"You're…very," I pause, unsure of exactly how to phrase my words.
"Feable?"
"No, that's not what I wanted to…" He bursts into laughter.
"No no it's alright, it is true is it not?"
*RING*
A phone cuts us off.
Darius excuses himself and leaves the room.
On instinct, I intend to listen in on Darius' conversation, but I remember right after that the doctor is right here, so I return my attention to him.
I stare at him, unable to help myself from staring for too long.
He is still young, a day hasn't left him, but…him using a wallking stick, and hunching over, with a terrible quiver to his limbs, makes me feel a deep sadness for him.
"What's with that look in your eyes?" He asks me, turning away…walking away.
Did I upset him?
He raises a hand, urging me to follow, and I do.
When I take his side, he speaks.
"You don't actually feel bad for me do you?" He asks and I find my tongue tied.
