Adolphus looked at his wife's photo as soon as he entered the room.
The dust settled on most of his belongings, and he pulled out his handkerchief to wipe it away.
Tears welled in his eyes as he saw his wife's happy smile as she looked at their daughter in the photo.
This was the last photo they took before she died.
"I am sorry, baby. Not only did I fail to protect you, but I failed to protect our kid, too. I thought I made the right choice by staying away from our daughter's life, but I didn't know I was the one who turned it upside down," Adolphus said.
While he looked at the photo, the man who had left the pack with him, followed him throughout his rogue life, and now returned with him, his actual beta, knocked on the door to catch his attention.
"What are you planning, sir?" He asked.
Adolphus took a deep breath.
