Attribute Dungeon (2)

[You have killed a Frost bear, level 31. You have gained +4 INT.]

Chris hunted down thirty-five monsters in the past hour, all of which were level 31, the lowest monster available in the dungeon but it would give him +4 INT, for every kill, making a total of +140 increase to INT.

The increase would same as killing a level 31 monster if he entered the dungeon in normal mode but the difference appears as he hunts higher-level monsters.

In normal mode, the attribute gains for hunting a level 32 monster would be +5 but in nightmare mode, it would be +8 increase. For every increase in level, +4 would be added. This was the advantage of going through this dungeon in nightmare mode but the difficulty is also high.

Even in his past life, Chris didn't properly complete the attribute dungeon in nightmare mode the first time. It took him sixteen times before he could complete it and gain its ownership. He knew the difficulty of completing this dungeon in nightmare mode more than anyone.

Even the dungeons owned by the royals, normally won't see the completion. They created a way to gain most of the benefits from these dungeons.

For the first time, a person would enter in normal mode and would increase their attributes. They would increase the mode difficulty when they feel that they can get most of the benefits from the next difficulty. They would go until they reach nightmare mode in their rank or until they complete ten entries.

This would repeat whenever they rank up.

Chris found out about this method too but he was sure that he would clear the dungeon this time in his first attempt.

First of all, he had past experience to help him and secondly, with his high attributes, he was sure that he could sweep the dungeon, though it may not be a piece of cake, at least not for the first time.

"Looks like the monsters at Level 31 are over, maybe a few still roam but it looks like I have to face higher level ones now", Chris muttered as he sat down to take a breath.

Even with his high attributes, he is still a living and breathing person with limited stamina and mana. He needs rest, especially because all the monsters here are way above his level. Some are even near the limit of F-rank.

Going out to hunt them when his reserves are not full is plain stupidity. Although he very much believes that with his attributes, he can easily clear this dungeon, things always won't go the way one wants to. he doesn't want to make mistakes and miss out on a good opportunity.

[You have killed Frost Wolf, level 32.]

[You have gained +8 INT.]

It took more than an hour to clear the thirty-five level 32 frost wolves, which gave him +280 INT.

Once it was done he rested for a while and moved on to the next region, possibly where the level 33 monsters reside.

---

[You have killed Frost Bear, Level 33.]

[You have gained +12 INT]

[You have killed Snow Leopard, level 34.]

[You have gained +16 INT]

Chris continued to grind the monsters and took a rest whenever possible. He would fill his stamina and man by using potions, every once in a while. He needed to be at his peak when he met the ultimate monsters of the dungeon.

[You have killed thirty-five level 33 monsters and gained +420 INT]

[You have killed thirty-five level 34 monsters and gained +560 INT]

When Chris saw the notifications that came until now, something clicked in his brain. Maybe because of his high INT or whatever, he saw an important thing that he failed to notice in his past life.

There are thirty-five monsters for every level. For the four levels he fought, it remained at the same number. The reason for that, he didn't know exactly but could find out about it when he visited this dungeon again. He could find the reason one day but today, it would remain as a question.

Until now he gained a lot of INT, but a new question arose in his mind. WIS is important to spellcasters and both INT and WIS took turns while he was levelling up but in this dungeon run, only his INT increased.

Would only a single attribute would increase while hunting in this dungeon?

Would only his INT increase?

No, he knew that the answer to that. In his past life, both INT and WIS increased. He didn't pay much attention to it back then but he clearly remembered that those both attributes increased.

"Was there something that I missed or forgot?" Chris thought.

With his increased INT, he should have remembered everything perfectly but he also knew that humans have limitations. There are years of memories that need to be processed but also have to work on the present. It is too much to ask of a single organ.

"Time, all I need is time and I will get the answers. Now while I wait to replenish my mana and stamina, let's see what I gained so far".

"Wow, a total of +1400 to my INT, making it 1790. I don't need to think much about MP regen or casting time. With this, it would be easier and faster to cast spells. Now all I have to wonder is about how to increase my MP to keep up with my casting".
