Chapter 23: Unexpected Neighbors

In front of Mutsuki were three scrolls. He opened them one by one. The first scroll contained money, and Mutsuki counted it – a total of two hundred thousand ryo.

Mutsuki neatly arranged the money. Money is always good, no matter the world.

Ninjas are also big spenders. Whether it's various ninja tools or the secret medicines needed for training, it all costs money.

Next, he opened the second scroll, revealing a C-rank Ninjutsu, Fire Release: Flame Bullet.

This was a Ninjutsu that Mutsuki hadn't drawn yet. However, he had already mastered many Fire Release techniques, both wide-ranging and flexible. There was no need to waste time practicing Flame Bullet.

Mutsuki then picked up the last scroll and opened it. This one contained Danzo's response to the report.

Danzo first praised Mutsuki's completion of the mission. Becoming an outstanding teacher so quickly and earning praise from Lord Third, he was very satisfied. Danzo rewarded him and hoped that Mutsuki would continue to...

Skipping Danzo's bullshit paragraph, Mutsuki directly focused on Danzo's request.

"To become the private tutor of Sarutobi Asuma, gain his trust, and become someone he respects." This was Danzo's response to Mutsuki's report.

Mutsuki stored away the Ninjutsu scroll and then burned the other two scrolls. Although he didn't practice them, they were obtained through Danzo's connections, so it felt a bit wasteful to burn them.

"That old man Danzo just can't let go of the position of the Hokage," Mutsuki sighed.

Clearly, Danzo had some thoughts about Lord Third's youngest son.

But Mutsuki didn't really care. At worst, he could set aside a few hours on the weekend.

If Asuma's talent could reach an S level, Mutsuki wouldn't mind having him as a disciple. After all, he still had an empty disciple spot.

"Should I sell the house in the main city area?" Mutsuki thought of something.

The original owner didn't initially live near the sparsely populated southern forest. In fact, he had a house in the main city area of Konoha, passed down from his parents.

However, in order to conceal his identity, he had set up a house in the southern forest.

Although he didn't stay there much, the original owner used to go back every year to clean up the house in the main city area.

Thinking that since he didn't live there, he might as well sell it, Mutsuki remembered the location was quite good. It might be worth a decent amount of money, and he could use that money to buy secret medicines for training.

Even though he had the system's assistance, any self-improvement was a plus.

With these thoughts in mind, Mutsuki got up and headed towards the main city area of Konoha, preparing to check out the house and maybe clean it up for selling.

Following the original owner's memories, Mutsuki found the house. As he was about to take out the key to go inside, he noticed a blond figure coming out of the adjacent house.

"Hello, are you a new resident?" Minato Namikaze greeted curiously.

He had bought this house several months ago, and it was the first time he saw someone entering the house on the right. Minato Namikaze thought a new neighbor had moved in.

When Mutsuki turned around, Minato Namikaze looked at the blond hair and blue eyes and instantly recalled their previous encounters in the library with Mutsuki.

It's not that his superhuman memory remembers every person he encounters. It's just that Minato also has blond hair and blue eyes. Combined with Mutsuki's gentle smile, Minato felt like he had encountered another version of himself, leaving a deep impression.

"No, this is my house. However, due to some reasons, I moved out, and I rarely come back," Mutsuki greeted with a smile.

He felt that there was no need to sell the house; keeping it would be nice.

Before, he was worried about not being able to get close to Minato and freeload knowledge of Sealing Jutsu. Now, they were neighbors, and technically, Minato moved in later.

"Minato, I've come to find you."

At this moment, a lively female voice chimed in.

"Hey, Minato, you never told me you have another brother who looks quite similar to you."

Kushina looked at Mutsuki, who also had blond hair and blue eyes with a gentle smile on his face, unable to resist making a playful remark.

Looking at their overall facial features, they didn't really resemble each other, but the dazzling golden hair and that kind of smile really gave Kushina a feeling of seeing brothers.

"I'm sorry, this is my girlfriend. As you can see, she's a bit too lively. Please forgive her," Minato apologized to Mutsuki.

"This is my neighbor..." Minato wanted to mention Mutsuki's name but realized he didn't know it yet.

"I'm Mutsuki Yumi," Mutsuki introduced himself.

"Hello there! I'm Kushina Uzumaki. Your name sounds pretty nice," Kushina, embracing Minato from behind, leaned forward and introduced herself.

"Hello, I'm Minato Namikaze," Minato smiled and gently lifted Kushina off him.

"Thanks, your fiery red hair looks great too," Mutsuki complimented back.

Kushina's eyes instantly lit up, and she gave a thumbs up. "Nice! You've got good taste," she said, feeling that Mutsuki was quite articulate.

As Mutsuki opened the gate to his house, dust hidden in the gaps began to diffuse.

Mutsuki glanced inside and saw that it wasn't particularly dirty, just a bit dusty from not being occupied for a long time.

"Sorry, I'm afraid I can't entertain you right now. I need to clean up first," Mutsuki turned around and said.

"That's okay; we won't disturb you then," Minato replied, leading Kushina back to their home.

Watching Kushina's departing figure, Mutsuki performed an appraisal.

[Name: Kushina]

[Chakra: 150,000(???)]

[Potential: SS]

[Evaluation: Proficient in Sealing Jutsu, possesses an extraordinary amount of unique Chakra beyond ordinary expectations]

Mutsuki could only say that the amount of Chakra made him envious. As for the Chakra, there was a question mark in parentheses – something Mutsuki had never seen before. He believed it was because Kushina had become the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, but the Nine-Tails itself wasn't identified, hence the question mark.

Kushina's potential was indeed a bit intimidating. A double-S potential was the highest Mutsuki had seen so far. However, considering the original work, Mutsuki speculated that at least one of the S potentials was due to having the Nine-Tails inside. Without the Nine-Tails, Kushina's potential would drop to an S level.

Otherwise, with a double-S potential, even without the Nine-Tails, if Kushina had developed normally, she could have surpassed Lord Third and Minato, who both have an S potential.

Mutsuki used the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu to create clones and instructed them to start cleaning the house. Once again, he marveled at Tobirama's genius for developing such a convenient Ninjutsu like the Shadow Clone.

After finishing the cleaning, Mutsuki bought some daily necessities to put in the house. He didn't rush to visit Minato's house and build relationships; instead, he planned to occasionally stay here and let the friendship with Minato develop naturally.

Opening the window, he felt the evening breeze and began to enrich the training plans for his disciples. Might Guy and Obito, who didn't get the top spot in their grade, needed targeted reinforcement training. As for Shisui, Mutsuki planned to enhance his Chakra Control ability, improving his current combat power and laying the foundation for future Genjutsu learning.
