Chapter 27 - Home Sweet Home

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport

"Uhmmmmm haaaaa.. smells like home." After taking a deep breath, Faust grinned as he couldn't wait to get home soon.

After getting out of the departure area, Angel and Faust soon found Sebastian waiting for them.

Faust rushed forward for a hug and smiled, "Hey Uncle Seb, getting younger are we?"

Sebastian raised his mouth to a demure smile and said, "Welcome home, young master. I'm sure sir and madame are going to be happy to see you after quite a long time."

Then Sebastian opened the car door and let them in. Once they settled in and their luggage was put into the trunk, Sebastian returned to the car and started to drive.

"Is everything well, Uncle Seb? Nothing major happened right?"

"I'm not sure what you are pertaining young master. If you are referring to the company, we've made some fortune due to your contributions. As for your parents, they are fine and lively as always."

"Thanks for the update. I can't wait to see them. And ohh.. George too? How is he?"

"George has become lazy, he wasn't like he used to, causing trouble here and there. I suspect it's because of his age. He's already quite old, if I may say."

"Sigh, I forgot dog's lifespan is much shorter than human. I hope he can wait until I develop a medicine or a serum that can extend lifespan."

Sebastian raised his eyebrows but didn't comment oh what he said.

"What about my lab at the company?"

"Not a single dust has been removed on that lab since you left young master. Would you like to visit it during your stay here?"

"Yes, I need to retrieve a lot of equipment in there."

"I'll arrange it as soon as possible."

--

Half an hour later, he saw the familiar gate of the villa as they drove by. Not long after, they finally arrived home.

After getting out of the car, he the familiar villa he grew up in. He left his things to the servants to Ake care of as he excitedly rush inside the villa.

Arf!! arf!!

Large dog lunge at him which made him stumble backward. George wagged his tail excitedly as lick Faust face.

"Come on, George! You are heavy! Ugh!"

Although Faust was making a complain, he couldn't help but laugh at the sight of his old friend.

"How are you doing, big guy? You cheered up the moment you saw me, huh? Hahahaha damn stop it you big oaf, it tickles."

Faust scratched the dog's chin while George still lick his face.

"Come on buddy, I gotta see Mom and Dad. Move your stinky mouth off my face."

Faust gently pushed George's snout away as Sebastian offered a handkerchief. He took it to wipe his face and stood up. He arranged his disheveled clothes before going to the study.

He didn't knock and went straight in. Inside, he saw his parents arranging their clothes while their gaze where elsewhere. He suddenly understood what happened.

"It seems I have picked the wrong time to come here, do you want me to return later?" Faust said while casting a mischievous gaze and teasing smile towards his parents.

"Can't you knock, Brat?!" John said in frustration which earned him glare from Margaret.

Faust chuckled at his father's misfortune when suddenly, Margaret also glared at him.

"Sit, young man. You have some explaining to do." Margaret told her son with stern voice.

Faust gulped and sat down nervously.

He also noticed his Father snickering at him.

"D-did I do something wrong?"

"We heard that you were involved in some trouble at your school, is that correct? Care to explain what happened?" Margaret squinted her eyes at her son with a dont-lie-to-me face.

"Wel.. Uhmm it's not my fault, Mom. I'm not the one who initiated it." Faust tried to reasoned nervously but Margaret cut him off.

"Shush shhh, tell us what happened from the start."

Faust took a deep breath and told the story about his involvement with Billy until they encountered the hired goons.

"Even so, that was reckless of you. What if you got stabbed or tortured."

"Isn't that why I fought back?"

"You could've talk to them in a civilized manner. You're not a barbarian."

"But--"

*sniff sniff

Faust heard her mother's sudden snivel looking sad while wiping the corner of her eyes.

"Dear, he doesn't want to listen to us anymore. What should we do?" Margaret said to John.

John was momentarily speechless when he heard her cry.

"Aaaw come on, Mom. Don't do that to me. Alright, alright, I'm sorry, Mom I won't do it again. Just stop the fake cry. You're getting good at it."

Faust didn't wait any second and went forward to hug his mother. He whispered to her ear and said, "I'm sorry, Mom. I missed you."

"Hmph you only know how to make some excuses. You're lucky you're my son or else, hmph!"

"Okay, okay calm down now. I'm hungry, I missed your cooking."

"Very well, I will let it go this time."

Then Margaret turned to John and said, "You better talk to your son about this. I'll just go and make some dinner."

"Yes, Honey. I'll scold him furiously until his ears hurt." John nodded seriously.

After Margaret closed the door of the study, John shouted loudly.

"You brat! What the hell are you thinking?!! You think you can just cause trouble for me and your mother??!"

John might sound furious but inside the room, he was winking and giving thumbs up to Faust.

Margaret, who was outside the door listening was satisfied and proceeded to go to the kitchen area.

Back inside the room, John asked in a low voice, "Is she gone?"

"Yeah, I think she is."

"Your mother was something else when she gets angry. Wew, you really know how to coax her, huh?" John sighed in relief.

"You should learn from me, Dad. I could give you some advice, my rate is only 200 dollars per hour."

"That expensive? I don't think your advices are worth it."

Faust shrugged and said, "You might regret it someday."

"Heh, I'm no worse than you brat. I'm sure I can handle myself. By the way, sit back down and tell me how the fight went? Is it exciting?"

"Yeah, can you believe it? I broke those bullies bones."

John scoffed and said, "Hmph, if it was me I would do them worse. Broken bones are the least of their worries."

"I bet you would" Faust laughed sarcastically.

"You don't have confidence in your old man? I can still swing my fist just fine."

"I missed your bragging, Dad." Faust just shook is head and smiled.

John was momentarily stunned for a second before looking at his son, "I missed you too, Son."

John smiled feeling proud of his son. He doesn't have any complaints about him. He knows that he doesn't like to cause trouble since he was young although he was a little introvert.

"So.. How many girlfriends did you get?" John asked with sparkling eyes.

Faust laughed at his question.

Father and Son talked for a while, bragging to each other as the room filled with laughter and stories from their experiences.

When they heard Margaret's voice calling out to them, they scurried away immediately not daring to get a second late for their family dinner.

--

After their harmonious dinner, they went to the living room to watch T.V. but after only a few minutes, Margaret called him out to talk to him alone.

"What is it this time, Mom? Whatever it is, it's Dad who made me do it."

"Tsk, you father and son always pranking each other, you think I don't know that you're messing with your, Dad?"

"Doesn't hurt to try." Faust shrugged.

"I talked to you alone for something else."

"What is it?" Faust looked at her bewildered.

"I heard that you've met a girl in school. Darcy, right?" Margaret scrutinized him.

Hearing her mentioned Darcy's name, Faust couldn't help but cursed Angel for betraying him.

"Hey, watch your language, young man!"

"Uhmmm, sorry, Mom. But we're just friends."

"But I heard she often stayed in the estate. Hmmmm are you playing with her feelings, your father and I didn't teach you to be a scumbag."

"We're really just friends. Uhmm maybe more but it's more of an agreement."

"What do you mean? If I hear you are playing a girl's heart, see how I'll teach you a lesson."

"It's with her consent, Mom. I didn't force her, okay? We both agreed."

"Hmph, really?"

"Yeah, I won't lie to you, you know that."

"Sigh, teenagers this days. I really can't understand your behavior. In our time, we only sleep with the person with truly love."

"Well, the world is changing, Mom. Besides, don't get too worked up about it. I won't mess up and you know that. You will only lose your youthful beauty if you get angry." Faust coaxed her mother.

Margaret glared at him at first but couldn't to help to smile she heard him flatter her.

"By the way, Mom. I have something to talk to you and dad about. Let's go find him."

Margaret was curious but she waited until they find John.

They found him in the living room watching football shouting about the unfair treatment of the referee towards his favorite team.

Faust told him that they needed to talk so John turned off the TV and faced his wife and son.

"Don't tell me you made someone pregnant." John suddenly blurted out.

Margaret gasp and asked, "Is she your 'friend'?"

"What? No.. Of course not. I use protection."

"Then why do your face looks like you've done something wrong."

Faust rolled his eyes and said, "Dad, Mom, I'm planning to graduate early and I hope I can get your permission."

"Huh? Why? You're only on your first year. Why all of a sudden?"

"I already learned what I needed to learn in high school. I'm ready for college. Don't worry, I still want to spend sometime in high school but maybe next year, I want to go to college in the same school."

"So you're saying, you're still attending the same school but you wanted to advance to college. Are you sure about that? There are still many gir--ahem I mean friends for you to meet in high school." John said confirming if Faust understood the situation.

"I already made some friends. It's just that, the school curriculum can't keep up with my learning speed." Faust reasoned out.

"Very well, I'll talk to Principal Newton to give you an exam. If you pass it perfectly, we'll grant your request."

"Really? Deal! Haha" Faust went forward and excitedly gave his parents a hug for their support.

"Don't celebrate yet, you will miss your prom." John snickered.

"Not unless someone invited me." Faust countered.
