Zamiel's Past! (Part 5)

"So, what do you have to offer?!"

Zamiel didn't know what to do, what did he have to offer? Offer something precious?!

He only had his life in his hands right now, but...he couldn't offer it now. He is in need of a very long life to achieve his goal, the reason why he was here.

"...I don't have anything to offer in return! I left everything what I had, for I lost all what I thought was my everything!"

Silence carried away, until the voice echoed again, "In centuries, you have been the only one to summon me, my child. Your dedication is something auspicious!! And your presence is my pleasant."

"However, I am bound to the rules. I can only bless you with the immortality if you satisfy my condition."

Zamiel felt lost and defeated. All the two months of training, Jade and Cassandra's efforts and his waiting, did it all mean nothing?!

"Unlike the immortal beings, humans are blessed with the essence of life. A life which is short yet an eternity. It's upsetting that you couldn't get something precious for yourself out of your life!!"

Zamiel looked down at his bare hands. Was he blessed as a human?!

Yes, he was a born royal, lead his life with all the comforts and luxury. He had a loving family. In fact, he had everything a human would always wish and want.

However, what did he gain from the royalty? Something which would have saved his wife? Something which is precious to him and could be offered now?!

...Nothing!!

All his life....meant nothing!! Except.....the love and the memories he shared. With his family and his beloved.

How can he offer them?!

Can he?!

A tear fell down his eye, his palm becoming wet.

With his misty eyes, the golden rings around his fingers took his attention.

After a moment of careful thought, with a heavy heart, he took that pair of golden rings out of his fingers.

The rings....were his wedding rings.

The only thing which remained as his wife's memory other than his memories, is her wedding ring, which he took with himself while leaving behind everything.

His fingers treasured the rings, giving them the gentle caresses.

With a heavy heart, he looked up, holding out his hands in an offering way, "I don't have anything with me to offer, except...this!"

"You were right!! Human life though short, comes with a lot of blessings in disguise. Family, friendship, love, hatred, enemies, happiness and sorrow. The....real life!! I have seen and experienced almost of these in my life!!"

Zamiel sighed, "However, I don't carry any of the material things I cherished once, with me to offer now, except my wedding rings!!"

"These aren't just my wedding rings but the only evidence I have, on behalf of the love I have shared with my beloved. My wife, who's....no more in this world, to assist me!"

"This exists in her remembrance, and all of those memories I have with her!! They are, very precious to me!!"

With a deep inhale, he bowed his head, "And so, I, Zamiel Bernadotte, am willing to offer these precious rings of mine to you, which aren't just rings but the symbol of my and my beloved's love! I offer our eternity of love we experienced in this mortality of life, in return to gain the immortality! Will you be.... willing to accept it?!"

The silence began to eat Zamiel up as he kept his head down. Another tear falling down his closed eye.

After a moment which felt like eternity, Zamiel felt the weight of the rings in his palm lift up. As he raised his head to see, the rings were floating in front him. He stared them in wonderment for they began to glow, the gold rings shining with a divine gold light.

"The eternity you have offered is eternally greater than what I can provide you, my child!!" The voice echoed.

Zamiel kept staring up as the rings began to fly away from him, ultimately merging into the clouds, disappearing forever with a last glimmer.

"Humans avail many things which they consider precious in their life. I'm glad yours is love!!"

Zamiel's heart ached, to have the only thing existing in the remembrance of his wife being given away.

However, the thought of meeting her again fortunately one day, ahead in future, kept him up for any possible misery other than her absence.

"However, my establishment was to forever justify the immortality, in all of the circumstances. To maintain balance in the three realms, I wouldn't wish to bless any with inappropriate intent, the immortality."

Zamiel nodded understandingly, "If it is the case, I take the oath, to never misuse my blessing. To never take advantage of being an immortal!! I promise I will always choose the good path to walk on!".

"With that, I, the servant of the Overlord, the origin and the defender of the immortality, the eternal, hereby convert you, Zamiel Bernadotte, a human into an immortal, blessing you with the divine immortality!"

The voice now echoed around way stronger than it did before. As though declaring his conversion.

With the words, a divine beam of golden light started to emit from the nothingness, ultimately emerging into Zamiel's body, his eyes instantly shutting and hands joining in respect and gratitude, with his head bowed down.

The light kept merging into his body, and he felt the change within.

As though something within him stirred. A sense of completeness embracing him. As though, gaining a wisdom beyond his life and its experiences. Feeling stronger than he had ever felt in his whole life.

Something very.... divine and auspicious.

Something inexplicably pleasant.

Once the light completely merged into his entire existence, Zamiel opened his eyes which now glowed in gold, with a burning fire residing in them.

"I have blessed you with the immortality my child, however, what naturally is created can never be changed. And as the being who gave you this life, I'm ought to let you acknowledge that the human in you still stays till he dies! In any such life threatening situation, where the human in you would die, then will you become a complete immortal!! Until then, you would only be a demigod and with the powers that comes from being one!!"

Zamiel provided an understanding nod at the acknowledgement.

"And the self-cultivation to unleash the immortal within you, depends on you!!"

Zamiel bowed in gratitude again, "Your help will always be recognised in my life, thank you!!"

Soon, the golden light around him which emerged from the clouds began to fade slow by slow while he felt a heavy force beginning to pull him back with great strength. His sight blurring from the force applied on him, his body immoveable, and he felt himself getting away from the divine light by every passing second.

************

Zamiel opened his eyes, which glowed with burning fire. He remained seated in front of the crystal.

Was that all a dream?!

Never.

He felt a new spirit arising within him, a strange force running through his veins.

He knew it, he realised it, that he, is not the same anymore.

That he had accomplished the mission he was here for.

The demons with all the struggle being surpassed were few inches away from him, trying to stop him from connecting himself with the origin spiritually or disturb him if he had already did so.

Zamiel with a sudden force, stood up, effortlessly stepping out of the black ring which soon then transformed back into its normal size, automatically fitting to his finger.

As he turned back, a demon finally who was near to him, tried to touch him.

Zamiel pushed him away gently, however the demon flew away with a force.

Everyone being surprised by the man's sudden strength, including Zamiel himself.

As their gazes fell back on him, silence followed, everything being paused. By now, they have understood he had accomplished in becoming an immortal. And so, the divine power of origin is presently running in his body.

Zamiel held his hand out, summoning his sword, which began to glow in burning fire the next moment it got into his hands.

Fear embraced their souls, to fight him now would only mean their end.

With the realisation, most of the demons disappeared, stepping back from their aim to defeat him, except the one who challenged Zamiel in the beginning.

The demon glared him in annoyance.

Zamiel watched him with a smile, "Can we celebrate? Cause I succeeded."

Holding out his free hand, he shrugged, "Wanna join?!"

The demon who felt even more enraged by his words now, teleported himself towards Zamiel with a speed unnoticed by his eyes. In attack.

However, Zamiel was quick enough to dodge the demon's attack, while as well attacking back the demon. His quick actions surprising the demon.

Zamiel smiled with his now sword whose tip was against the demons throat, ready to slit it. "Your friends seem disloyal, they left you behind!!"

A chuckle escaped the demon, "Not more than ten minutes have surpassed that you have become an immortal, and you already are keeping up the rivalry between the us and immortals!!"

Zamiel sighed, "In my journey to here, I've had to acknowledge the past of the great legend, the divine establishment of the three realms. I understand whatever that happened between you guys might be unchangeable! However, I have no much interest in maintaining the so called rivalry you are living for!!"

"Then why to still hate me?!"

The demon grimaced , "We lost our king cause of you guys and...you ask why...? Indeed we hate you guys! See....now even a lowly human....is being converted into....an immortal!"

Zamiel was for a second taken aback. What did he....even do to them?! He is just now converted immortal! What did he even have to do with what happened in the past?! He sighed at their blind rivalry or whether the justice they think they need to get. Setting the demon free from his sword's grip. "I have more important things to do than fighting for something I don't relate with!!" And with that, Zamiel began to walk away.

"I hope we never meet again human, for I'm sure gonna kill you the next time if we ever do!!" The demon gave him a glare.

Zamiel only could shake his head for that, before leaving the scene.

Cassandra and grandma Jade would be waiting for him!!
