SHOCKING INFORMATION

"What are you doing here?" She asked me as soon as she entered the room, thankfully I had managed to shift back to my human form before she came in and was staring at me like I was a ghost.

I searched in her eyes but I did not see that usually hatred and resentment that usually lingered in them whenever she stared at me, it was a good sign, wasn't it?

I watched as her eyes brightened up with some kind of energy and she charged towards the table, obviously looking for the letter which she was writing to JAKE.

"Where is it?" She asked with a low confused voice.

"Where is what?

"Stop, I'm not joking"

"Are you looking for your letter?" I asked, hoping that she would say 'no' but I was wrong.

"Where is it?"

At this point, I could not help but wonder why she fancied someone else when I was her husband. Why does she love Jake? What did Jake do to make her love him so much?

What do I have to do make her love me even more than Jake? Will she ever love me?

And most especially, how will she feel when she finds out my true Identity?

I mindlessly freed my folded fist and ashes of the burnt paper poured out to the floor

"What...? What did you do?" She rushed towards the ashes and I walked out of her room.

I came into my room and met my supposed husband standing all alone, his clothes were all torn, dangling on his thin body frame while he had an expression which I couldn't detect.

What an awkward way to meet after so many days of ignoring me, not like I cared though.

Obviously, I wanted to ask him why his clothes were torn but I swallowed back my question.

"What are you doing here ?" I asked, still wondering why he looked so haggard but I never asked him, I already knew he was a weird person. All of a suddenly, I remembered the letter which I was constructing for Jake.

With hurried steps, I moved towards the table but did not find it, I knew he had seen the letter and probably even took it.

"Where is it?" I asked, though not sure if he was with it.

"Where is what? " He asked me, feigning ignorance.

"Stop, I'm not joking "

"Are you looking for your letter?"

"Where is it?"

I looked down and saw ashes pour out of his hand. Did he just burn my letter? And how did he even do that? How can one person be so weird?

"Why do you love him so much? And why do you hate me so much, my angel?.... Why don't you give me a chance, I am not as bad as you think. I could love you more than Jake..." I heard him say and before I could look up at him, he walked out of my room without looking back.

His words surprisingly left me feeling guilty? I don't know why but he sounded sad and it got me feeling uncomfortable.

What was that feeling?

I didn't know what it was so I pushed it away immediately because I did not want to know.

When it was time for dinner, I decided to come down and join the family because it had been quite a long time. I figured that whether the people liked it or not, I was the queen of this land, whatever it was called, and as so I had to act like one.

I got dressed in a free flowing dress and brushed my hair to look neat before heading down. As much as I prayed that my mother in law does not be the first person I encountered, she still happened to be.

I couldn't help but ask the heavens why they blessed me this way.

"Greetings mother" I greeted as a good queen and daughter in law that I was but in response, she decided to remain silent, only glaring at me with judgmental eyes.

I went ahead to pull out a seat and sat down gently

"So you finally decided to show yourself?" She asked and I could feel my mood gradually drop but I didn't want to give her the satisfaction of seeing my sadness or weakness.

"I do not understand, mother?" I shot back at her with an unknown courage.

"You have been indoors, hiding like a coward"

"Well, I believe I have been sick, which you would have known if you were a bit sensible, mother." I managed to speak in a very polite manner while driving home my point and I was satisfied to see my desired effect on her face.

"You! You have no manners!"

"I've got manners, mother... But I won't show it to you because you do not appreciate it"

"Shut up or I'll make you, you stupid girl, you're going to regret this!"

"She will not regret anything" Zoriel's cold voice sounded from behind. He came around the table and pulled out the chair next to me and sat down.

I looked over at my mother in law and saw that she seemed to be flabbergasted at her son's choice of words.

"Son! Why do you now want to side with this stranger?" She questioned him with an annoyed look and I couldn't deny the satisfaction that it gave me to see her getting worked up.

"I have never been on your side "

"And you would rather be on her side?"

"She is my wife "

"I never approved of it!"

"You should know by now that I do not give a fucking damn about what you approve or not!"

After Zoriel's words, there was silence for a while, both mother and son staring and glaring at each other and somehow, the little fight between the both of them gave me some form of unknown joy and satisfaction. I just sat there and ate peacefully while watching the drama.

"What did I do to deserve this kind of treatment from my only son?" She asked with a low sad voice which irked me so much.

"Think about what you did to your only daughter!" Zoriel said and I heard my mother inlaw release a low gasp of shock.

"Do not bring up that matter here"

"You're going to push it aside again, like you always do!"

"Son -"

"-I am famished " he cut her off and began to eat. A little smile stained my lips as I watched the frustration which danced on her face. Just as she averted her glare to me, I quickly faced my food and continued with my dinner.

I had failed to realize how comfortable I was with Zoriel sitting beside me, I did not feel any form of discomfort, neither did I try to push him away.

How awkward?

After dinner, I returned back to my room without any more disturbance from my mother in law, thankfully her son was able to check her excesses.

Then, I remembered when Zoriel said something 'about her only daughter '... Did that mean that Zoriel knew about Desmonda? And probably was against his mother's decision of locking her in?

If so then why didn't he just free her, wasn't he the King?

I exhaled in exhaustion, what a weird place to be married off to, it seemed as though waking up everyday always had a way of draining out my energy even before I begin my day.

I prepared for bed and just before I could lay my head to rest for the day, I heard a knock on my door.

"Who is it?"

"Pardon me, your majesty. You have a package" I heard from behind the door and wondered what the package could be and who it was from.

I went to answer the person and I was handed a small box.

"It is from the southern kingdom, Sunnyshire Kingdom" the butler bowed before leaving.

Looking at the package, it was obvious that someone else had opened it up before sending it to me. They were probably checking it for security reasons. It took it in, opened it up and found a letter in it, it was from my parents.

'Oh, at least they still remembered their only daughter... ' I smiled and proceeded to check out the other content of the box and found some jewelries and some maternity materials.

"What?" I laughed, they probably thought that I should be expecting a child by now, when I had not even known my husband! How funny of them. Did they really think that I would accept him so quickly?

I opened the letter and read through it, it managed to put a smile on my face but I wasn't ready to receive the shocking information which I got at the end of the letter.

It left my brows arched and my eyes widened in surprise.
