Diplomatic Smiles

"Kordia!? Prince Kassin?!"

Kordia flinched as Lapins identified her in front of what must have been half the Montmorency court in her retinue.

Even if Kordia knew none of them, the reactions to her name alone were enough to tell her that they knew of her.

"Lapins... I can explain-"

"You eloped and you didn't tell me?!"

What?

It took a second for the realization of her situation to catch up to her.

Here she was, with her fiance, walking out of a church.

"Oh! How romantic!" "I wish my fiance would take me away like that." "Did we miss the wedding?"

The tittering of Lapins' vapid retinue managed to snap Kordia out of the pure shock of being discovered so quickly. "W-we aren't married!"

"Yet," Kassin interjected.

"Oh. Right. You must have just gotten here," Lapins blushed. "You're still in your travel clothes after all."
