No Risk, No Death

"What's going on?" "You'll know when you go out. I don't know how to explain it!" John said somewhat helplessly.

Following John, Clark walked outside, and with Olivia Turner supporting her, Emma Kensington also joined them. Outside the mansion, it seemed like there were two people engaged in some activity.

Upon closer inspection, it was Robert and William. After Clark dealt with these two guys, they completely lost their credibility here. Clark didn't bother with them, letting them eat and stay with the others without special treatment. These days, everything seemed calm.

But now, the two guys had managed to escape, and Robert seemed to be screaming in agony.

"That guy is tied to a tree; something seems to have gone wrong," John said urgently.

Robert was bound to a tree, while William stood beside him, using a small knife to leisurely cut and slash at his body, creating wounds that oozed blood. The blood stained Robert's clothes crimson.

"Die, all of you die!" William grinned ferociously.

"Help! Save me! I don't want to die!" Robert weakly shouted, desperately hoping for John and the others to come to his rescue.

It was ironic – just a few days ago, he was swaggering in front of John, and now he urgently wanted them to save his life.

"No, that William is attracting the zombie horde with blood!" Emma Kensington immediately grasped the key to the situation.

Zombies are most sensitive to human blood, and even from a dozen kilometers away, they can detect the scent of fresh blood in the air.

"How long has he been doing this?" Olivia Turner asked anxiously, hoping to stop it in time.

"It's too late; so much blood has flowed, it will definitely attract the zombie horde," Emma Kensington shook her head. Her experience told her that it was beyond salvation.

"Inform everyone quickly, take what we can, leave what we can't. We need to evacuate!" Emma Kensington began organizing immediately.

John nodded and hurried back inside.

Clark walked up to the large iron gate, with only about ten meters separating him from William. He could clearly see the deformed expression on William's face.

"Why are you doing this? Do you realize you might end up killing everyone?" Clark shouted loudly. Facing zombies, he could be ruthless, but when it came to dealing with humans, he still had some reservations. However, at this moment, if given the choice, he truly wished he could have killed this demon in advance to prevent him from harming everyone.

"Haha, you didn't listen to me, and it left me with nothing. I want you all to die, all of you to die!" William became angrier as he spoke, his face transforming from ferocious to insane.

People like William, who could keep calm and had a bit of cunning, finally enjoyed a more comfortable life than others. He had seized control of all available resources for his own enjoyment, but in an instant, he lost everything. This contrast was enough to drive him mad. He hated everyone who didn't listen to him. He didn't assassinate Clark because he wanted everyone to die!

As for Robert, his former lackey, he had become a pitiful sacrifice.

Robert was on the verge of passing out from excessive blood loss. Only at this moment did he realize that, in William's eyes, he meant nothing. He wanted to curse, but he had no strength left, so he could only use his eyes to plead for help from Clark and the others.

Not far from the mansion, a horde of zombies had already emerged, a dense mass moving rapidly towards them.

"Haha, here they come!" William laughed, seeing his plan succeed. He ran in the opposite direction, "When you all die, I'll be the only winner. Only I can survive!"

Running and laughing, he was elated and proud. His schemes were always so perfect, and he had always plundered others with his intellect, never failing.

However, as he laughed heartily and ran, a shadow suddenly fell from the sky. This shadow, like a ghost, directly targeted William. Then, a pair of claws grabbed William and lifted him into the air.

William screamed in agony, but he quickly fell silent, lifeless.

"That's a giant bat?" Clark finally saw the shape of the shadow, appearing to be a bat magnified thousands of times. Its claws, like iron hooks, pierced through William's chest. It then tore his body in half and began feasting on him in mid-air.

Blood and entrails scattered on the ground, and the things that fell to the ground were eagerly devoured by the zombie horde.

At this moment, Robert, still tied to the tree, screamed loudly in fear. However, no matter how he shouted or struggled, he couldn't get down from the tree.

Soon, he was surrounded by the zombie horde. After a few miserable screams, he lost his breath completely. The zombies bit off chunks of his flesh, exposing bones, and he was dismembered entirely.

Two living individuals were devoured right before his eyes!

At this moment, Clark also felt his scalp tingling. Previously, he had only seen some black bloodstains, never something as graphic as what just happened.

Simultaneously, he understood why the survivors were so terrified and fearful. Being manipulated by William's small trick was enough to intimidate them. In times of extreme fear, people often try to grasp onto something, and once this psychological vulnerability is exploited, individuals become easily controlled.

"After that major disaster, many creatures mutated, becoming larger and turning into zombies with powerful aggressiveness," Emma Kensington explained. She had already opened the device strapped to her arm, revealing a short knife and several darts inside.

This should be her last weapon.

Earlier, when those two B-level zombies treated her as bait, injured her, and then ignored her, she managed to retain these weapons.

"Now you understand, don't you? We're not just facing zombies, but all mutated creatures. Being a human and still alive is no easy feat. So, in certain circumstances, some methods are necessary," Emma Kensington's eyes revealed a sense of determination.

Clark sensed there was more to her words, but at this critical moment, there was no time to inquire further. Olivia Turner and John, along with others, emerged from inside. Seeing that the mansion was surrounded by numerous zombies, some people were scared to tears and immediately retreated.

"Tell everyone to go back. Try to gather those courageous enough to fight. Each person will be given a homemade bomb. We need to kill as many zombies as possible later!" Emma Kensington's face showed a touch of resolve.

As the team leader, she had experienced much more than James.
