Chapter Thirty-Two

"Oh gosh! Why are you leaving so suddenly? Can't you at least finish the semester?" I asked him as we sat in his condo. He called me earlier and asked me to come over. I learned that he's going to the States for two weeks. It was an abrupt decision, but luckily, our professors allowed him to go as long as he completes his projects and additional work to pass this semester.

"You always react as if I won't come back," Rye chuckled in response.

"Even so, I'll miss you," I admitted. It was true; Rye was always by my side at school, and his absence would leave a noticeable void in my routine.

"Don't worry. I'll bring you a souvenir when I come back," Rye said with a smile.

"What's the rush, Rye? Is there something wrong?" I inquired.

"No, my mom just needs an assistant in her boutique there. It's busy right now, especially with her upcoming fashion show," he explained. I sighed; it seemed like I couldn't stop him anymore.
