A soothing kiss

As they entered the emergency room, Remo's facade of nonchalance began to waver. He winced with each step, the pain from his injured hand becoming increasingly evident. Abby's heart clenched at the sight, her worry for him intensifying with each passing moment.

The nurse led them to a waiting area, where Remo gingerly settled into a chair, his expression strained. Abby hovered by his side, her concern palpable as she watched him grit his teeth against the pain.

"Are you okay, Remo?" Abby's voice was soft, laced with genuine concern.

Remo managed a weak smile, though it failed to mask the discomfort etched on his face. "I'll be fine, Abby. Just a little sore, that's all."

Abby's brow furrowed with worry, her eyes scanning his face for any sign of relief. "You don't have to pretend, Remo. I know it hurts."
