Chapter 49: Heir to Raka and his wolf

Hardy's Pov

I was snapped back to reality.

A reality where she was walking away and I hadn't stopped her to kiss her senseless…where I didn't push her up against that tree there, where my fingers didn't rest on the nape of her neck.

Reality where she is left in her own head to figure out what 'i am better suited with Xiomara' means.

What the hell does that even mean?!

And why would I say that to her to begin with.

Reality where the confusion I feel is intensified because in all of my life, in all of my years I have never felt like I do right now.

So thrown out of form…so conflicted…so doomed I think.

I watched her go.

There was no kiss, no impulsive action…nothing.

I made my way down to the creek, clutching the water bottle…desperately looking for answers.
