The look in Iravan's eyes was inscrutable, the way he searches for something through my eyes like he's trying to gauge something. He tilts his head before letting go of my hair, which causes the strands of the ends of my hair to scatter across my back, the sensation of the falling soft, yet lightweight against my back.
He presses his hand against the sheets of the bed before getting up with stiff knees, he's like a newborn, learning to walk.
Although there are signs he's getting better at it, he walks at his own pace, which allows him to feel comfortable. The way he walks isn't hesitant or uncertain, but there's some sort of gracefulness about the way he walks, whereas the determination in his stance can be seen. He walks around me in a stiff, yet casual manner at a slow pace, where he walks around the bed, each step by step, closer to where Jonathan lies on the bed.
The nurses look at him with strange glances, but Iravan ignores them as if he doesn't see them, he continues to walk toward them, which causes her heart to start racing since she doesn't know what's going on.
One of the nurses came forward and reached out her hands to stop him, which caused Iravan to softly and quietly snarl, where the white, unstained teeth can be seen in the light, people were startled by his strange behavior.
The nurses felt threatened by his ominous atmosphere, and people could see the menacing look in his eyes, the eyes of a hollow, empty mask yet alive at the same time.
Dawn then came forward to place her hands on his nearest shoulder in a way to calm him, but it caused Iravan to stiffen at her hands that were placed on his shoulder, it did calm Iravan down to a degree since he was not snarling anymore.
The nurses were glancing at each other in confusion and bewilderment at this strange set of circumstances that they hadn't anticipated.
Then Crown's voice was heard in the eerie silence, "Hey, help out Jonathan now."
The nurses were pulled back to the task they were doing - helping Jonathan. We turned to look at Jonathan who continued on the bed in the same condition, whereas the mask on his face can be seen.
One of the nurses said, "We'll need to run some tests to figure out what's going on."
Then I said, "He was poisoned."
They looked shocked at this information before one of the nurses spoke again with a grim face, "Are you certain? If this is true, I'll need the name of the poison."
Crown speaks again, "We don't know the name of the poison, but I'll get it now."
He started to flap its wings in an arc, the speed of the wings in a blink of an eye, where he started to soar through the air and pass the door.
All of us, including Iravan watched him leave through the door before one of the nurses spoke, "Wow, that sight will never get old." The nurses laugh before doing basic check-ups, such as the temperature and monitoring.
Iravan's voice of rushing waters speaks in my mind, "I can heal him."
I looked at him startled as I looked around to see if anyone could hear him, but I felt relief when I was only the one who could hear him.
Then I ask, "How?"
The voice of rushing water speaks again, "My song can heal him."
I knew Siren could sing, but how dangerous is it?
For decades, sirens had the reputation of drowning sailors to their deaths by their songs.
Internally I wondered, 'how much truth is there in it?'
It's like the person gets addicted to the song or being controlled by it, it's sound similar to my abilities, where dhampirs can control the minds of men.
Then I felt his stare, I looked at him, his sincere, yet dark eyes were looking for an answer.
Then I shook my head, "Don't heal him, let the nurses do their jobs"
He nodded his head before going back to his seat.
Internally, I'll need to look into Siren's songs. I'll need to understand how dangerous is it. Are siren's songs dangerous to humans or supernatural?
Or both?
