"Miss Estrella."
Mountain's voice was as gruff as ever, deep, but now lacking some of the energy he used to show.
Estrella nodded, about to step forward to keep advancing, before she paused. She looked into the green eyes and asked calmly:
"Do you know where Erick is?"
It was Mountain's turn to pause, before he shook his head in the next moment:
"I don't know, madam."
Estrella gave him a look, and nodded, before resuming her advance. She even stopped fiddling with her terminal, maybe having found the answer she had been looking for, maybe not, or maybe for an entirely different reason.
Behind, Hannah looked at Mountain, and both moved to follow. Hannah's gaze fell on the exposed scars, and her heart lurched. It was not only because of the pain the wounds must have caused before and after the battle, but also because of how they left Mountain with seemingly indelible traces.
