“Come now. Look at the pretty work of art we created.”
The voice whispered almost lovingly to Raquel, trying to get her to open her eyes, but she wouldn’t. That voice belonged to the demon inside her, wanting her to gaze upon the broken body of her first love.
She was tired of reliving her past and could no longer watch every horrible part of her life. Raquel knew she had to endure it, that the curse couldn’t win, but with each passing minute, it was getting harder to resist the temptation to just let go of everything.
To give the curse full control.
“Stop resisting me.” The sickly sweet voice growled as a hand gripped her chin while another forced her left eye open. “We both know it’s useless to ignore me. I’ll always be a part of you that you can never destroy. After all, this bloodlust you have is a part of our nature. It runs in our blood.”
