Part Two - New World - Chapter [062]

Suddenly sky breaker started transforming. The noise caught our attention and we turned to look at it. The machine started changing form, the seat stayed mostly the same but the intricate parts underneath changed form, as if reality itself was changing it's insides.

"Are you doing this?" Arslan said comically.

"It's doing that on it's own - " I whispered.

After some clunks and chunks. It's transformation was finally complete. The new Skybreaker stood before us. Completely upgraded and changed. It was still a vehicle no less - but quite different from before. Now it's wheels were made for hovering. And indeed it stood before us hovering just quite inches from the ground.

The Skybreaker had just turned into a hover bike.

"Woah!" Arslan marbled. And instantly went towards it. Clearly this had been Apollo's doing.

Was he also able to change reality itself?

What exactly were the extent of his powers and why was he trying to hide them.

A topic I would have to certainly revisit - because right now Arslan was asking my full attention.

The boy could barley speak - because he was jumping up and down with excitement.

I've never seen him so happy.

I couldn't help but smile.

"How - Wha - Where?!" He could barley form a sentence.

"I just - I don't' understand - how?!" He mentioned.

"Apollo came through - " I beckoned.

"It's a gift - he sort of owns me one," I questioned.

"A gift?! - Wait! - Who's Apollo?!" Arslan asked.

Right… I hadn't had told him about Apollo just yet.

How could I explain it to him without breaking him.

Fantasy had my back.

"He's a Sage - I have direct contact with him - he can do stuff like this-" I lied.

"Miracles?" There was a shine in his eyes a little glimmer.

"Sure - let's call them that," I shrugged.

[Sage does not fully represent the extent of my powers]

Tsk

[But it will do for now]

I sighed silently. As to not alert him.

Arslan was still marveling at the craftsmanship. He looked like he knew a lot about machines in general.

The hover-bike did look like it was from sort of ancient civilization - even had that blue glow to it.

"This is perfect!" He said

"The construction is just sublime," he mentioned.

"So? You gonna get on it?" I asked.

He smile and quickly jumped on the machine.

The machine adjusted for his weight.

Tilting the wheels for maximum control it shook a little but quickly stabilized.

"Woah!" Arslan said getting accustomed to the shaking.

Once it stabilized I approached it - the floor was starting to feel hot. He extended his hand and I couldn't help but take it.

He pulled me up and into his lap, there was enough room for the both of us, the hover bike was big enough.

It barley shook when I got on it.

Arslan easily placed me in between his thighs.

And but his head on the top of my skull.

I fit just right, quite snug actually I could stay here for a long time, even fall asleep.

If he wore a comfy jacket I could wrap around me.

I was close to his heart.

"You ready?!" He said.

"Let's go beat that son of a - " The engine splurged to life and we were off flying off deeper into the underdark.

That pillar in the middle of the underdark was just in sight, we picked up speed and the horizon soon approached us - there was big drop in front of us - we cleared it - Arslan even accelerated with a big grin on his face.

I couldn't help but freak out a little bit.

But then we cleared it - and slowly came to a stop - I opened my eyes.

We were floating in the middle of an open abyss.

The floor below us spread hundreds of miles into the underground.

I took a breath as I closed my eyes but found enough courage to open them up again .

"You did say you were afraid of heights," Arslan mocked at me with a sweet gentle laugh.

"Don't worry - you're safe here," he said nonchalantly.

"Let's go slow -" he pronounced and slowly pushed a trigger on the handle - we started descending.
