Attribute Dungeon (1)

Attribute dungeon, this is classified as a very special type dungeon. This is special among the special type dungeons. When someone kills a monster in this dungeon, instead of EXP, they will get attributes. What attributes they gain is determined by their profession.

The number of attributes they gain depends on the mode of the dungeon and the level of the monster they kill. This is for a solo hunter but for a group, the attributes depend on how many members are there in a group.

For example, if we take a normal dungeon, the monsters inside would start at the same level as the participant. If there are more participants, the highest level member would be considered.

For Chris who is at level 28, the monsters start at level 28, if he had selected Normal mode. It would have been level 29 if he selected Hard mode. For Hell mode, it would have been level 30. Since he chose Nightmare mode, the monsters start at level 31.

The highest monster that would appear would be five levels above the participant or the highest level of the participants if it was a group.

In normal mode, hunting a monster of the same level would give +1 to the main attribute of that professional. For every level increase, an extra +1 would be given. So the highest-level monster would give +6 for every kill.

In hard mode, +2 for the lowest one and an extra +2 for every increase in level. The highest gain would be +12 for the highest kill.

In hell mode, +3 for the lowest monster and +18 for the highest monster.

For Nightmare mode, which Chris chose, the gains would be from +4 to +24.

The Nightmare mode obviously gives more rewards compared to other modes but it is also the most difficult mode.

One may think that they can abuse such dungeons as much as they can but there are restrictions. One can enter such a dungeon, ten times before they rank up. For each rank, they would only get ten chances. Whether you can gain all the benefits or not depends on your ability.

Once these chances are over, the person can enter only after they increase their rank.

Usually, these dungeons were either in control of royals or some powerhouses and were used exclusively. Chris found such a dungeon back then by chance but he was already at B-rank back then. It would mean, he lost a lot of chances to increase his power.

This is the reason why he wanted to improve as soon as he could before he ranked up. This would ensure that he would be at the top combatants on the same level.

The uniqueness of this dungeon was also the reason why one has to waste their time before they can enter the dungeon. Only after the dungeon records the participants and the mode they want to enter does it start to create the monsters.

The monster species would usually be the same as the monsters in the surrounding areas.

This is the reason why Chris looked for this dungeon and marked it before logging out of the game. The dungeon would be in the creation process, while he would be in reality, doing things that needed to be done. This would save time for him.

Luckily, he found the dungeon before he had to log out. If not he would have to waste some time before the dungeon was made available for him to enter.

Chris logged into the game, once he returned from the market. He still has a few hours before it would be lunchtime. The plan was to quickly clear the dungeon and then log out for lunch. He prepared everything beforehand. All he would have to do was to prepare the meals once he logged out of the game.

[You have entered the safe zone of the Attribute Dungeon.]

[The Nightmare Dungeon is created. Do you wish to enter the dungeon?]

"Yes".

[Entering the nightmare mode of attribute dungeon...]

Swoosh!

Once again Chris disappeared from his location but unlike last time he appeared in a frozen land. This is not like what it was outside the dungeon but much worse.

"Man, it was too cold here. If I hadn't prepared well beforehand for a situation like this, I would have been in a precarious position", Chris muttered.

Since he was in the know about the conditions of an attribute dungeon, he made a well-thought-out guess that the environment would be cold-based and he was right. To reduce the cold, he prepared warm clothes.

In the world of awakening, no one would be afraid of a little bit of cold but the dungeon simulates an environment based on the levels of the ones who entered. The higher the level is the more colder the environment would be.

Cold would cause a lot of trouble for people especially when hunting. The monsters would be frost-based ones and would find the environment as their home turf. Moreover, extreme cold situations could cause one to freeze their body parts, slow down their movements or impair vision, which would be fatal in a fight.

"Now let's hunt some monsters and improve my attributes", Chris shouted loudly and moved forward.
