Kir landed on his back, Amarena's swords at his throat.

"I almost had you," he said.

"I thought we weren't holding back," she chuckled. "And you're right, that trick of yours almost worked." She withdrew and sheathed her blades before offering him a hand. "Too bad I'm too light on my feet."

Their sparring grounds were almost entirely churned mud now, as Kir had focused on slowing Amarena's speed more than anything else. "I'm not entirely sure about that," Kir said, rubbing his chin after standing.

He was looking at the muddy field, but something was off. He was trying to put his finger on it when Amarena slapped him on the back.

"Still worrying over the foxes?"

"No, it's not that... I trust Kordia is alright because she said so. And besides, she has the radio."

"Another convenient thing you've pulled out of your ass." Kiryu said. "Or mine, rather. You're welcome for a lifetime of knowledge."
