The next day came quite quick, bright, and shiny. Amara was already having a breakfast with her parents.
"We don't have any long schedules today!" Harry said happily.
Isobel nodded, "Let's get back home quick to have some peaceful time spent, then!" she suggested.
They both waited for Amara's response while the lady, Amara, bobbed her head with a wide smile.
They chuckled in unison, "Supermarket to be added in the list, need to buy the groceries!!" Isobel said with a shrug!
Amara showed up her thumbs saying okay with a nod before continuing her meal.
Later, the routine happened in the hospital. Amara assisted her mother for a while, today, treating and prescribing the patients instead of just noting down the information.
She even suggested her mother to have the department shifted to the ground floor instead so the patients wouldn't find it difficult to navigate the place, after all, most of the patients refer this department.
Isobel thoughtfully accepted her suggestion, saying she would definitely discuss this topic with her staff as the head in charge. "You learn quick!!" She appreciated by how fast did she adapt the knowledge.
Only if she knew she took care of the management for two whole years, and wished the changes she did were what she did with their assistance.
After lunch, Amara today assisted her father, who was in a meeting with his fellow doctors, discussing about an operation. Despite not having a deep knowledge about neurology, Amara paid attention, as they discussed on the procedures of the surgery.
After everyone leaving and only both of them being left behind, Amara stood reaching her father who still kept studying his file.
With a slight bend, she took another file which was arranged for other doctors, to check about the surgery details, as she randomly asked, "When are we going to perform the surgery?!" turning the pages.
"In two days!" Harry replied without gazing up from the file.
However, Amara couldn't take it with ease, the file falling from her hands right down on the table as she heard him.
Harry looked at her by the sound, "What's with that reaction?" he asked with a smile before looking back to the file.
Amara hesitated, "It's ..... your anniversary day, isn't it ...?!"
Harry gave a nod, "I know, but it's an emergency, the patient is in critical condition and the surgery needs to be done as early as possible!", he said with a shook, "Can't be delayed!!"
"So, mother would be assisting you?!" She asked hesitatingly.
Harry looked up, "No dear, you mother would be on leave!" he said softly, "How can I let my wife work on the special occasion?!"
Amara smiled faintly, "I'll assist you?!"
Harry took a pause before with a deep breath taking off his spects, "I however would like you to assist your mother," he suggested, "she would all be alone in home, and I wouldn't like that!!"
"Please dad?!"
Harry shook his head, "If you insist, she will insist on avoiding a leave!!"
"And I would be back soon!!"
Amara didn't believe it, will be back soon, this statement, she lost hope in this when it didn't work out two years ago.
"What if mother agrees?!" She tried her luck.
Harry sighed, "I don't understand why do you insist!!"
Amara still looked at her father with pleading puppy eyes and finally Harry sighed hard, putting on his spects, "Alright, my stubborn fairy, if she agrees, you are free to do so!!" he said with a shook, focusing back on his work!
Amara smiled wide, soon reaching and planting a soft quick kiss on his cheek, "Thank you, dada!!", before rushing out of the room.
Harry chuckled.
Amara then rushed to her mother asking for permission, and when finally she got one, she couldn't help but hug her mother.
Time passed as they worked and in the evening, they finally decided to leave. As planned, Amara drove to the supermarket, parking the car, they all went for shopping.
However, when they stood for billing, Amara and Isobel were wondered of why Harry wasn't taking out the pay card.
Harry kept searching his pockets and jacket, feeling defeated as he found them empty.
"What's the matter?!" Amara asked.
"I seem to have forgot the cards in the car itself!!" Harry said scratching his head.
Isobel shook her head.
Amara smiled, "Let me get them for you!!"
Harry denied, "Do not bother, I will!"
Amara with a soft smile shook her head, "Not at all bothered"
"You need to cross the road!!" Harry remained reluctant.
"And I'm no kid!" Amara winked, "Wait for me!!" she said and just rushed out of there.
While Isobel kept looking at him.
"Why do you stare me such way??" Harry asked embarrassed.
"It's just me wondering!"
"About what?" He asked looking away shyly.
Isobel cleared her voice, "Wondering, how can you keep forgetting about trivial things and still be a great neuro surgeon!!"
Harry looked back at her with a smirk, "That's because I have someone who will always take care of me!" he said with a smile, "To remember me the forgotten things as well!!"
Isobel with a chuckle shook her head.
************
Amara kept waiting for the red signal, feeling somehow frustrated already. It's taking too much time for the green signal for road crossers and she already was feeling hot due to the weather.
She almost sighed in relief when her eyes took a view of green signal and she rushed to cross the road.
However, a car with almost unstoppable speed, ignoring the red light, rushed at her, she was about to reach the other end when she witnessed it and her instant action was to protect herself, her raised hands covering her face as she screamed.
Amara shut her eyes tight in fear, however, suddenly she felt her right arm being grabbed, herself being pulled by someone. Her eyes were still shut as she unintentionally embraced the person, in a swirl as he turned, his hands resting against her waist, and on her head, protectively.
Everything happened in seconds, her breath struggling for air. The loud noise of car hitting a tree was the only thing that made her open her eyes slowly. Her heartbeat echoing in her ears.
Oh god!
What was that?!
She saw a man getting out of the car, with minor injuries, seemingly the car had lost its breaks. She felt thankful for, seeing the man safe, having herself saved, and denying her father and choosing to come instead.
Her gaze fell over her bracelet which again shimmered in green light, as the man who embraced her gently patted on her head.
He so gently pushed her yet still holding her arms softly, taking a look at her.
Amara saw his eyes glowing in golden again, he saved her. Her fingers unintentionally holding his coat as she watched him in silence, time feeling at pause suddenly.
"Are you alright?!" Zamiel asked concerned, cupping her face.
She couldn't help but nod slowly.
Zamiel sighed, "I told you to take care of yourself!!" he reminded softly.
Amara gulped, "Thank you!" she whispered.
He nodded slowly, a moment of silent gaze being exchanged between them before he let go of her.
She stepped away, not knowing what to say, she looked away for a moment before deciding to speak, "I'm going to get the pay cards!" she explained softly.
He nodded, "Okay".
"I mean you could, accompany me?!"
Zamiel nodded again with a smile, "Of course!!".
She smiled and they walked towards the car together. After getting the cards, they headed to supermarket together again.
However, her heart skipped a beat when he held her hand protectively and walked beside her, having her walk on the safe side.
His....wife would have been lucky!!
She thought.
Zamiel smiled faintly, hearing her. Lucky, only if he was, he wouldn't have let her leave.
However, he did feel lucky to have her, his Heaven.
As they slowly reached the supermarket, he let her hand go.
Amara cleared her voice, "Thank you....again!", unknown that a blush slowly crept over her face.
Zamiel smiled with a nod. Oh, how beautiful she looks when she blushes!!
"Well..... I have a request!"
"What is it?!" Zamiel wondered.
"My father, has a surgery suddenly planned, for the anniversary. I.... decided to stay with him!"
Zamiel nodded understandingly.
Amara hesitated before letting her thoughts out, "My mother would be on leave, and.... home alone! I would feel thankful if you can...."
Zamiel smiled, "Rest assured, I'll make sure she won't be facing any problem!!"
Amara smiled wide, her white teeth being at display, which only made him chuckle, "But...."
Zamiel assured again, "Worry not, I won't let her acknowledge my presence."
Amara sighed in relief, "That's really assuring!!"
Zamiel caressed her hair which again made her blush, her cheeks turning red.
He couldn't help but watch her more, how long was it that she smiled this way, wholeheartedly!
He had no more regrets now, whatever the outcome is, he will bear it, just for this smile!! And he promised himself, not to ever let anything grab away this smile from her.
On the other way, Amara who watched him in silence, remained in a dilemma of whether to leave or not, for a second, before she took a deep breath, "I can introduce you to my parents, if you would.....like to?!"
Zamiel's brows raised, "And.....how would you introduce me?!"
Amara shrugged, "I'll tell them....." her words stuck as she pondered over it, with a shake of her hand she turned away, "See you, Zamiel!!", and she left!
Zamiel couldn't help but chuckle.
