Chapter 63: Silence

A day had passed since I fainted at the training grounds.

And no matter how many times I urged Malcom, framing it as exhaustion from over training, he still wouldn't give in.

Saying that him constantly passing out is dangerous, that if anything were to happen while he was out cold, he wouldn't be able to protect me.

Despite all that, I kept asking-even ordering him to let me go, but he still refused.

My last resort at this point was the totem, so I waited the day out, and as soon as night fell, I made my way to the garden, where I descretely retrieved the totem from one of the many vases housing plant life, and I made my way to Darius' room.

I made sure to close the curtains and lock the door.

After which, all that was left for me to do was hold onto the totem, and wait.

And wait I did, for an hour, for two, for three.

For hours, till light began to seep through the curtains, and I realised, it's morning.
