Chapter 249: Where is the Limit?_1

The double gravity posed no challenge to Chimchar.

Its body had long been nurtured by Energy Blocks, every inch imbued with explosive power.

Fire Punch and Thunder Punch, both executed with impressive control, allowed Chimchar to easily disperse the incoming Energy Bullets with a swing of its arm.

In terms of strength and flexibility, its performance was not hindered by the increased gravity.

"The second one now."

As the second launcher started to gather Energy Bullets, the NPC senior looked towards Chimchar.

"Not bad at all."

Though she was a student of language and literature, not a Trainer, half a year of part-time work had given her some understanding of the trials in the Gravity Room.

This Chimchar, clearly in its initial form, was performing better than most evolved Pokemon, surely a result of excellent nurturing.

Bang! Bang!

Facing the oncoming Energy Bullets, Chimchar first disbanded an Energy Bullet with Fire Punch, then swiftly turned and used the same method to scatter another from behind!

Flames danced on its fists, Chimchar's expression unchanged.

"The power of the Energy Bullets has been increased."

Chimchar quickly sensed the strength of the Energy Bullets had been enhanced, but that didn't affect much. It still dispersed each Energy Bullet with just a regular Fire Punch.

"Triple gravity!"

Fang Yuan kept a close watch on the changes in gravity. The limit for Chimchar should be to use moves normally under quadruple gravity; at five times, it would struggle a bit. Now it was just triple, so there shouldn't be any problem.

As the Energy Bullets were fired and Chimchar punched, the Energy Bullets were dispersed, and this process repeated without flashy counters. Chimchar simply used its fists to scatter each Energy Bullet, and that was all.

The greatest damage gravity inflicts on life forms is to their organs, but a Pokemon's organs are protected by energy layers, allowing for a much greater gravitational adaptation compared to humans. Soon enough, Chimchar withstood quadruple gravity. At this point, its breathing became slightly chaotic, but this was precisely its time to shine.

Regular gravity training was beneficial, as at least now it wouldn't be unable to rapidly adapt to sudden changes in gravity. Chimchar immediately adjusted its breathing and started to use the Gathering Energy Technique to counter the increasingly powerful Energy Bullets.

With focused Qi Gathering Technique, it was not easy to move under gravity; Chimchar stood still like a mountain in the Gravity Room, only raising its arm to smash at the incoming Energy Bullets.

With the Gathering Energy state, the flames became even more intense.

Neither quadruple gravity nor Energy Bullets were able to trouble Chimchar.

Beep!

The gravity surged to five times.

A drop of sweat fell from Chimchar.

"Look, Fang Yuan's results are up."

Someone in the lobby of the Gravity Training Grounds saw Fang Yuan's name appear on the big screen and promptly alerted everyone.

"Fang Yuan, D+?"

"Just D+?"

"He registered thrice, this time he probably just gave it a try, without using Solar Spirit."

After Chimchar's results came out, the others didn't take it too seriously, as no one thought Fang Yuan wouldn't be able to achieve a Level C performance.

In fact, that was indeed the case. Letting Chimchar take on the challenge was really just an attempt.

Although Chimchar had always enjoyed high-quality resources, it had only been trained for two months after all.

"Not bad, after you evolve, your body will become stronger. By then, achieving Level C shouldn't be a problem," Fang Yuan said with a smile, after Chimchar walked out from the gravity room. He had treated its arm and fist with healing medicine, where it was grazed by the aftereffects of the Energy Bullet.

"Wu~~" Chimchar scratched its head, thinking it could have helped Fang Yuan achieve a "C" grade on its own.

"Continue?" The NPC senior sister asked immediately after Fang Yuan finished applying the medicine to Chimchar.

"Of course, the real challenge starts now," Fang Yuan said, raising his head and grinning, then signaling to the Trio Magnet Monsters to enter the room.

"Senior sister, change the mode to dodging," Fang Yuan said.

"Hmm..." The NPC senior sister didn't say much, but she operated on Fang Yuan's request. The launcher was still the same one, only this time the things it would shoot out weren't Energy Bullets.

...

Once the mode was adjusted, the Trio Magnet Monsters flew into the gravity room, and a familiar feeling emerged within them. They had experienced it once in the gravity room at Emperor Capital University. Back then they weren't even as good as Chimchar, having to rely on Moves to resist flying under Quadruple Gravity. But now, the situation was definitely reversed.

"It's starting," said the NPC senior sister to give a heads-up. A few seconds later, the Trio Magnet Monsters began to feel an increased pull of gravity bearing down on them.

With a calm gaze, they activated their Electromagnetic Power, effortlessly using Electromagnetic Waves to shield against Double Gravity. To them, Double Gravity was as good as nothing; they moved as they wished.

Whoosh!

A beam of light was emitted, initially not too fast...

"If it was me, I could do it too," Fang Yuan muttered. If he could shield against gravity like the Trio Magnet Monsters, he could dodge a beam of light at this speed...

Since Fang Yuan thought he could dodge, it was even easier for the Trio Magnet Monsters. After all, light beams don't turn corners. When they sensed it, they sidestepped, and the beam shot past them.

The Solar Spirit yawned as it watched the Trio Magnet Monsters dodge. The three clumsy monsters were too slow in dodging.

Silly!

...

"What do you think Fang Yuan's results will be?"

"At least B- I bet. Maybe even a B+," analyzed a boy from the Battle Society.

So far, only Xu Lan was rated at Level B. This analysis already spoke highly of Fang Yuan.

"Hehe, with his skills, I bet it's at least an A," another person commented sarcastically. He was Shi Yiming, also a new member of the Battle Society with considerable strength, one of the more notable novices. His grandfather was a Master Level Trainer from a prestigious family. He loved to show off, and so he had a somewhat inexplicable aversion to trainers like Fang Yuan who were frequently talked about and who had an air of mysterious disconnection.

"A? Level A is the standard for the school team members," Lin Sen glanced at Shi Yiming, "Why don't you go for an A then?"

Shi Yiming retorted casually, "A? Can't afford it."

...

Meanwhile, Fang Yuan, The Solar Spirit, and Chimchar watched unblinkingly at the Trio Magnet Monsters... by now, they had easily blocked five times the gravity and were comfortably handling beams from two different directions.

"Keep it up," Fang Yuan thought to himself.

Through Thunder Baptism and Magnetic Field Baptism, the Trio Magnet Monsters' Electromagnetic Force had far surpassed their Mental Power. Therefore, just how many times gravity they could block with Electromagnetic Waves and where their limits were—Fang Yuan was eager to find out.
