

"I still have enough energy to clean up the rest of these creatures, just leave it to me…" Roughouser said.

Harrison was skeptical but sighed.

"Sure if you're so confident, let's try our best to help the others-" Before Harrison could finish, Roughouser had a horrible feeling of danger and immediately pushed Harrison out the way as Roughouser was stabbed by a obsidian sword.

"His presence where…" Roughouser said as he was straining.

The person who stabbed him became visable once it was complete, a completely hooded person that once again had a mask, although this time it was that of a Chinese ogre.

"Ive done my task…" The Voice said.

Harrison became enraged as his flame turned blue, and, using this, he immediately blasted the person with the flames, obliterating them from the waist up.

Roughouser while the sword was still in his abdomen, though back on how he got here, it felt as if his life was flashing before his eyes.

Roughouser arrived at Neo New Yorks entrance, as a young adult he didn't have much, coming from his small town in Iowa, however, everyone around him in childhood knew he was destined for greatness, feeling as though being in the sticks was holding him back from truely becoming the best.

Once he got settled into his small apartment, he immediately went to register to be a hero.

But one of his colleagues at the registry was gonna completely outshine him. Omega Man, the future number 1 hero, outclassed him in all ways at the registery. However, despite them always competing for number 1, they shared a bond with each other that couldn't be explained by either of them. Roughouser trying to climb his way to the top and Omega Man trying to stay ahead to keep his place made their work relationship surprisingly healthy.

After more than two decades of competition, the two butted heads over one thing however.

In the hospital, Omega Man was in the lounge area, checking up on Waterworks and Hydra-Man after their fight with the green man in the city.

Roughouser arrived after hearing the news and after checking up on them and delivering flowers, Omega Man and Roughouser sat in the lounge silently.

"So Roughouser, how's that school stuff looking?" Omega Man said breaking the ice.

Roughouser looked at him.

"Yeah, Williams is very… energetic." Roughouser said reluctantly.

Omega Man look at him in curiosity.

"So what made you want to work at a school?" Omega Man said.

Roughouser was surprised by the sudden curiosity and looked at the window.

"Omega-Man, do you ever think we're reaching the end of our rope? Blink once and we're gonna be fifty, this world can't rely on us when we're only getting older and weaker."

"Wait what are you…"

"Training the next generation is gonna be my main priority as of now Omega Man." Roughouser finished.

"But where is this coming from? You can't just stop putting your priorities at something else, the world needs the number two does it!?" Omega Man asked.

It was quiet for a little bit, Roughouser, taking off his mask gives Omega Man a cold stare.

"Omega Man, when I was on patrol today you know how long it took before I was completely exhausted?" Roughouser asked.

Omega Man didn't answer as he awaited his reply.

"Thirty Minutes, I can only use my full power for thirty short minutes… I didn't come to this conclusion because I was selfish or didn't want to do my job, but because I had grown so damn weak…" Roughouser said as he turned around leaving.

"Not everyone is like you Omega Man… so do your best with the time you have" Roughouser said leaving.

Omega Man was speechless, he didn't know what to say, all he could do, was watch him leave.

Roughouser stood in the destroyed city area motionless as the sword was still in his abdomen.

Roughouser thought about what he said and realized that he had only been proven right, but he couldn't lose hope, he had one last option.

Roughouser turned at Harrison and smiled.

"You kids, show him no mercy got it?" Roughouser said.

Roughouser used the rest of his strength to push Harrison away.

Harrison was shocked as The Transmutor came from the debris and smiled.

"E-3 you really were of use! Amazing work my creation!" The Transmutor said.

The Transmutor removed the sword and immediately stabbed Roughouser in his legs and chest, then The Transmutor manipulated his arms size and choked slammed Roughousers unconscious body.

Roughouser was bleeding heavily from out of his wounds as The Transmutor stood over him.

Harrison watched in disbelief as his teacher got dispatched.

"Damn it, I can't fight this alone… I need… Backup…" Harrison said.

Before Harrison look however, Angela tapped his shoulder.

Harrison was in disbelief.

"How the hell did you get here…" Harrison said.

While Roughouser and The Transmutor were fighting, Jake and Angela were trying to dispatch of the Portal person who was giving them huge issues.

Everytime they even tried to step towards the entrance they just got sent back.

Jake had enough of this loop and immediately ran full speed, standing face to face with her.

"She's gonna create a portal!" Jake thought.

Before Jake could even react, the door opened.

"Hey Roughouser are you there-" Before the women could finish however, the Portal Person panicked and teleported her away instead.

Jake with this split second timeframe, kicked The Portal person out the way and blitzed out the entrance.

"Finally! Don't worry everyone! Helps on the way!" Jake said booking it towards the main building.

Harrison stood up understanding.

"So Jake actually got away, perfect… All we have to do now is buy time!" Harrison said conjuring fire from his hand.

Coming from the Fire Area, Owen and D-Jay arrived in the city area, running at full speeds towards their classmates.

Harrison and Angela looked back and smiled.

"Good you two are in fighting shape as well…" Harrison said.

Owen pointed back and frowned.

"There was a shitload of those monster things, fighting them for so long was making me hungry, but fortunately D-Jay was mowing them down!" Owen said smiling.

Owen then pointed at The Transmutor.

"So that's the main guy?" He asked.

"Yeah…" Harrison said looking at Roughouser.

"But be cautious, we need to fight strategically!" Harrison said.

Owen and D-Jay stood beside them.

D-Jay was grinning ear to ear and Owen did a stretch with his arms.

"Let's crack some skulls!" Owen said as all four of them readied their powers.

Rex was running towards the city area they were fighting in.

"I heard huge booms and crashes over here! Couldn't be anyone but The Transmutor! I have to get their and quickly before anyone gets really hurt!" Rex said while running.

While Rex was running he heard a slight scream from above, at first he didn't think anything of it but it just got louder and louder.

He immediately looked up and seen a women land directly on his back.

"OWWWWWW!" Rex yelled.

"Oh thank the heavens one of you students broke my fall…" She said sitting on Rex in her puffy green dress.

Rex looked at her in anger.

"Get the hell off me! Who even are you!?" Rex yelled.

"How rude! That's not how you speak to a teacher!" She yelled back.

She got off of Rex, Rex immediately stood up and dusted off his hero suit.

"A teacher?" Rex said a little intrigued.

"Yes! My hero name is Synthesize! My power to bring out the potential in others mimics that of the light that brings the potential of flowers and nature!" Synthesize said, her brown her flowing through the air.

"Wow that's… Interesting…" Rex said giving a judging look.

Synthesize immediately got serious.

"It seems like you kids are in danger, especially you, you look completely worn out!" Synthesize said.

Rex crossed his arms.

"Why should that matter, the lives of my friends come before mine…" Rex said being stubborn.

Synthesize grabbed his shoulder.

"Because I can help you! Didn't you hear me? I can bring out the potential of others, which means you'll be so much stronger for a limited time however!" Synthesize said.

Rex nodded in understanding.

"How long is the procedure gonna take?" Rex asked.

"About five minutes, but it's worth it!" Synthesize said.

Rex thought about it, help his friends now, or get stronger to help his friends more effectively later.

Rex came to his conclusion.

"Alright lets do it!" Rex said.

Rex and Synthesize started the procedure, coating his body in a yellow light that helped him evolved to the limits he's at now.

Between Sabrina, Yui and Orion's situation in the forest, Jakes pleas for help, The Four on One in the city area and Rex's boost, the heroes of Superhuman Tech were in for a eventful time, as the battle for the lives were showing signs of ending.
