THE LETTER

Desmonda stirred lazily before her eyes fluttered open to meet a pair of unfamiliar beautiful brown ones. Though she wasn't sure of the reality until her hazy vision cleared and she finally recognized Amira from the other day.

Desmonda jerked up immediately and quickly moved away from her, fear was very visible in her eyes as she stared at Amira with a racing heart.

"Who are you?" She questioned.

"I am Queen Amira, don't be scared -"

"No, please... You have to leave" Desmonda jumped down from the bed and ran into the closet.

"Wait, don't go. I just want to talk "

"Please I cannot talk with you. If mother find you here she won't be happy"

"Mother?"

"You have to go, please..."

"I'm not going anywhere, if you really want me to leave then come out and have a word with me"

Desmonda went quiet, having a rethink about what Amira just said. She honestly did not want to talk to anyone because her mother strictly asked her never to do so.

She reconsidered Amira's request and thought that if she allowed her to talk then she would go away

"Alright..." Desmonda muttered as she slowly came out of the closet but stood at a distance.

"Can you come closer?" Amira asked but was replied with a short "no please "

"It's fine, what is your name?"

"I'm desmonda"

"Okay, I'm Amira, the new Queen"

"Oh... Welcome" she muttered

"Thank you" Amira smiled while admiring the girls beauty, she was undoubtedly beautiful with her outstanding blue eyes.

"So, what are you doing in here?"

"This is my room"

"Oh, You don't come out?"

"I'm not allowed to"

"Why? Did you do anything wrong?"

"Mother forbade me from showing my face"

"Mother? Is she your mother?"

"Umm..." Desmonda trailed off, she realized that she had said enough.

"Please leave, your majesty. If mother finds out about your visit, I will get punished" she said in a pleading tone.

Amira noticed the desperation in the girls voice so she decided to leave but still having in mind to return back later because her curiosity only gotten worse.

She never knew that she had a sister in law, and why was she locked up? With the looks of things, the queen dowager wasn't treating her well. Amira wanted to know everything concerning Desmonda.

"Alright, but I'll still come back"

Amira stood up from the bed and gently walked out of the room, making sure to lock it properly.

Sunnyshire

"My king, you requested for my presence" Lord Wesley bowed to king Herald who was seated on his throne.

"Yes, I called to know how things are going"

"It is all good, your highness, the case has been closed".

"Good. Keep an eye on your lad, I will not appreciate another incident like this one. The Lives of the people are important and you know that "

"Yes, your highness."

"If anything of such should repeat itself, you and your household will face the due consequences "

Lots Wesley gulped nervously "yes, your highness " he bowed.

"Good. And wait, what was that nonsense Jake was ranting about going after Amira, I hope he was only bluffing?" Herald's eyes squinted in question.

"I am afraid I can't say much about it, his works are always done in secret but I can tell that he meant l what he said, I don't know why he is proving stubborn "

"And what has the council of vampires have to say about this?"

"I have no idea but I have this feeling that they will support him, judging from the bad blood and resentment that vampires have with demons."

"Oh, this won't be nice, do well to stop your son, I smell a very serious danger lurking around "

"I will try my best, your highness "

"Good, you may leave"

"Thank you, your highness Lord Wesley bowed before leaving while Herald stared at his retreating image as different thoughts ran wild in his mind.

He could not help but wonder what manner of obsession that Jake had towards Amira. There was no way that herald would have allowed his daughter to marry Jake who was a blood sucking creature, definitely he would suck her dry one day.

"Oh that child, quite a troublesome young man"

"Amira..." King herald remembered his daughter, he wondered how she was doing and how she was accepting her life as a married woman.

"Definitely, they should be expecting a child by now " he muttered out his thoughts as he hurried out of his courtroom, going up the stairs and into his chamber.

Herald found his wife sitting on a chair while writing something on a paper

"Lin, what are you writing?" He asked while approaching her with a piqued interest.

"I want to write a letter to Amira, it's been three months and we haven't heard from her"

"Okay... That's a good idea, write her and tell her that everything will be fine, assure her that her husband loves her, I know he does. I've seen the way he looks at her..."

Darkvalley

Zoriel~

I walked down the hallway with rhythmic strides, neither in a hurry nor slow pace. My mind had drifted away to random things and I payed no attention to my surroundings.

Though my senses returned back but only at the moment when I crossed Amira's door, I noticed that the door was ajar and also that the room was empty.

'Where did she go?' I wondered. These past few days, I had restrained myself from going to see her, she needed some space so I had given her enough space though my spirit longed to be with her but I never wanted to give her trouble and also did not like the constant rejection.

I could feel my demon growling inside me with discomfort, wanting to override my sanity but I put in much effort to pull myself together.

I faced forward and continued my movement but on a second thought, I made a three sixty degree and returned back to her door, I pushed it and went in.

It was no surprise that the whole place reeked of orderliness which greeted my view, I have known Amira to be very orderly in the things she did.

Oh, that scent, that marvelous scent of Amira filled the atmosphere, making me want her even more.

My eyes caught a sheet of paper on her table, it seemed she was writing something, I was impressed with the fact that she knew how to write and I wanted to know what she wrote about.

With excitement, picked up the paper and began to read but after each word I read, my anger gradually resurfaced.

"Dear Jake... I'm sorry for leaving you, I never wanted to. I was forced to marry this man and I can't see myself loving him even in the next one hundred years to come..."

I couldn't read further because that was the last straw that held my sanity, my demon overpowered me in a fit of raging anger, disfiguring my human form into a hideous creature while my clothes ripped apart due to too much stretching.

I squeezed the paper in my hand and it burned to ashes, my breath hiked and eyes darkened in anger.

"Who the fuck is Jake and why is Amira writing a letter to him?"

Who gave him the right to love my woman?

No one had the right to be with Amira except me!..

Amidst my raging spirit and outrageous mood, light footsteps drew my attention towards the entrance.

She had returned back.
