Bus incident

I woke up and glared at the alarm for waking me up. I like to sleep the whole day away, but I know I couldn't do that. I knew I had to get dressed for school.

My mom knocked on the door and barged through the door, saying, "Dawn, get ready for school, and the food is on the table for you. Don't miss the bus as well."

I looked at her when suddenly she smiles at me. I don't know how she does that. She always smiles no matter what expression I make, whether I'm happy or annoyed. I nodded my head and kissed her cheeks before she left to go through the door and get into the car.

As I watched her disappear in the car, I got dressed up in black ripped jeans and a black t-shirt as well. I went into the kitchen and grabbed the plate she'd cooked for me. I saw that she cooked me some scrambled eggs along with homemade French toast.

After I finished eating the food, I grabbed my backpack and went outside. I walked on the sidewalk where you can see the bus stop down three houses away. It was dark in the early morning, but I always prefer the night. It's peaceful and quiet.

As I waited by the bus stop, I saw three other students—two girls and one boy—who were standing to me. I didn't glance at them any longer and grabbed my phone with my ear plugs, so I could play some music.

The bus came and slow next to the bus stop. I got on the bus with the other three students behind me. I went to sit at the seat at the back. I'd rather listen to my music than be bothered by anyone else.

As I sat down in my seat, I closed my eyes with my head on the window. I was thinking about that siren again in my dream, which made me so perplexed about it. I took my mind off the matter and took a nap.

I was woken up by a hard pull, which made me grab toward the back of the front seat before me. I could hear the tires screeching so loudly and some of the students shouted in shock and panic. Some of them had grabbed the seat they're in since they aren't wearing seatbelts while others tries to grab anything nearest to them. The bus driver called out, "Uh! Blasted birds! Alright, kids, remain in your seat. All of you put your arms around your head and keep your heads lowered." I looked and saw a group of birds flying towards us at a rapid speed. Some of them flying above us, right by the bus, and hitting the bus on impact. I could see the panic and urgency in their actions. Some of the students started crying after the incident was over. I raised my head, pushed back my hair, and looked around me. I saw that bus driver was in shock and speechless but seems to pull himself together after a few minutes. The bus driver told us to remain in our seats and asked if anyone was injured. Everyone started to shake their heads and looked at some of the dead birds that died on impact and there were so much blood on all of the windows.

I looked around me and looked beyond the trees. I knew that a pack of animals could only flee in response to a threat to their survival, such as a predator.

The bus driver looked at some of the panicking students and tried to comfort them. Some of them were in shock while other students were looking at the windows. As the bus driver slowly turned his attention to the back row after comforting the students in the front row, that's when he noticed a serene girl with pink hair at the back seat was looking at the windows. He thought it was strange that she was eerily calm, but didn't think much of it since he had to return to the school and report what occurred immediately.
