Chapter 211: Keeper?

After almost two hours in the stupid party, two hours in a meeting, one more in a presentation, one more signing several dozen documents, three speaking with some politicians and and then finally three more overseeing the renovation of a hotel, the day finally draws to a close with me feeling a universe of exhaustion weighing down on me.

It only now dawns on me how much work Darius has to do in a day.

For the past couple of days I've been following him to work, I usually spend some hours waiting in one lounge or the other, today though, I decided to follow him all through.

Either as a result of that notion I got from Witsburg about Darius knowing my secret, or, the strange feeling of uncertainty that had settled in my gut, which seemed to only be quelled by my proximity to Darius.

'Do you think you can really trust Elias?' Witsburg's words play on loop in my head like a very bad echo.

Can I trust Elias?

Why wouldn't I trust Elias?
