Company

As Abby woke up to the soft light filtering through the curtains, her eyes fell upon Remo sleeping peacefully on the couch. A pang of guilt washed over her as she remembered the harsh words she had directed at him the day before. She shifted uncomfortably, her heart heavy with remorse.

For a moment, she hesitated, unsure whether to wake him or let him sleep. She fidgeted with the edge of her blanket, wrestling with her thoughts. Before she could come to a decision, Remo stirred, his eyelids fluttering open as he slowly roused from his slumber.

Their eyes met, and Abby felt a lump form in her throat. "Remo," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm sorry."

Remo blinked, the sleepiness fading from his eyes as he sat up on the couch. "Hey," he replied gently, his voice tinged with concern. "What's wrong?"
