Chapter Twenty-Nine

"Diane! Diane! Diane! Wake up!" I slowly opened my eyes to see the worried face of Tyrone. I immediately wrapped my arms around him in a tight embrace. "Shh! It was just a nightmare," he reassured me.

I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I had thought it was real, that those haunting images were a part of my reality. Shaking my head, I tried to dispel those distressing thoughts.

"Do you want, umm... What was it again? Ah, right, a retouch?" Tyrone asked me. Ah, yes, today was his birthday, and he wanted me to be his date for the party. I wasn't initially keen on the idea. I never wanted to return or face his siblings, fearing potential humiliation, but he pleaded with me, using his charming ways to persuade me. That's just how Tyrone was.

I promptly grabbed the foundation to check my face. Thankfully, my makeup wasn't ruined. I just applied a bit of foundation and fixed my slightly disheveled hair.
