A Burning Ambition

The four students and the slowly growing man look at each other with hesitation as their heart rate raises and blood flow increases from increased paranoia.

Harrison analyses The Transmutor as he slowly gathers his flames.

Transmutor takes only one step before the entire squad of students make their move.

Owen grows his arm and launches the giant fist at The Transmutor. Similarly, The Transmutor grew his arm and collided with the giant arm.

Harrison was in shock.

"Owen has the highest destructive ability in the class? How could he counter it!?" Harrison thought.

The Transmutor was tired but he was easily able to overpower Owen and swipe him away.

Owen retracted his arm and grew it again, using his momentum to flip and grow his arm and slam it down.

The Transmutor dodged it by jumping in the air looking down at the giant crater Owen caused below.

"That kid is dangerous, If I get hit directly I could lose-" Before The Transmutor could finish his his sentence, D-Jay came from the ground and slammed him in his head with a sledgehammer.

The Transmutor was laying in the very crater he was analyzing blood trickling down from his mouth.

D-Jay's tempo increased and he shot a wave of sound at The Transmutor.

The Transmutor blocked it from above and was trying to prepare his next attack but from the corner of his eyes, he seen a pillar of ice barreling towards him.

Using his foot, The Transmutor created a pillar of his own to block the ice.

Harrison comes from behind, charging his fire in his hand.

"Just as I wanted, a full assult from all directions!" Harrison thought.

Harrison fired a stream of fire to The Transmutor, who quickly blocked it by coating himself in a dome.

D-Jay landed on the ground and looked at the dome smiling.

"Hold your positions!" Harrison yelled as they carefully watched the dome.

It was quiet for only but a second, after that, The Transmutor completely covered the battlefield in large spikes, causing the band of heroes to jump in the air.

Harrison shocked that he has this much power still left, but he quickly gives a turn to Owen.

Owen nods back and creates a giant fist and smashes the ground, destroying all the spikes. Owen's hand didn't go unscathed, and he had a bad puncture wound in the middle of his palm.

"Fuck!" Owen says as he gets on his knees.

"Owen's right hand is completely unusable with that wound, shit…" Harrison thought to himself.

The Transmutor stepped out of his pod and smirked.

"How amusing… Looks like one of your members is kneeling to me already!" He exclaimed looking at Owen.

Owen looked up and gave a death stare.

"DAMN YOU!" He said creating a huge fist once again, directly aimed at The Transmutor.

"Owen wait!" Harrison said.

The Transmutor looked at it and smiled harder.

"More sluggish than the last time, he really is sloppy…" The Transmutor weaves the punch with a sidestep and immediately blitzed Owen and punches him so hard that he flies into the third story of a nearby building.

Owen was bleeding out of his nose and mouth, and was knocked unconscious.

The Transmutor was right in front of Harrison and he immediately turned to him.

"One of your backup down!" The Transmutor said.

Harrison wasted no timed and immediately blasted him in the face with a stream of fire.

Harrison, Angela and D-Jay then immediately jumped back.

The Transmutor immediately created three pillars and aimed it at them at high speeds.

Harrison blasted a burst of fire, propelling himself in the air.

Angela used her ice to block the impact, although she still gets sent flying.

And D-Jay punched the pillar, breaking it into pieces.

The Transmutor scoffed.

"He's physically stronger than the water brat but he doesn't hold a candle to that pro…" The Transmutor thought.

The Transmutor jumped, cracking the ground as he does, and immediately decks D-Jay in his chest.

D-Jay feels a immense pain from his chest as he gets sent straight down in the concrete.

The Transmutor is taken aback from the fact that he isn't completely down for the count and lands on his feet smiling.

The Transmutor immediately dashed to D-Jay in the same fashion as Owen but unlike Owen, D-Jay immediately blocked the punch and skidded back from the impact.

Angela then stepped in and created a pillar of ice separating the two.

"Annoying…" The Transmutor said.

D-Jay immediately came from behind, catching The Transmutor off guard.

D-Jay immediately clenches his fist and punches The Transmutor in his rib.

The Transmutor coughs up some blood but recovers and punches D-Jay back with a haymaker.

D-Jay spits out a broken tooth and smiles, The Transmutor also smiles and in unison, they throw a barrage of high speed punches, the exchange ends with The Transmutor and D-Jay clashing.

Harrison came from behind and gathers fire from his palm.

The Transmutor grabs D-Jay's Arm and throws him straight into Harrison.

Harrison gets sent back but D-Jay managed to get out of his hold and kicks The Transmutor in the face.

The Transmutor then buffed his body and lunged at D-Jay.

D-Jay's Tempo was at the max and he immediately used his power to lunge back.

The two of them punched each other in the face.

D-Jay was bleeding out of his nose but The Transmutor hardened his face, not feeling it.

D-Jay grabbed The Transmutors face and threw him into a destroyed building.

The Transmutor skid on his hands and knees but got up but before he could properly react, D-Jay slammed him down onto the ground floor of the building.

D-Jay jumped down and got ready for another punch, but The Transmutor blocked it.

The Transmutor then punched D-Jay in the gut, then slammed him on the ground.

D-Jay recovered and immediately tripped The Transmutor and kicked him out the building and into the air.

Angela seen The Transmutor and immediately slammed him into the ground with a pillar of ice.

The Transmutor broke out of the ice but he tried to find where D-Jay was.

The Transmutor turned back.

"Found you!" The Transmutor thought, but D-Jay came from where his orginal position was.

D-Jay aimed a punch straight a punch straight to The Transmutors neck.

But there was only one issue…

D-Jay was completely unable to move, with blood coming from his mouth and nose.

"D-JAY!" Harrison yelled.

Harrison then thought back, why the hell did this happen.

[A Few Days Earlier]

It was a normal school day, Harrison was sitting in the front as usual but he was disinterested.

Rex loudly yawned at Roughouser.

"Damn teach, has your class always been this boring! Can we learn something interesting!" He said.

Roughouser blitzed Rex and knocked him over the head.

"You know maybe if you payed attention for once you would actually find something interesting!" Roughouser said.

Rex holds his head in pain and looks up.

"Yeah whatever!" He said.

"Alright listen up class, today we're learning about Power Anatomy!" Roughouser said.

The class was focused and attentive.

"Your powers should manifest by the time you start gaining sentience so about four or five, how you use it is all up to your natrual talent!" Roughouser continued.

But more importantly, your power is a extension of your body, it's like weightlifting with one arm, eventually that arm is gonna wear out with excessive use!" Roughouser said.

"So what I'm saying is…

Don't rely on just your ability!"

[Present Day]

"I see, so his body couldn't handle it…" Harrison said losing hope.

Angela grabs his sleeve and stared at him.

"Her Eyes…" Harrison whispered.

"They were counting on me, all three of them, and I'm blank…"

"No"

"No"

"I can't die here, I have too much to do!" Harrison said.

Harrison patted Angela's head and smiled at The Transmutor.

"Angela, there is no plan anymore…" Harrison said as flames burst from his feet.

"Just do you best!" Harrison yelled.

Harrison blasted a stream of fire at The Transmutor but he blocked it with a pillar of earth.

The Transmutor sends four pillars straight at Harrison. But Harrison quickly used four fireballs that quickly exploded to destroy them.

"Boring" The Transmutor thought.

While The Transmutor was busy with Harrison, Angela came from behind, ice gathering in her hand, she then grabs The Transmutors arm in a tight hold.

Initially The Transmutor feels no pain and immediately punches Angela in the gut with his free arm, sending her flying back in pain.

The Transmutor then notices his arm is getting colder and colder, to a point where it's frozen solid.

Harrison comes from the side of his frozen arm, fire gathering in his hand, then with all his might, Harrison punches his arm, causing it to break off completely.

The Transmutor wretched in pain.

"That Damn-" Before he could finish his thought, The Transmutor was punched in the face by Harrison, fire coating his hands.

Harrison took this opportunity, hitting The Transmutor with a combo of hits with his fire fist.

Harrison uppercuts him in his jaw.

"I can do it…" He Thinks

He punches him in his stomach.

"I can WIN!" Harrison exclaims in his mind.

Angela then all of sudden pushes him, getting him away from The Transmutor.

Before Harrison could wonder what was going on, he seen what had happened. Angela had been stabbed in her stomach.

Angela landed on Harrison chest, blood streaming from her mouth.

"Harrison… Do… You best…" She said quietly falling unconscious.

Harrison was stunned, he didn't know how to react with anger or sadness.

"Why does this happen…" Harrison thought

[Past]

My family is a huge founder of this city, the Flameheart family is meant to consist of the best of the best heroes. But we don't actually DO anything!

We don't have peoples best interest at heart, we don't care about the quote "little guy" we only care about our damn selves.

And I was the same damn way.

I lied

I stole

I manipulated

So why…?

WHY did I join this school?

When I first got here, that's what I was trying to find, but my ignorance lead me to do that to Yui, that's when I got beat by him.

"You shouldn't be at this damn school" is what runs through my mind everyday.

And honestly, he's probably right, my family and my past are reasons why I shouldn't be at this school.

But that's different.

I want to help people, I want to save the innocent, I want to change…

To BE a hero, not just act like one.

[Present]

The flames of Harrison grew hotter and uncontrollable.

"Angela, Owen, D-Jay…" Harrison thought.

"My inability to be a proper hero failed you all" He thought looking up.

"I'm gonna defeat you, DAMN VILLAIN!" Harrison yelled at him.

"Yeah I've heard THAT BEFORE!" The Transmutor said as he regrew his broken arm and threw a punch at Harrison.

Harrison collides his arm with The Transmutor.

Harrisons fire burning so hot that it turned blue, scorching The Transmutors skin.

"Finally child! You're not boring anymore!" The Transmutor said decking him in the face, but Harrison tanked it and propelled his blue fire fis straight into The Transmutors chin, sending him straight into the air.

Then Harrison burst his foot into the air to meet him and punches him in the stomach downward.

The Transmutor landed on the ground hard.

But Harrison didn't back down at all.

"This for everyone in my class, I'll make sure to it that I'll end this!" Harrison yelled.

Harrison gathers all the blue flames into his arms, his arms burning with pain as he can't control it.

"Even if I DIE TRYING!" Harrison said.

Harrison then released a powerful blast of blue fire downwards at The Transmutor.

"SHINING SUPERNOVA" He yelled at the top of his lungs as Blue Fire engulfed The Transmutors body, although none of the other members like Angela, Owen and D-Jay got touched by the flames.

Everything seemed quiet for a little as if everything was okay.

Harrison landed on the ground face first.

He barely stumbled up only using legs, cause with one good look, he seen his arms, burned, bloody, and unusable.

The Transmutor also got up with a expressionless face, slowly healing from the blast.

"You know child, with anyone else that would've beat them, but I guess it isn't your best day is it?" The Transmutor sneered.

Harrison could do nothing but smile as his glasses fell from his face.

"Finish it…" Harrison said.

The Transmutor grew his arm ready to crush Harrison.

Before he could do it, The Transmutor gets sent flying dozens of feet through the air and lands in a untouched area of the city area.

Orion breathed heavily.

"I barely made it…" Orion said.

Orion's shirt was completely gone, torn apart.

The left side of his cheek was sliced open and bleeding and he was carrying Yui's unconscious body in his left arm and Sabrina's unconscious body on his back.

He puts both of them down side by side.

"I'm not gonna let either of you any of my classmates die here, especially Yui, Rex would tear me limb from limb if I couldn't protect her…" Orion said looking at the battlefield.

Orion sees the bodies of Owen, Angela, D-Jay and the still standing Harrison.

Orion looks at Harrison with a somber look.

"Next time don't be so reckless…" Orion said.

Harrison continued to smile.

"I'm sorry…" Harrison said.

Orion was shocked, he never expected Harrison of all people to say those words.

He lays Harrison down and walks towards where The Transmutor was slowly getting up.

"I'm about as worn out as you villain, and although I can't stop you at my current stamina…" Orion said gathering mass.

"I'll Give you Hell!" He said angrily, jumping towards The Transmutor with a powerful punch to start the fight.
